BALTIMORE: Farooque Ahmed, the Pakistani-born Virginia man accused of plotting to bomb Washington-area subway stations, lived in middle-class suburban comfort with his wife and their infant son. They held steady jobs in northern Virginia's technology industry and mostly kept to themselves.They got along with neighbours, sometimes even cooking saffron rice and chicken for them. Ahmed enjoyed fishing, and his English-born wife, Sahar Mirza-Ahmed, was part of a group of "Hip Muslim Moms." Both were on social-networking sites.
Yet Ahmed had a burning desire to join the global jihad, according to federal authorities. Beyond his alleged terror plot, which involved scouting Metro stations that he believed al-Qaeda would bomb, authorities said he wanted to travel to Afghanistan to kill American soldiers.
Ahmed, 34, emigrated around 1993 to the United States and later became a citizen, according to an FBI affidavit. He lived in Staten Island, NY, and earned a bachelor's degree in computer science in 2003 from the College of Staten Island before he moved to Virginia....
He worshipped at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society Center, a mosque with several branches in northern Virginia, coming to prayers occasionally by himself, said Robert Marro, a member of the board of trustees. The ADAMS Center, as it's known, issued a statement Wednesday expressing outrage at Ahmed's alleged plot. It also urged people to alert authorities if they know about Ahmed's activities or see any suspicious behaviour.
"He comes in just for prayer services and then leaves right after," Marro said.
Imam Mohamed Magid said cases like this make Muslims worry about how they are perceived by the larger community.
"In northern Virginia, people are very understanding," Magid said. "They know that the act of one person like this does not represent Islam and Muslims."...
He had money in the bank, according to the affidavit, which said he spoke about sending $10,000 to foreign terrorists -- in $1,000 increments to avoid arousing suspicion. But when he made an initial appearance in federal court, he said he could not afford a lawyer....
Mirza-Ahmed wasn't the most outgoing, but she was well-liked, said Bani, who was "shocked and shaken" by the allegations.
"They're a regular, everyday family," Bani said. "That's why it's very shocking to hear this."
It was unclear where Ahmed worshipped. Imams at two large mosques in the area said they had no records of Ahmed and they were quick to condemn his alleged actions.
Of course. They almost never know these guys -- the ADAMS Center above admitting some acquaintance with Ahmed is unusual. But how is it unclear where he worshipped if he was known to have attended the ADAMS Center?
In any case, in general it's funny how these self-proclaimed devout Muslims never seem to have darkened the door of a mosque. Or could it be, just possibly, that their arrest provokes amnesia down at the local House of Peace?

The stupidity of allowing the immigration of people from islamic counties is incomprehensible and inexcusable. Those in our government facilitating this should be held accountable and charged with manslaughter since their actions have enabled the murder of Americans, 911 etc. and have placed all of us under threat.
The cost to treasure, freedom and lives exacted by islam is already beyond the tolerable. Politicians and the media who are diverting our attention and focus from this multifaceted attack are responsible for delaying the neccessary response which will repell and soundly defeat this menece head on and inside it's very core where it can only be killed.

Has it occurred to anybody that the next Mumbai or Beslan-style attack - on a maternity hospital, say, or a children's hospital, or a kindergarten or a childcare centre somewhere in the West - just might be carried out by a group of doe-eyed hijabette mamas who turn up one day with bombs and guns and big sharp knives hidden in the nappy bags?

It's funny to read this because this is exactly what my brother and I got into an argument about. He couldn't believe that Muslims use Taqiyya or deception especially the musilms he works with at his civil engineering firm. I told him that I would not be surprised to find one of those guys on the front page of the news trying to do something like this. I know some Muslims in my area and even if they made me feel all warm and fuzzy with friendship I would STILL watch my back. Their religion makes them the kind of people you can't trust, so I don't.
I don't agree with Juan Williams about many things but on this issue he was definitely 100% right.

This illustrates a point I've heard RS make many times. They are concerned about their image. They're not really concerned that this shit-head (pardon my Anglo-Saxon) wants to kill people.
Kudos to law enforcement for identifying this guy and getting him. But think of the man-hours involved...and this guy was a nobody, a free-lancer with no real contacts. There is no way we're going to be able to monitor all of the 3 million Muslims who reside in America. If only 1% are predisposed towards Jihad, that's an army of 30,000 potential terrorists.
It's a numbers game, folks...which is just one more reason why we need to curb Muslim immigration.

Just a few years back in Windsor Ontario( across from Detriot's river ) a Whahabbi Muslim sect Mosque had a devout man behead a taxi driver who dared to question where the new Mosque should be built.
The passive,kind,father and husband took his son to a area to oder a taxi know the cabby would be sent, they then gave the address of a Industrial area and when the taxi stopped to settle the bill, the father reached forward and starting sawing off the cabbies head right in front of his son as an example how to treat those mocking islam and Allah.
But once arrested his wife said that canada made him violent because he was so kind back home,and then suddenly all the Muslims at his mosque had memory loss and only heard him talk to others about radical action and militant islam to go after the cabby.
Ah yes.....a Muslim in a Mosque boasts how he going to kill a cabby for Allah because he opined about the new site for the Mosque,and nobody found that odd or called the Police to monitor him , nor did the Imam kick him out of the Mosque.

The Windsor Police said the cab was the bloodiest and most ugly murder scene they have ever had to take photos of,

Of course the canadian media feared using the "M" word and just reported that a taxi driver was killed in a dispute with a fare,it wasn't until the arraignment hearing for bail that the video of the Whahabbi wife in a Nijab was exposed and then canadians knew it was an islamic beheading for revenge and not a fare dispute.
If moving to canada make Muslim violent, then lets close the doors for their own safety because it's OUR fault this peaceful man beheaded a taxi driver in front of his muslim son to teach him Shariah. She says, “Now they (Geller, and by implication, Spencer) pick a battle they will not win, but is a cleverly designed PR vehicle for people like car loan fraud scammer Scamela Geller and others who are using them to raise money and get attention.” Maybe “they” can’t do anything about it, but at least they try. Debbie just accepts it. I cannot.

'Janice Burtt, a neighbour, said she only knew the man and woman who lived in the house to see them on the street.
'She would wave to her neighbours, but they never responded.
"I don't think they gestured to me at all," Burtt said. "People keep to themselves, so that seemed nothing too out of the ordinary."
'Burtt said the people who live at 91 Esterlawn are quiet and keep to themselves. She would sometimes see them sitting on the front porch of their house.
'Burtt said this type of police activity is unusual in the condo complex.

So this nice dad was a good muslim, a good Porkie, who acted and dressed like all others. He had a nice middle to upper class life for this area. He also thought like all others, He did not stand out. So how are we to find out if he wants to murder infidals today, as opposed to all other muslim males who want to murder infidals only when the call to jihad comes not before?
