With all due respect, C&C, even if this is true, it would seem to be an entirely separate issue. If this man would be out on bail under similar circumstances if he were Muslim, then this is a travesty of justice—*even if* his time in jail is less arduous than it would be if he were less wealthy.
What if he were a poor Hindu? Then he would still be denied bail, but would be without monies to ease his stay behind bars.
If the justice system in India—as in so many places—is skewed toward the rich, this is in no way addressed by favoring Muslims over Hindus or other non-Muslims.

Hindus don't die anywhere in the world because they don't fight for their religious rights. They know how to jell with local folks. Here in the UK 'Paki' is an abuse, not 'Indi'. Indians are not only much more prosperous they are much better educated. In good grammar schools in the UK 15-20 percent is Indians. Same is probably the case in Oxford-Cambridge. Up to 20-25 percent Docs in Health service in the UK are of Indian origin. Same is the case in many IT companies in the silicon-valley- Microsoft, Sun Micro-system, Apple, etc. Hindus don't waste time and energy on religious indoctrination- we are progressive.
