Speaking of the persecution of the Copts, on Wednesday I spoke outside the UN at a rally organized by the American Coptic Association, an organization dedicated to defending persecuted Copts in Egypt. The trouble that the Copts are experiencing in Egypt all results from the doctrines of Islamic jihad; but the world looks the other way. I spoke about how Copts are suffering because of provisions of the same Sharia of which the Ground Zero mosque imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is an open proponent -- but no one seems to be concerned about the implications of that, either.
Some photos from the rally:

Speaking in the last photo is Dr. Monir Dawoud, the president of the American Coptic Association.
There was a pic of a protester holding a sign with the One's pic asking him to do something. One must never, ever, ever, ask a leftist/socialist/statist to come to the aid of any Christian, period. At best you will get lip service, otherwise you get demonized if it in any way caused embarrasment of the One, or just outright ignored.
That the peaceful message of Christ and the Egyptian Copts, who accepted it, is far older than the message of Islamic hatred spread 600 years later throughout Egypt by Mekkan marauders seems sadly ironic indeed.
Bravo Copts ! It is time to stand up and make your plight heard all over the world.
There are countless many Christians,Hindus and Buddhists who are persecuted and harassed systematically in daily basis in Pakistan,Bangladesh,Malaysia ,Indonesia and Africa.
I hope the man in the White House will ever heard your calls for help.
May the justice, fairness and truth prevail in the world for all.

You mean, the Muslim in the WH?
Since 1975,USA has given $50 Billion dollars free aid to Egypt. Every year,Egypt is getting this free money while America is reeling under recession. But Egyptian Government and the Islamic organizations treat the Coptic Christians, who were once the majority in Egypt, before the Arabs came and occupied by force Egypt. Coptic girls are raped, and by force converted to Islam. Christian priests are humiliated and killed. Majority of Egyptians came out of Egypt due to the persecution and ill treatment by the Muslims.Obama has every right to warn Egypt about the treatment of Coptic Christians in Egypt. But as usual,he turns the other way. Even when the American Coptic Christians in thousands went to white House to meet President Obama, he never met them. American public must join together with the Coptic Christians, and compel President Obama to warn Egypt, who is only keen on getting a good name from the Muslim world.
This is very good the Copts are beginning to be proactive. Now they should demonstrate right in front of the N.Y. Times building and or a big TV station like NBC and demand to know why these large major mass media outlets don't report or bury stories about persecution of Copts and other Christians in Islamic countries.
The Torah speaks to ALL mankind:
"Do not follow a multitude to do evil....." (Exodus 23:)

Whether Jew or Christian, believer or atheist, how many of us stand idly by our fellow's blood, thinking "This does not concern me" or "Surely, the blessing of God is on the blight that curses my enemy"?
United we stand. Divided we fall.
Christians fought for & built the USA, that's enough of a reason to defend them wherever and whenever they need help. Time for the anointed one to man up. Like Mike Ryan says, it's time to stand together and concentrate on what we value before it's too late.
