"Far-right" is the Homeric epithet of choice for those who do not want you to find out what, exactly, Jimmie Akesson of the Swedish Democrats, or Geert Wilders of the Freedom Party, or any of those associated with similar groups, stand for. All of them stand not for "anti-immmigrant" measures but for "anti-Muslim immigrant" measures, a very different thing. None of them stand for "making war" on Islam in the obvious way -- that is, huffing and puffing with lots of planes and tanks and boots on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, Wilders and other European opponents of Islam are too keenly aware that the real theatre of war, that is the war of self-defense being so confusedly and wanly waged by non-Muslims, against those who take Islam to heart (and this includes not all, but a very great many, Muslims, with the possibility, at any time, that the other Muslims, who call themselves Muslims but have been lukewarm or uninvolved will in a sense renew their Islamic vows under the pressure of personal disappointments -- and we have no way of detecting what, in the lives of these individuals, sets off such an emotional metamorphosis) is within their own countries, and they are not impressed with the American government's grotesque squandering of resources, and attention, first to Iraq and now to Afghanistan (this, incidentally, shows how much more advanced are those who worry most about Islam in Europe, as compared, for example, to those who keep insisting, many of them Bush loyalists or Republicans of other stripes, who cannot quite believe that the whole Iraq-Afghanistan thing has been the waste it has been, and who don't want us "to pull out" because, you see, "that is what the left wants").

The platform of Wilders and of Akesson also shows great sympathy and solicitousness for the elderly poor, and wants much more public support for them. That too, suggests that the epithet "far-right" =- if we are using "far-right" in the American sense -- hardly applies.

But don't worry anyone with details, or facts. These don't matter. What matters is that those who oppose the spread and the growing power of the Total Belief-System of Islam and those who are its slavish, or at any time its potentially slavish, adherents, are to be dismissed as "far right, far right, far right." Abandon all thought, ye who enter here.

When the Sweden Democrats are getting between 20 and 30% of the vote like Wilders' party in Holland, that's when we can begin to celebrate and have hope in Sweden's future.

The leaders of the Danish People's Party have now and then been plagued by "misunderstanders", to use an expression well know to us here. People who think they have carte blanche to abuse any and all immigrants in the interest of racism have consistently been dealt with however.
It is in the interest of all other political parties to make the anti-Islam movements appear suspect, and we see this all across Europe. The ultimate abuse to this day has remained "racist" and "fascist", the mere accusation of which formerly were sufficient to silence any man but now reduced to mean nothing more than "nationalist".
That aside, it is a fact that anti-Islamization movements are right-of-center, often very much so. But they consist of people who dare speak their minds, people who are not afraid of running against Political Correctness, people who are unafraid of not appearing "nice", people who are very much aware of the nation's past and values, people who see the future being eroded by the true fascism: the belief in Muhammad and his puppet God giving special and supremacist rights to the Faithful.
