I have just obtained a copy of apostate-from-Islam, now Christian Canon Dr Patrick Sookhdeo's book about the Christians of Pakistan, 'A People Betrayed' (2002) [it is based on his doctoral thesis].

In the final chapter, on p. 356, Dr Sookhdeo makes certain observations about the nature of Islam, which apply just as forcibly to the situation in southern Russia, as to anywhere else that there is a large Muslim population currently existent within a non-Muslim state.

"To distinguish between Muslims and non-Muslims is far more than a mere statement of fact. From its very inception Islam has been acutely conscious of its relations with non-Muslims.

"**The vast majority of Islamic teaching - in early times the whole of it - assumes that the political, social and military dominance of Muslims over non-Muslims is the normal state; where this does not obtain, it must be sought** " {my emphasis - dda. Perhaps this paragraph should be translated into Russian!}.

Remember: the man who wrote that, was reared within Islam until he apostasised (at University in the UK, so, probably around his early 20s). He knows whereof he writes.

On p. 357, he writes - "...it is intrinsic within Islam that Muslims should have a higher status than non-Muslims"...and on 385, speaking of the disappointment of those Christians of Indian ethnicity who had chosen to remain within Pakistan at its establishment, he observes, "The Christians' disappointment is understandable, but perhaps their hopes of equality in a Muslim homeland had been unrealistic, **given the nature of Islam** {my emphasis - dda}. It is unlikely that Jinnah's promise of equality could have been kept for long, *as non-Muslims cannot be equal citizens with Muslims in an Islamic context** {my emphasis - dda}".

On page 378, Dr Sookhdeo states flatly: "The overall conclusion to be drawn (from the historic data he has examined in the book - dda) is that Christian minorities (I would add, *any* non-Muslim minorities - dda) in Muslim-majority contexts are intrinsically vulnerable. There seems to be a one-way process towards oppression that has rarely been reversed. It is in the very nature of Islam to discriminate against non-Muslims".

In other words: Muslims simply can't and won't abide being in a minority, nor can they be satisfied with a condition of simple equality of rights with non-Muslims; the Ummah is programmed to seek *dominance*; and when it *achieves* or possesses dominance, it will deny equality with Muslims to any non-Muslims under its dominion and, indeed, will actively abuse them.

Now, back to the article.

According to my Christian sourcebook/ prayerbook 'Operation World' (2001 edition), in 2001 Dagestan was stated to be 94 % Muslim, with 34 different ethnic groups. They note that 'there is a rapid rise in extreme Muslim Wahhabite groups - 7 % of the population - who are violently bent on forming an Islamic republic.' And is anyone surprised to find that Dagestan is "the poorest republic in the Russian Federation"?

The same sourc-ebook provides some additional information on the North Caucasus regions and provinces and major ethnic groups.

The only majority-Christian people-group are the Ossetians (Beslan is in the province of North Ossetia Alaniya), who follow Russian Orthodoxy.

The Chechen, as we all know, are overwhelmingly Muslim; Chechens who have become Christian are too few to register statistically.

Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkariya, Adygeya, and Karachayevo-Cherkesiya, are also overwhelmingly Muslim.

It is worth noting that the Cherkess/ 'Circassian' people-group, found in Kabardino-Balkariya, Adygeya, and Karachayevo-Cherkesiya - left their original beliefs and converted to Christianity in the 6th century AD (i.e. prior to the rise of Islam) and remained a Christianised people for *nine centuries* until the 15th century, when - as my source primly puts it - 'they turned to Islam' (I think all experienced jihadwatchers will have some idea of what kind of pressure is concealed beneath the bland words 'turned to Islam'). In other words, the Circassians in the Caucasus are rather like the Nubians in the Sudan: a people who were Christian for centuries, but were assailed and finally worn down by Islam.

Jihad - with plenty of encouragement from foreign Muslim powers as well as non-state entities - is intensifying among all the Islamised Caucasus peoples.

As the 9/11 anniversary approaches, expect crocodile tears from 'moderate' Muslims who will quote cancelled verses from the Koran to explain how Islam is a religion of peace.

Don't believe a word of it, Islam encourages them to tell lies to fool gullible non-Muslims.

Their only loyalties and moral obligations are to one another, and they believe all non-Muslims are 'najis' - filth on a par with urine and feces.

What gets me, and have failed to understand is, why does Putin continue support Iran with their nuke program after reading this latest attack.

So, why am I, a simple, retired, conservative white guy, getting so upset with Islam and its defenders?

Heck, if Islam is allowed to run amuk and Sharia law becomes the law of the land, this is what will happen:
1) there'll be no more war in the mid-East since there'll be no more Israel and no more Jews (they'll all be exterminated);
2) Women will be relegated back to their previous status and won't have any rights;
3) I'll be able to treat my wife(s) however I want to - back to the days of barefoot and pregnant and anchored in the kitchen; "Honey, I'm home. Is dinner ready?"
4) no more liberal MSM since it'll be eliminated along with free speech;
5) no more concerns about gay rights, gay marriage, etc, since gays will simply be exterminated.
And to top it all off:
6) I'll have 72 virgins waiting for me in heaven if I simply convert to Islam.

So, bottom line, my life will be much simpler without all this worry and angst over the Islamization of Europe and ultimately America. What the heck, maybe I'll have to pay a little jizra or whatever you call the dhimme tax, but Obama's raising taxes like crazy anyway, so what's the difference?

Maybe the best thing for my peace of mind is to just sit back and relax and as they say in sports, let the game come to me. Sooner or later all of the above will realize that what they're defending is what's going to kill them, so they'll eventually join the battle. Only problem is, by then it'll probably be too late.

You are wrong. If the whole world was islamic there would be war on an unprecidented scale. The different sects of islam are as intolerant of each other as they are of jews and christians. They are also the most racially intollerant people in the world and regularly kill othere of the same faith just because they are arab and not persian. No one likes the palestinians.

You must be young and dont remember the USSR. Putin supports the very people that are supporting the russian insergencies because they are an even pain in the neck to us! Its called cutting off your nose to spite your face. The most obvious example of this is putins selling Iran its latest military hardware despite Irans declaration 25 years ago that all of the southern part of the USSR and russia itself was historically part of Greater Persia and they were going to take it back.

Russias arms sales to iran is even more head scratching when you concider russia is a bigger paper tiger than the US was under Carter. The division that attacked Georgia is Russias "A Team". This equivilant to our 1st Armored Division almost lost to the Georgia National Gaurd.
Putin has done things like sell Kilo Class submarines to Iran in hopes they will use them to sink both tankers and US Warships in and around the persian gulf to hurt us in the energy sector and help them reap windfalls in the rise of oil prices. The vaulted SA-300 AA system Russia claims to have sold Iran is a system the russian army has only a handfull of and there is no guarrenty it actually works or that russia actually has the resources to build more of them.

I'm not sure if you're being serious or not, but you made me think of something that no one seems to be pursuing, and that is:

If Islam advocates murder of non-Muslims, why are we allowing mosques to be built so that the Muslims can preach their murderous intent?

Not only should the Ground Zero mosque not be allowed, NO mosques should be allowed anywhere in the country.
