Danish police think a man hurt in a blast was making a letter bomb to use against a newspaper which published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.The man was arrested in a park in Copenhagen on 10 September after a small explosion at a nearby hotel.
Police spokesman Svend Foldager said the device would have had the explosive force of a hand grenade.
He was "reasonably confident" Jyllands-Posten had been targeted by the suspect, who denies any crime.
The suspected would-be letter bomber pleaded not guilty to firearms charges and putting lives at risk when he appeared in court on 11 September.
He has been named by police as Lors Dukayev, born in 1986 in Chechnya and now living in Belgium....

The other day here in my city in Denmark the Police were put to flight yet again from the local Muslim Street by a volley of Molotov cocktails. Makes a change from being pelted with stones, or fire from automatic weapons. Another one of the "isolated cases" that have never happened before and will of course never happen again.
I am pretty confident our Chechen bomb suspect - and he had deliberately made it very difficult to unravel who he was and where he came from - should be convicted according to the "hard" terrorist section, meaning we won't get to see him outside of prison for some years. We've had some cases involving Muslims claiming to be making fireworks for the birthday of their son, or other likely excuses, but this one should have a happy end. In particular because a large Muslim organization condemned his actions as contemptible before the rest of the country were aware of what had happened... but on the other hand they are always chocked when a Muslim commits a terrorist act.

You're absolutely correct, Mike. The difference in ethics between the teachings of Jesus (as documented in the Gospel) and those of Muhammad (as documented in the Hadith) couldn't be more striking. And this must be pointed out to those who engage in moral equivalence.

Yes, the Bible indeed DOES have intolerant passages, just as the Quran, but Christians are free to interpret the Bible figuratively, to interpret the Bible as having been divinely inspired and yet written by men, or to reject outright belief in the Bible and in God. Conversely, ANY interpretation of the Quran other than that it is the spoken word of Allah...is a form of apostasy, punishable by death.

Again, it shows some of the deficiencies of Islam. Where is the forgiveness? Where is the ability to forget about things that aren't germane to your life? What does it say about the psyche of this person, that he became so personally affronted, he wanted to kill somebody? There have been offensive things said about many different things, but the most you usually see about it, where I'm from, is a protest, with some people carrying signs, or something like that. We have lots of political cartoons in the U.S. media, but they generally inspire e-mails to the editor instead of death plots. Good grief. The Islamists need to find out how to relax.

The police were helpful and respectful to a degree that is mind boggling. Afterward the artist decided to go with quiet assistance of NYPD, NYFD and First Responders to Park Place and Broadway to serve as an "in your face" protest against the pro-mosque people who were across the street.
No matter where we were or even while moving about we were stopped by photographers and press…. But as it goes, art is rarely published any more.
Notably, Marc received heartfelt thanks for the 7ft x 14ft “Atrocity 911” serving as a 911 Memorial. Many of the 911 survivors and friends/family of survivors engaged the artist and thanked him. Many shed tears. Many gave hugs and kisses. Special note: A 30 year old American Muslim woman interviewed Marc for a documentary (and came away with a new sense of wanting to “fit into” American culture)

Indeed it does—even though it is five years this month since the Motoons were first published. Cartoonist Kurt Westergaard—a man in his 70s—mutually agreed with publisher Fleming Rose to take early retirement and stop publishing in Jyllands-Posten for the safety of them both.
Recently, Kurt Westergaard had his home invaded by a crazed axe-wielding Somali Muslim, while his little 5-year-old granddaughter was in the house. If he had not gone to the trouble and expense to set up a safe-room with a direct line to the police, they would likely both have been horribly murdered.
Also recently, Muslim Jihadists have attempted to burn down the house of "Modoggies" cartoonist Lars Vilks in neighboring Sweden.
In the United States, "Everybody Draw Muhammed Day" cartoonist Molly Norris has had to change her name and go into hiding on the advice of the FBI, who could no longer guarantee her safety.
And now this.
We have to be free to discuss Islam, and criticize Islam, and ridicule Islam. I cannot imagine a nastier creed more richly deserving of derision.

If I were a Muslim, I would change faith and belief as any Islamic war against the Jews or the Infidels has left them on the losing side. I think the penance for your sins on Earth is to be converted to Islam, those that don't get converted have a ticket straight through the "Pearly Gates" to heaven or paradise whatever you want to call it
Pamela, Robert, David, Geert, and others, are great spokesmen for the effort to wake up Americans to the dangers of Islam, and they have pointed out that we, the people, having the right to free speech, also have the right to draw cartoons of anything we want to, including the warrior Muhammad, as well as the right to burn anything we want to, including the right to burn Mein Kampf or my Koran.
But, if they want to have an even bigger impact in the effort to save free speech, THEY ALSO NEED TO PROMOTE THE EXERCISE OF FREE SPEECH. They need to promote "Draw Muhammad Days" and they need to promote Koran burnings. A national "Free Speech Day" may be one option. But whenever/however it's done, it's sure to garner Muslim outrage. But that's a good thing because it's Muslim outrage that gets MSM coverage.
A message needs to be sent, a strong message, a message that Americans aren't going to sit by while free speech is trampled by Muslims, a message that will get the MSM's attention BECAUSE it will upset Muslims, something the MSM tries its best not to do and quickly condemns anyone who does.
