The Ground Zero mosque is -- according to the repeated insistence of those who are behind it -- supposed to be all about peace, reconciliation, and interfaith harmony. Yet today at Hamas-linked CAIR's annual banquet, a featured speaker is none other than the waiter-turned-millionaire developer (a transformation not yet satisfactorily explained) Sharif El-Gamal.
So one of the leaders of this "moderate" mosque initiative is speaking at the annual banquet of a group that is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas funding case.
El-Gamal may feel right at home among the CAIR Islamic supremacists and thugs. After all, he has said that "when you beat up someone physically you get exercise & stress relief." and he has a history of run-ins with the law.
El-Gamal is joining Helen "Jews get the hell out of Palestine and go back to Germany and Poland" Thomas and deceptive "Muslim Martin Luther" Tariq Ramadan (banned from the U.S. when Bush was president) at the CAIR hatefest.
Sudanese freedom fighter Simon Deng, Pamela Geller, James Lafferty of VAST (the Virginia Anti-Sharia Taskforce) and I will be protesting, asking why the "moderate" Ground Zero mosque organizers would associate with the likes of Hamas-linked CAIR, and calling on El-Gamal to denounce this unsavory organization. Helen Thomas huh...I wonder if she will wear a headscarf, or brazenly display her hair to the panting assembly. I bet there will be hugs and pats on the back all around, maybe a few smooches...Islam may be anti-fun, but it's still ok to have a good time. This morning Sharif El-Gamal was interviewed by Scott Simon of NPR (National Pretentious Radio, or National Prevaricating Radio, if you like) Of course, Mr. Simon asked no difficult questions of his dissembling guest, and it was a sad piece indeed. Yet again, the opportunity to expose the true aims of these stealth jihadists was lost by a timid or willfully ignorant journalist.
It is particularly bad that this happened on NPR because, if perception is ninety percent of an information war, a large segment of the NPR audience is liberal – the very people who seem the least willing to confront the illiberal ideas of Islamic theology. The information war may not truly break open for the side of freedom until several high profile liberals begin to see Islam for what it is and are willing to criticize it in public.

Aside from the writer’s weak arguments, there are several non-sequiturs which would be funny if the question of the jihadist’s intent were not so serious. He mentions CAIR as a group promoting “bridges of understanding to unite and strengthen America.” The article closes with a quote from President Obama that reads thus: "Islam has always been a part of America.”
Well, maybe so, but if Islam is not challenged, it will soon be a part of the worst in America - right along with Slavery, Neo-Nazis and the KKK.
I wish that I could be in Arlington. I would like to hear how El-Gamal makes an answer to tough questions. But I live on the other side of the country. Good luck Mr. Spencer.
