Based on Injaz' behavior, he may be called yet another in a line of "insane" defendants who have committed acts of jihad. But one can't look at Islamic popular culture in the Mideast, and at the content of the Qur'an (2:65, 5:51, 98:6), and ahadith themselves, and claim that mentality originated between his own ears.

An armed Palestinian man held two hostages at the Turkish embassy in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, threatening to "kill any Jews" and demanding political asylum before he was shot by security guards.
Nadim Injaz, a resident of the West Bank city of Ramallah, threatened to blow up the building if he was not allowed to leave Israel, according to a recording played on Israeli radio.
In a call to Channel 2 TV, a man the station identified as the attacker said: "If they don't let me leave this country now I will burn down the whole building. I will burn everything."
He said he was demanding asylum in Turkey and protection from "these murderers the Zionists, the murdering Jews". At the same time, he said that Palestinian leaders, including Mahmoud Abbas, "should die."
He was later shot and wounded by security guards at the embassy, Turkish officials said. Seven hours after he forced his way into the building, the attacker was escorted out and bundled into an Israeli ambulance.
A lawyer told Israel Radio that the hostages, the consul and his wife, had escaped. It was not clear whether they escaped before or after the man was shot.
Mr Injaz has claimed that he used to work as a collaborator with the Shin Bet Israeli intelligence agency. He sought asylum at the British embassy in Tel Avivi in 2006.
Israeli officials have denied his story.
Israeli police said Mr Injaz was recently released from prison after serving time for his previous embassy attack. They said at that time that he was an informer and a criminal with a record of property and drug offenses who had encountered financial and legal troubles.
The incident appears not to be related to the recent tension between Israel and Turkey following the May 31 Israeli naval commando raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in which 9 Turkish activists were killed.
Mr Injaz told Israeli reporters over recent days that he had been asked by the Israelis a number of years ago to assassinate Marwan Barghouti, a prominent Palestinian activist who headed the Fatah Tanzim organisation.
He has claimed that the Israelis tried to kill him after he refused to assassinate Barghouti.
Mr Injaz is currently in Israel without a visa and he has said he fears for his life if he is deported to the West Bank by Israel.
Israeli foreign ministry officials were in contact with Turkish embassy staff on Tuesday night in an effort to end the affair. Israeli anti-terror units were also positioned outside the embassy building, and police sealed off the area.

Generally, Israel is a much safer place these days, with the security wall and checkpoints in place. But they cannot guard against Israeli Muslims—who are wont at times to use construction machinery as weapons. Apparently, they are not altogether safe from "Palestinians" illegally in Israel, either.

Isn't this guy rather unclear on the concept? Not only does Israel not prevent anyone from leaving or moving away, but it sounds as though this idiot was in Israel illegally in the first place.
It also appears that he wound up principally threatening his own co-religionists here—a not uncommon occurrence with Muslims.

You know what beats me?
This is a local Arab Muslim. He says his ever-lovin' fellow 'Palestinian' Arab Muslims will kill him if he's put back into their turf. Actually, I find that quite believable.
He wants to 'leave Israel' (i.e. he doesn't want to be an 'Israeli Arab'). He wants to go to Turkey. (Whether the Turks want *him* is another story, I suspect).
Why don't the Israelis just stick him on a plane to Turkey and wave bye-bye?

(Truth be told, the Turkish Muslims probably don't want him either. During World War One, the local Arab Muslims in 'Palestine' - though willing, for a consideration, to spy for the Turkish Muslims, against the British and Australian forces - were also perfectly content to dig up and rob dead Turkish Muslim as well as dead Infidel soldiers, and also perfectly content to slit the throats of *live* wounded Turkish Muslim soldiers unlucky enough to be found by them on the battlefields...Mr Fitzgerald has told us what Lawrence of Arabia's Arab Muslim bandits did to wounded Turkish Muslim soldiers in a hospital in Damascus. Trust me; this whole story was full of misinformation from the very beginning. It will be public information within the next few hours or so, but this guy WAS a Palestinian-Arab who was also (reportedly) an Israeli informant and has had a history of mental illness. He desperately wants out of Israel because his fellow Arabs will kill him if he stays.
He attempted a similar stunt in 2004 (threatened the Turkish embassy in an effort to flee Israel) and has been held in an Israeli prison until just recently. He NEVER took hostages but did demand asylum from the Turkish embassy who never allowed him past the public foyer. He was escorted off property and then began making threats from just outside the embassy fence. He threatened to bomb the embassy (or an adjacent building) and when that didn’t work produced a handgun at which time he was shot and wounded. It is unknown (to me) if the gun was real or not but the Turkish Embassy refused to allow responding Israeli officials to see, or investigate the issue. After a few hours the Turkish embassy folks did allow the subject to be transported to a nearby Israeli hospital under police guard (probably Israeli police but it wasn’t clear from the report I read) and that is where this all stands.
The Israeli MSM is almost as prone to reporting unchecked stories - as factual, as our own American MSM. Hope this helps.
