Let's do a quick survey. How many victory mosques are there in the Islamic world? How many mosques are either built on the cherished sites of conquered peoples, or converted from the houses of worship of the religions of those conquered peoples? Many thousands. The Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa mosque stand on the site of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. The Umayyad mosque in Damascus and the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul were once great cathedrals. There are thousands of Hindu temples that were destroyed all over India, and mosques built on their sites. Zoroastrian temples in Persia were converted to mosques, as were churches and synagogues in the Middle East and North Africa. And in every one of these thousands of examples, the mosques were intended to be an expression of Islam's victory and superiority over the religion of the conquered people.
Meanwhile, how many "mosques of reconciliation" have been built at the site of Islamic jihad attacks? How many mosques have gone up where these jihads took place, in order to reach out in peace to unbelievers, and offer them dialogue in an atmosphere of mutual respect? Why, none. Not a single one. Nowhere. Ever.
But if you don't believe that the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero is going to be the first one of these reconciliation mosques, and that Muslims all over the world will understand it as such, and that it will stand for peaceful coexistance as equals with the kuffar, despite the Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's support for Sharia, which denies equality of rights to non-Muslims, and despite the incredible contempt mosque leaders have shown for the sensitivities of 9/11 family members and others who see this mosque as anything but a gesture of healing and reconciliation, then you're a bigot, a hater, a racist.

If people burn Qur'ans, it is Qur'an-burning. It is not a replay of some other activity, not the same, not even similar. History is not an endless round of predictable events that a select group of gnostic seers can understand and therefore control for the benefit of the world and all its people, nor can these vatic pretenders rightly claim to know what an event like Quran burning is in its essence, not a matter of burning paper per se but of protesting a previous event, opening a newness to be known only in the aftermath of the newer event.
If the Left claims that book burning is book burning plain and simple, and that it is a Nazi event, then what is to differentiate Nazi ecology from Al Gore's ecology? In the latter case, I argue there is very little difference; but in the case of burning Qur'ans, I argue that it is a new event unrelated to any previous: there was no occasion to mimic prior to 9-11. Now we have a purpose in burning Qur'ans, and that is not to burn a book at all but to express outrage at a fascist poligion, to defy the authorities of dhimmitude in the West, and to enrage, possibly, the Muslim reactionaries, hopefully to the point they react with violence nd public madness, further educating the world population about the madness that is Islam.

To us who do not accept or want Islam the ideology of Islam does not cause hate, a favorite word of the pro-GZ mosque proponents to belittle their opposition. Rather, the ideology of Islam inspires FEAR. And we have 1400 years of historical evidence to justify that fear.
The resentment level being generated by this GZ mosque will not ebb with time. Predictably it will increase. Chris Matthews makes a link between the attack on the Moslem cab driver and the influence of Stop Islamization and America and Rober Spencer. Matthews does this despite the clear, continuing repudiation of vigilante, illegal or obnoxious acts against Moslems by Spencer on this site and elsewhere. Spencer, Geller and others have always, to the best of my knowledge, called for decent and lawful debate concerning an ideology that, on the balance of the evidence, does not reciprocally practice these values.
Yet we continue to have commentators like Matthews who by his own words in the segment has "educated" himself regarding Islam by means of conversations that he has had with Moslem cab drivers. Perhaps conversations with his barber complete his education on world events. Yet, like other commentators, he goes no further so as to ask what grounds opponents of Islamification may have for their concerns. The conclusion, sometimes stated overtly but always implicit, is that opponents to the concessions granted to the Moslem community beyond those rights guaranteed to all by the 1st Amendment, must necessarily be bigots.
So, by Matthews' abuse of logic, most posters on this site are bigots and incipient murderous maniacs. I wonder how he is so reassured that the "few" Moslems who are caught out for cold-bloodedly planning murder and mayhem are merely anomalous cases and not to be taken as representative of the Moslem community. Any organization, "religious" or otherwise, that is spiked with the right among members to kill anyone that leaves or is expelled should not be recognized as lawful.
Any non-Muslim who supports the Islamists -- and their quest to replace our judges with religious purists -- seem to agree that any and all organizations should have the right to kill any member who leaves. (Or maybe they think that only Muslims can just kill anyone?) This drives a stake into the heart of the first amendment right NOT to associate. To Illustrate: An initial decision to become a member of either the Democratic Party or Republican Party or Green Party, given the penalty for changing one's mind, would become a matter of life and death. This issue would subsume all other issues, regardless of whether it is purely secular political loyalty or religious "politics" as with the Shia-Sunni divide. The method of persuasion matters more than any other point of discussion.
Do we still have a majority of people in the US that support the right NOT to associate? It is, after all, part of the right to "assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Suppose any body of elected public officials, however large or small their jurisdiction, were to pass a resolution affirming (or reaffirming) the right to "assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances[,]" including the right to make new associations and reject old associations. Could they be called anti-Muslim bigots and racists? Could a Muslim-majority School Board in some tiny jurisdiction pass such a resolution without the risk that great harm might come to them?
If I draft Articles of Incorporation for Organization X that include a provision authorizing any member to kill any member that seeks to leave Organization X or to kill any member who is expelled from Organization X would a state government refuse the accept my petition for state incorporation? If the answer is yes then any organization that incorporates by reference (or embraces) the doctrines outlined in the Koran, and in Sharia law generally, should be denied such incorporation and denied recognition as a lawful entity. If a religion is denied recognition because it contains principals that are "repugnant" to the US constitution, and "repugnant" to the free speech provisions in every state constitution, then no Mosque could or should be built (or allowed) in the US until after the Koran and Sharia law have been purged entirely of the authorization of capital punishment for leaving the faith.

