But it works just fine re Islamic "logic"—the Holocaust, they hold, "benefited" the Jews, because it led to the creation of the state of Israel (never mind that this is false)—since this is held to be bad for Muslims, ergo, it cannot be true.

When it is convenient for muslims, the Holocaust really happened, like when they're in histrionic high gear, calling themselves the 'new Jews' or victims-in-waiting for the next Holocaust which will occur as a result of irrational islamophobia and hatred of muslims. News like this just saddens me.
I had a co-worker who was in the U.S. Army during the Second World War. He helped liberate Dachau. Later he served as a guard at the Nuremberg trials. His stories were no different than what the histories say, with the addition of his personal observations.
So many want to rewrite history, and many got particularly good at it during the Cold War. It needs to be condemned whenever it is done, even if the temptation is to write the revisionist off as a nut. Nuts can get many people killed.

Denying the Holocaust is a symptom of the very evil that seeks to repeat it.
The lesson we learn from history is that genocide is easier than anyone thinks. Iran can deny the past. They can perpetrate the ultimate evil. In the end, it will be their undoing. Their economy will be in shambles, and their reputation will take decades of concerted work to repair.
