Quetta, 11 Oct. (AKI/DAWN) - Pakistan's customs authorities have launched a probe into the disappearance of 500 oil tankers and containers carrying supplies for Nato troops in Afghanistan.A senior customs official told Dawn on Sunday that 500 oil tankers and containers which had left Port Qasim in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi for the Afghan city of Kandahar did not reach the Pakistan-Afghan border.
He said that Karachi customs had cleared the vehicles after scanning.
The official said the investigation was undertaken after the Supreme Court of Pakistan said it would investigate the reports about the missing vehicles....
Frequent incidents of looting of Nato vehicles were reported last year from Killa Abdullah, Quetta, Kuchlak and other areas of the western Pakistani province of Balochistan.
Local markets are reportedly awash with goods looted from Nato vehicles.

It seems the honchos heading up Obamas military advice are all jumping ship with some 125,000 US personnel in an extremely exposed position.
When all access is cut off-then what???

In September 2001, Colin Powell delivered an ultimatum to the government of Pakistan. I have never seen reference to the text, but Powell told them that the terms were "non-negotiable". Pakistan caved. There was obviously an "or else".
That ultimatum should still stand.

1. Secretly-installed miniaturised tracking devices (whose installation and location ONLY the Infidels know about)

I seriously think it's time for NATO to very quietly contact India and plan contingencies towards Pakistan. Also, all of NATO needs to stand together and bluntly tell the Pakistanis that they'll be thrown under the bus and then hung out to dry.
Frankly, I'm getting fed up with our politicans' passivity in the face of such brazen giving the finger without returning some very serious pain; the kind that makes them sit up and pay real attention.

Obama flooded the place with Forces, with tenuous supply lines through country's who would love to see us "lose".
We have in excess of 120,000 + Nato yet the only reported casualties seem to come from the efforts of the CIA.
Iran was keeping it's mouth shut at the time.
Obama has been cutting defense budgets for major weapon systems.
Obama is transforming the Military in such a way as to not be able to engage in major combat.
Why not cancel the F-22 if one never plans to use it anyway.
The only press the Military seems to receive from this administrations minions is the issue of Gays serving openly.

I'd say 500 trucks left Karachi bound for Kandahar but many of them diverted to the Chaman border crossing in Baluchistan and delivered there, dodging the closed Khyber Pass crossing. The local custom's official and the journalist won't have the numbers yet. i.e. I favour stuff up over consipracy here. The road via Baluchistan is more dangerous, and significant numbers will have been lost, but why wait idle and earning nothing for unknown weeks when there's an open route?
