What a surprise. "Ground Zero Mosque Spokesman Refuses to Condemn Hamas Terrorist Attack," by Michael Goldfarb in The Weekly Standard, September 1 (thanks to Israel Matzav):
On the eve of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, Hamas gunmen murdered four Israeli civilians, including a pregnant woman. Even for those who see nuance in terrorist attacks, this one didn't leave a lot of room for argument. The PA condemned the attack and, reportedly, picked up some 150 Hamas affiliates in the West Bank for questioning. The Obama administration condemned the attack in no uncertain terms. And even J Street, the home of moral equivalence in the U.S., offered a quick condemnation of this atrocity. But the "moderate" Muslims of the Ground Zero Mosque? They're taking a pass. There's already been a lot of analysis of Imam Rauf's position on Hamas - he's against it, kind of, but unwilling to condemn the group as a terrorist organization. When asked point blank, this "moderate US cleric," as State Department PJ Crowley likes to call him, punted: "The issue of terrorism is a very complex question...I will not allow anybody to put me in a position where I am seen by any party in the world as an adversary or as an enemy."
Even if that party murders pregnant women on the eve of peace talks with the aim of continuing this conflict between Arabs and Jews? Apparently, yes.
Yesterday I looked at the Twitter feed for Park51 - the Ground Zero Mosque's primary point of contact with the media and everyone else over the last few weeks - curious to see if they'd offered some statement on the brutal attack near Hebron. There was plenty of activity - the usual fare of baiting Republican candidates like Ilario Pantano, who's expressed his concern about their bridge-building project, accusing Newt Gingrich of "being to the right" of Il Duce, a smug invitation to Sarah Palin to come and "visit the locals" - the kind of thing you'd expect from a 12-year-old with a diary at Daily Kos. But nothing on the attack in Israel.
So I asked the folks at Park51 - "I know @park51 is loathe to call Hamas a terrorist group....but as a gesture, maybe now would be a good time to say something?"
The group's response:
"@thegoldfarb We have condemned terrorism and will continue to do so. We are an apolitical community center. Please allow us that respect."...
Respect? Refusal to condemn jihad terrorist mass murderers is not a position worthy of respect.
Killing Jews is a sacred obligation for the devotees of Moloch: http://crombouke.blogspot.com/2010/02/muslims-duty-is-to-exterminate-jews-in.html
If killing Joos is a sacred obligation for devotees of the Moon god, how come Joos don't have an equal obligation to kill devotees of the Moon god from their -od?
"The issue of terrorism is a very complex question..."
So, the murder of a pregnant women is complex???? I should think it would be easy to condemn such a killing no matter how complex any issue is.
Why should they condemn it? Look at the cover of Time magazine, cleverly timed to come out at the start of "peace" talks.
Silence is consent. No one is fooling anyone else anymore. We know that Muslims approve of this sort of killing, explaining why they will not condemn it. Such killings are by the moral precepts of the West out-and-out murder; by the perverse standards of Islam such murders are not only justifiable under Sharia, they are commendable. Of course we can not live peacefully with Muslims, for reasons which lie entirely within the hearts of Muslims, placed there by the black ideology known as Islam.
Following the appearance of AIDS, many AIDS group adopted a SILENCE = DEATH sign & bumper sticker. Seems to me that thought has equal applicability with respect to anyone who silences or censors him|her/self about the indisputable dangers of Islam/Sharia in our society.
Well, they never will condemn their brethren who are just fulfilling their obligation of killing Kaffirs ! Their duty is instead to hide it and support it either silently or openly. They want to to see non-Muslim Kaffirs and their religions being wiped out from the face of this earth. That is what they are working for under various pretenses and under different guises and in various methods.

"@thegoldfarb We have condemned terrorism and will continue to do so." -- but not tag Hamas with the label.
The reason for this is simple. Left unstated is that, by their own definitions, Muslims are incapable of committing terrorism. Hamas is an organization comprising Muslims, hence they cannot be terrorists. We are expected to ignore or pretend not to notice the circular logic involved and all the evidence to the contrary.
@thegoldfarb "We have condemned terrorism and will continue to do so. We are an apolitical community center. Please allow us that respect."...
Shhhh.

