Cuomo defies 70% of New Yorkers, won't investigate funding of Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero -- yet mosque investor contributed to jihad terror group

Whose bidding is Cuomo doing? "Cuomo To Not Investigate Funds For Islamic Cultural Center," from NY1 News, September 2 (thanks to Pamela Geller, who has a series of links to mosque leaders' questionable activities and ties here):

State Attorney General and gubernatorial hopeful Andrew Cuomo said Thursday he has no plans to investigate the Islamic community center and mosque.

According to a recent poll, seven out of 10 New York State voters say they want him to look into the project's financing.

Cuomo said he could not investigate the fundraising for the project because so little money has been raised so far.

He said his office would also need cause to probe the group.

"I hope nobody is suggesting this is a religion that some people don't like and therefore we should start a government investigation. That would be a terrible and dangerous precedent," said the Democratic candidate.

Cuomo did note that if anyone has evidence that the project has terrorist ties, that might be cause for an investigation....

OK, Cuomo, how's this?

"Report: Ground Zero Mosque Investor Contributed to Designated Terror Group," from FoxNews.com, September 3 (thanks to all who sent this in):

A key financial backer of the proposed Islamic center near Ground Zero once contributed to a U.S.-designated terror group, MyFox New York reports.

Egyptian-born businessman Hisham Elzanaty, who made what is described as a "significant investment" in the Ground Zero mosque project, contributed more than $6,000 in 1999 to the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, also known as HLF, tax records show.

The donations came two years before the federal government shut down HLF and designated it a terror group. Elzanaty's attorney told MyFox New York that his client believed at the time that he was donating to an orphanage. Elzanaty did not respond to questions.

Federal investigators say the group was set up as a Texas-based charity, but in fact supported Hamas....

Cuomo's disinclination to investigate may be an indication of a much larger developing problem and that is that almost without exception the only major political figures calling for opposition to the GZM are Republicans. With all the other many differences that separate the two major parties here in America, I think what is in the process of being added to these differences is that Democrats are going to go with a pro-Islam, pro-Muslim approach no matter what. Republicans, by contrast, will increasingly openly question certain tenets of Islam and indicate explicitly or implictly that Islam is not just another religion.

Most Democratic public officials, of course, will still be prepared to investigate or prosecute the most egregious wrongdoing by Muslims when they act feloniously in the name of their religion, but these officials will still refuse to make any connection between Muslim terrrorism and Islam. Contra this Democratic position and policy, Republicans are in the early stages of making just such a connection and this will only increase as the months and years go on.

The implications here are significant for the American political landscape. Eventually one party will be identified as being as hostile to Islam as it is to abortion and the other party will be seen as friendly to Islam as it is to the pro-choice position. If this happens then American Muslims almost without exception will become a new voting bloc in the Democratic party and in key metropolitan areas they could become a real determiner of local and state electoral results until such time when, not a majority of Americans but a vast majority, will have become so sick of Islam and all the excuses made to exculpate it that the Democratic Party will have no choice but to abandon their pro-Islam position lest it face political oblivion. Meanwhile, though, a social divide of a new kind will drive the two maor parties even further apart and will create even more divisiveness, namecalling and bitterness here in the American Republic. Interesting times to say the least.

Plowing ahead on a bulldozer named "Tolerance"...

There is something else going on in the mosque funding debate that no one wants to admit.

They aren't willing to say who the contributors are because they haven't raised the money yet.

They won't say that because it would cause a loss of honor among those backing the mosque. So they stonewall and say nothing while they seek the necessary contributions.

WOW- What a strong Governess NY is hoping to elect.

omg.. all I have to say is this:

"If My people, who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their sinning, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive them their sins, and I will HEAL THEIR LAND".
THE BIBLE - 2 CHRONICLES 7:14

My point? As the church goes, so goes the nation.
U.S. Christians.. where are you??!!
