Thiruvananthapuram: Contesting from prison, an accused in the sensational case of chopping off the hand of Thodupuzha Newman college lecturer TJ Joseph, has won from a block panchayat division in Ernakulam in the civic body elections.
Anas won from the Vanchinad division of Vazhakkulam block in Ernakulam district on a ticket of Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI), political arm of Popular Front of India (PFI), whose activists were allegedly behind the attack on Joseph for preparing a question paper containing blasphemous references to Prophet Mohammed.
First, whose prophet? And Joseph was then fired in addition to being maimed.
Anas, now in judicial custody and lodged in the Viyyur central jail in connection with the case, won from the division defeating the nearest UDF candidate by a margin of more than 1,000 votes, while the LDF candidate came third.
The accused, who contested the seat after getting permission of the local court, could neither campaign for the poll nor cast his vote. Anas is the 47th accused in the case.

I am not sure why one TJ Joseph lost his hand - but I have faith in human nature. And it is the nature of the hindu in Kerela I am particularily enamoured with.
Muslims were obviously going to vote for the man - but it was not going to be enough - he needed hindu support too.

The bottom line is that hindus have learned to love muslims - and muslims in turn love how hindus jest love the discipline that it brings to their community.

As in the Sudan 'Muhammad Teddy Bear Case' the 'blasphemy' simply had to do with accidentally using the name Muhammad as that of a personal name which is an easy mistake to fall into as every other a-hole you meet in these countries is NAMED that. Seems he was a CATHOLIC and his sister who is a NUN and his mother were with him were ALSO attacked at the time. He taught at Cardinal Newman College - make that recently beatified SAINT NEWMAN. Certain Muslim organisations, assuming that ‘Muhammad’ in the passage was Prophet Muhammad, took offense and staged protest rallies and clamored for action against the professor. Stones were thrown at the college run by the Christian church.”

The fact that someone isn't considered a barbarian in your Islamic religeon for cutting off someone's hand only proves that your relgion is full of intolerant uneducated barbarians. @ Roland there is ideological difference between Hindus & Christians however Hindus are more compassionate than any other religions and races. I am a practicing Christian from Kerala yet I always say India is a heaven for Christians while comparing with any OIC countries. In Kerala what ever the political affiliations a Muslim will vote to a Muslim only in any election. These PDF & SDPI are nothing but offshoot of Al Ikhwan Al Muslimah and their ultimate aim is Ummat Al Islam. The Christians some how managed to understand this however Hindus couldn't. Kerala is a Lebanon in waiting. The biggest mistake what left is doing is that they are axing their own branch by making alliance with this terrorist group.
