A few days ago I picked up this story from the JTA, claiming that an appeals court had removed the unindicted co-conspirator designation from CAIR and several other Hamas-linked groups. It turns out that the story was false.
The actual ruling is here, and it doesn't bear out the JTA's story, or the story from the Leftist pseudo-news site Politico, upon which the JTA relied. Here is an explanation from Z Street: "Still tainted by terrorism ties," from Z Street, October 25:
[...] You see, the courts did NOT decide that CAIR or its fellow-terrorist-travelers are not actually terrorists or not actually terrorist enablers. What the courts did was rule that the government should not have made public a document it attached to a brief in May, 2007, which the government then referred to as a list of unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing case. The case determined that the so called Islamic Charity actually existed almost exclusively to support Hamas, the Arab Palestinian terrorist entity.
In fact, thank you so much to CAIR and to ISNA and to NAIT. In the course of trying to get the courts to clear their "good" names, those organizations gave the courts and the government lawyers nearly half a dozen opportunities to point out that the government presented evidence during the trial of the organizations' connections to Hamas. In other words - the fact that there was a violation of the organizations' Fifth Amendment rights because the organizations were publicly named as having close connections to terrorist entities in a document - and the organizations had no opportunity to defend themselves in that document - really didn't amount to a hill of beans because evidence was introduced at trial of those same connections. In fact, the government witness, testifying under oath, referred to CAIR as a Hamas front group....

Robert, you're going to make Dougie cry.
This is actually quite important. It's imperative that whenever possible, we in the anti-Jihad must make a public issue of CAIR's status as an un-indicted co-conspirator. Part of this process entails shaming media organs that seek out CAIR's views for comments and particularly those that refer to CAIR as a "civil rights" group.
I told you that the opinion stated only that CAIR and the other unindicted co-conspirators should not have been "outed". They were in no way cleared, in fact the judge said there was "ample evidence" of NAIT's ties to both HAMAS and the terrorist charity HLF.Common sense should have told people that CAIR would have been crowing had the organization actually been removed from the list of unindicted co-conspirators.
We still need to out the CAIR chairman, North Carolina State Senator Larry Shaw (D-Fayetteville). He has a food service company that has contracts with military installation around the nation. This gives him easy access to our military installations and military members. We are unable to get our useless media here in NC to even address the facts.
We need to expand the number of ACT! for America chapters throughout the world and to make sure each and every military installation has an ACT! chapter to support our troops and to be run by the wives, husbands, family, friends, and the entire community surrounding the installation. Our military is on the front line fighting the war against Islamic terrorists while America's "back door" is wide open. We absolutely must seal our borders to prevent the next wave of illegal alliens-jihadists!
We are asking our military to protect us by going overseas to die fighting Muslim terrorists; are you willing to become involved before they have to fight Muslim terrorists here in America? We want to start an ACT! chapter in memory of each fallen warrior. By the way, we are fighting to install Shariah law in Iraq and Afghanistan; here all this time we have been told we are installing a Democracy.