I heard Mohammed say, "Allah hates for you for asking too many questions."
@goldfarb probably had this holy thought in his mind when he asked you to self-censor yourself out of respect for Moslems, Islam, Mohammed and Allah.
So long as you're in a question-asking mood, ask Goldy how Islam could possibly be apolitical when Government is one of the 3 legs on which the belief system stands? (The other two legs are Religion and Military.)
"apolitical" my a$$
Rauf said,"...I will not allow anybody to put me in a position where I am seen by any party in the world as an adversary or an enemy."
WOW!
How does he think Israel "sees him"?
He obviously must know that 70% of the American People DO NOT regard his GROUND ZERO TRIUMPHAL MOSQUE as anything other than the ACT of an ENEMY using our Laws & Freedoms AGAINST US, utilizing the Muslim Brotherhood Gameplan and Alinsky Tactics against Mosque Foes.
ALL mosques are epicenters of hatred.
Observant Muslims go to mosques to curse Jews and Christians seventeen times a day!
'Muslims recite the Surah Al-Fatiha seventeen times a day, at the start of each unit of prayer.
'Show us the straight path, the path of those whom Thou hast favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray.'
In the seventh verse, hadith inform us that "ġayril maġḍūbi 'alayhim" (those who earned your anger) refers to the Jews, who, according to Allah, abandoned practicing his religion; "walāḍ ḍāllīn" (those who went astray) refers to the Christians, who lost the knowledge and thus deserve less anger. Because of a hadith which states that "whoever does not recite Surah Al-fatihah in his prayer his prayer is invalid", many Islamic scholars emphasise the importance of this chapter in their commentaries. In practice, this means that Muslims who perform daily prayers according to traditional rules will recite Surah Al-Fatiha at least 17 times a day.'

The Ground Zero Mosquerade:
Condemn the abstraction of "terrorism", but not actual terrorists.
Slimy weasels.
I posted the following comment on the previous thread, but in view of Robert's final remark above it seems equally appropriate here.
Did anyone else notice the following quote in Hugh's 12.51 post above? Regarding the US forces building madrassas in Afghanistan - "We are saying that we respect their culture and religion," said naval commander Eduardo Fernandez, the man in charge of American aid efforts in the Sharana district of Paktika. "We have to give the religious leaders the respect they feel they deserve."
Excuse me???? "We HAVE to give the religious leaders the respect THEY feel they deserve"
I'm sorry, naval commander Eduardo Fernandez, but I don't HAVE to give respect, it HAS to be earned. And how much respect will you give them???? ".... the respect THEY feel they deserve."
NO, No, no and no! I only give the amount of respect that I (yes - I, myself and me alone) consider (not 'feel') that "they" deserve.
With people like this acting, and minds like this thinking, on our behalf - what hope is there????

Islam is relevant only because we allow it to be. That "enlightened civilization" can't even maintain a power grid.
I read a comment today referring to the ummah as the "hivemind."
Apt, don't you think?
These guys provide aid, comfort and support to Terrorists.
They have no right to a mosque anymore then nutjobs praising Tim McVeigh and the Unabomber supporting them deserve a church.
Honest Ibe? I believe you brought those two up as examples of evil Xian terrorists! You're so quick to condemn them, why is your tongue so silent when it comes to your homies at Hamas?
Wassamatter, cat got yer tongue? Or is yer devotion in taqiyya too strong to enable moral thought processes?
"The issue of terrorism is a very complex question..."
And these devout infidel-hating Muslims would describe the rolling of a pigs' severed head into a mosque as terrorism, whilst killing infidels, especially Jews, is a duty to them.
To condemn "lawful" jihad under Sharia law is to risk being declared apostate and being "legally" killed. Of course, enough of that "condemnation" is done as tagiyya, but some imams seem to think the global jihad has progressed to and Islamic conquest is at the point of openly enforcing Sharia, defying U.S. law, and/or spitting on Western culture, ethics, and morals.
