I am an Indian Hindu like you two and I too support the struggle to prevent a mosque at Ground Zero by Americans.

Also, I try to apply some energy to situation in India. I contribute to BJP - RSS ideology but you can pick any organization in India that is engaged in fighting jihad and contribute to it.
I write on a blog which even has a small following now.
I have been keeping in touch with those in Hindu nationalist camp and let them know that I am available for work.
I have volunteered for my residential community's association. I expect this to give me some influence which will help in making more fence sitters aware and inclined towards Hindu Nationalist / Anti-jihad ideology.
Finally, I took care to study Islam from original texts. Not only does it make you more authentic, but also when you debate the issue with someone you know, he is more likely to be influenced by your arguments. I have read the Sira of Mohammed, most of Koran and some of Hadith.
These are very small ways of contributing to advancement of freedoms in free countries (pity this has to be done in today's age !). But I think every small bit adds up.
If you can think of more ways of contributing to the global anti-jihad effort, please let me know. I am open to trying everything that is possible for me.

But I wasn't able to find a detailed, formal list of the 41 Indian victims: that is, those who were citizens of India, as distinct from those who had migrated from India but died on 9/11 as American citizens.

I noticed that as well, DJM. It also points to *widespread* involvement—at least tacit involvement—by family members, which is common in "honor" killings.
If it was just the father, or even both parents, then likely another relative would have reported her missing.
Notice that police initially arrested several other family members, but it sounds as if they are all covering for each other.
I remember a case from a year or two ago—also in the UK, if memory serves—where the victim's sister broke ranks and finally talked to the police and finally testified.
Unsurprisingly, she had to be placed under protective custody, lest she become a second victim. Horrifying.
Islam turns the very people who should care for and protect these girls into their murderers, and accessories to murder.

Looking at all her suggestions and seeing mine too, I think the most important one thing to do is to aquire really authentic information about Islam and spread it around. I really felt myself talking with authority on Islam after reading biography of Mohammed written by a devout Muslim and accepted as authoritative by nearly all Muslims.
Anyone serious about this issue must aquire this book (called Sirat Rasoul illah) and go through it with a lot of attention to all events and how they shape Islamic values.
You would be surprised that I did not find this book anywhere in India. I searched for months. But apparently, there isn't enough market for it amongst 14 crore Muslims in India nor are 85 crore Hindus interested in studying it.
Finally I ordered it on barnesandnoble at a US address of my friend (another de-dhimmified Hindu like us) and he brought it for me when he visited India.
If you are really serious, then from my experience, I would suggest that this one thing must be done and then the knowledge that you aquire should be spread out as much as possible.

What you said about the sister who 'broke ranks', reminded me of a pride murder case in Iraq, that was reported and discussed here, some time ago.
An Iraqi Muslim girl, quite young, had taken the opportunity to practise her English with a nice young British soldier who was, I think, distributing 'aid' packages, in a completely neutral, public, well-supervised space. All very awkward and polite.
The girl's dad got a bee in his bonnet and decided she must be sweet on the Infidel soldier...and, therefore, murdered her, to punish her for breaking the sharia rule about Muslimahs and infidels, as well as the more general rule about never, but never, mixing with an unrelated male.
The girl's mother 'broke ranks', complained about the murder, testified against her husband in some way...and was, as a result, after some time, *also* murdered.