(BTW, individual freedom is not a God-given right because the only Gods are man-made and there is neither a heaven nor a hell. If individual freedom were a God-given right only and I profess that there is no God, or profess faith in the wrong man-made God, then it would be inconsistent for me to assert any right to individual freedom. Individual freedom is a right, just because it is preferable to tyranny of any Flavor.)
I hope you're right. I hope America is waking up. I really can't understand people like that hardball presenter. Don't they know what's going on in the world? Beheadings mutilations bombings etc. All Islamic Jihad. They are in the media. They are supposed to be informed. How come they don't know? Or is it just denial of fantastic proportions. In any case what is it they think they will gain by defending Islamic Fascism? Do they think that they will be spared when the Muslims get into power? Their heads will come off like any other Infidel's! These media people really boggle my mind! They are digging their own graves. That would be ok if it stopped there. But in giving support to Islam and the Islamic takeover of the West, They are digging our graves too!

The only reason Islam still stands in the 21st century is the terror they spread in the world in hopes of defending their religion. If Islam is of God, He does not need defenders, God is able and capable of defending His name and message. If Moslems stop threatening and killing whoever opposes Islam, would Islam last or survive? I think not. If they are so sure that their reilgion is the real and true religion of God, why do they have to use violence to strengthen that religion? Christ showed us His love and that is how Christianity spread, a few simple fishermen and regular people started His message of love and went with it into the whole world. When Peter took his sword to defend Christ the night He was arrested and condemned to the cross, He looked at Peter and told him to put his sword back, because "He who takes by the sword will be taken by the sword." God is a mighty God and does not need men to defend Him.

As for Proposition 8, is it so hard to see why people might believe that a single judge overturning the will of 7 million voters is an affront to democracy? And that seeing merit in retaining the structure of the most ancient and fundamental of all social institutions is something other than an alleged hatred of gays — particularly since the opposite-gender requirement has characterized virtually every society in all the millennia until just a few years ago?
And now the Ground Zero mosque. The intelligentsia are near unanimous that the only possible grounds for opposition is bigotry toward Muslims. This smug attribution of bigotry to two-thirds of the population hinges on the insistence on a complete lack of connection between Islam and radical Islam, a proposition that dovetails perfectly with the Obama administration's pretense that we are at war with nothing more than "violent extremists" of inscrutable motive and indiscernible belief.
Those who reject this as both ridiculous and politically correct (an admitted redundancy) are declared Islamophobes, the ad hominem du jour.
It is a measure of the corruption of liberal thought and the collapse of its self-confidence that, finding itself so widely repudiated, it resorts reflexively to the cheapest race-baiting (in a colorful variety of forms).
Indeed, how can one reason with a nation of pitchfork-wielding mobs brimming with "antipathy toward people who aren't like them" — blacks, Hispanics, gays and Muslims — a nation that is, as Michelle Obama once put it, "just downright mean"?
The Democrats are going to get beaten badly in November. Not just because the economy is ailing. And not just because Obama over-read his mandate in governing too far left. But because a comeuppance is due the arrogant elites whose undisguised contempt for the great unwashed prevents them from conceding a modicum of serious thought to those who dare oppose them.
