Robert is right about the building being part of ground zero. It didn't fall, but it was damaged, and that is what matters.

I understand the problem of funding such a large demonstration and the incidental costs. However, I have a suggestion JW may wish to consider.

On the day of the demonstration, would it be possible for a few dozen hand-picked individuals to go around rattling collection cans and asking demonstrators to donate nickels, dimes and dollars to help defray the considerable costs? With such a large crowd of people in the mood to show support for a principled stand against the mosque, I reckon that between 10 to 15,000 dollars could be collected this way - like in Church when the collection plate is passed around.

The 'deacons' collecting the money could be given special tops to wear and id badges.

Please consider this suggestion. Nickels, dimes and dollars soon add up when thousands give.

I think your efforts could be more effective if Sept. 11 is turned into a NATIONWIDE "EXPOSE ISLAM" DAY. There should be demonstrations at mosques around the country. This could be easily organized on the web. (I read about a phenomenon called something like "flash crowds" that are organized using Twitter, I believe.)

I offered you some postings and banners that people could print out and use around the country, but apparently you were not interested. Although I really applaud your efforts, the struggle against Islam can not succeed with just the efforts of a few people.

The reason that politicians like Bloomberg can get away with their "religious freedom" approach is because the public doesn't know what Islam is. (By the way, Bloomberg's business interests in Dubai should be exposed.) Bloomberg would not support religious freedom for the Aztec/Maya religion that cut out the hearts of its victims on top of the temple as part of a human sacrifice to the gods. Islam is really not that much different.

I hope your speakers don't remain in the muddle of "the landing gear hit the building" or "the mosque would be fine if it were 400 feet away instead of 200 feet away."

I think Arthur makes some very good points. People (non-Muslims) at large, although they instinctively mistrust Islam, are still v. ignorant about what appears in the scriptures of Islam. The more direct quotations adn examples from Mohammed's life that can be put into the public arena, the better.

You are already winning with the public, since polls show that 70% oppose the GZ mosque.

To win with those in power (both Democrats & Republicans), the next major battles must be in the editorial boardrooms of the mainstream media, like CNN, NYT, NBC, ABC, CBS, etc. Although many think the battle is hopeless at these places, I do not agree.

I think the MSM are basically spineless, but have not made a fundamental decision to be dishonest. They are waiting for a time when it will be acceptable to openly talk about the facts regarding Islam.

The two of you can start changing the atmosphere in the U.S., which Mr. Spencer has already done to a significant extent very courageously.

You will get the maximum media coverage if you put up gigantic banners (too big to ignore) saying things like:

or

THE PROPHET OF ISLAM HAD SEX WITH A 9 YEAR OLD GIRL!

and SEVERAL MORE LIKE THESE, WITH THE MOST INCENDIARY FACTS ...

The TV cameras will be forced to choose whether or not to show those banners. I don't think they will be able to resist.

Then the real debate in the U.S. will start. Right now, it is all about feelings, tolerance, sensitivity, freedoms, memories, etc. -- mush that will not ignite a large debate.

It IS silly when offering to donate, to be told to "back off". For security concerns too, Robert and Pam can use all the donations they can get and by now they themselves are well aware of security issues. It is their choice whether or not to provide alternative payment methods, and asking them brings zero risk.

But as was said before, mistakes are made even with good intentions. Just gotta man up and admit it.

On another note, anyone coming from the Northern Virginia/DC/Maryland corridor can get to the protest quite easily by using the handy dandy Chinatown bus. Some clients in their 20's told me about it and it's fabulous! You can take the metro to the Gallery/Chinatown station and walk a block or two up to where you catch the bus. It's $20 each way, 4-4.5 hrs one way, will drop you off at Penn Station in NYC and then you can catch the subway to Ground Zero. It leaves at all times day and night so you could leave really early in the a.m., sleep on the bus or use the wi-fi, get there in time for breakfast or lunch, hit a couple of sites, go to the protest, go to dinner, and jump back on the bus at 10:30 or 11:30pm for the drive back. Just do a Google search for China Bus or Chinatown Bus and there are a couple of different ones to choose from coming and going at different times. Enjoy!

So: if Melburnian and Victorian jihadwatchers hold a rally in solidarity with the American Ground Zero protest, you could maybe start it under Leanne and Peter's trees, then walk to the American consulate.

I feel if that mosque is built, it will be my last day in my life. Since I am from the Imam's mother land, I understand what means for muslims to have that mosque. It is a big victory. Also, they do not want americans to remember 9/11 which gives a true picture about what was done in the name of Islam. I do not trust anything related to that mosque said by those people. I wish all americans to read a book called "Islam and Terrorism, by Mark Gabriel, Ex-muslim. He was a professor at Al-Azhar, the most important Islamic university in the world". That book can tell something about muslims plans to take over USA. We have to stand strong against building that mosque in that place. Muslims want what they want regardless other people's feelings. Also we need to have worship places for Jews and Christians in Saudi Arabia before even approve building any mosque in USA. God Bless and Protcet America
