They need to make up these hate crimes because they just aren't happening enough to make them look like victims.
In 2008, the USA's hate crimes stats showed the vast majority of hate crimes were racialy motivated, with the highest number occurring against black people, followed by Jews. Hate crimes against Muslims and Christians were at almost the same level.
No doubt the US figures have changed since then, but I don't believe for a second that anti-Muslim hate crimes are anywhere near as widespread as anti-semitic ones, in any part of the world, yet Muslims are always portrayed as the major victims.

Regarding the earlier posting, this reminds me I have yet to see a woman in a face veil who looks happy. The face veil ensemble seems almost invariably completed by an expression lacking in vitality, in joie de vivre.
For that matter, in the picture included in that post, I also have yet to discern a human form behind the burqa on the right.
It's worse than those puzzle pictures where you're supposed to stare out of focus until you see the little sailboat in the background.

Where I live there seems to be a general competition ongoing among Muslim women. The scarves are growing bigger, more layers put upon layers, the dresses are becoming more and more voluminous, obscuring and face covering. Quite young girls are being wrapped up now.

Eid and Diwali are being celebrated alongside Christmas in a council-organised display of lights.
Although the Muslim and Hindu events have already passed, the lights are being kept up by Rochdale Council in order to ‘represent the community’.

Those long, loose fitting, gowns have a usefulness in a hot desert environment. It protects the skin from direct sunlight, and provides maximum air-circulation. I've not seen many of those costumes in my neighborhood. Once, a while ago, a couple in the park, a guy with a woman(?) companion in the full get-up. I got the sense the guy was using his burquad partner as a way of marking his territory the way a dog pisses on a fire hydrant. I kept my distance, from them both.
Australia has judges with back bones! Would they mind being held up as role models for our own judges to emulate?

There was a case in Germany where three Muslims set fire to their restaurant 'La Sirenetta' in Neustadt. Insurance fraud except they made it a hate crime hoax by painting swastikas on the walls.

You should have CLOSED your distance and played some orchestra or symphony music full of *haraam* horns and strings. I live near a park that is extremely close to a mosque known to have accomodated some of the 9/11 hijackers. Everytime I go to the park I make a point of presenting myself in the most "kuffar" of ways,such as bbq'ing pork on days that fall within Ramadan, so as to let the aroma travel well inside the den of thieves. Another favorite tactic is to look them straight in the eye and say, "Allah Mahabe", or "God loves you". They get so pereplexed becasue they have no idea what that means. They hear the allah part and smile, then when you say mahabe, they look so bewildered. Most of them have never heard the words "God" and "love" in the same sentence. My version of Gandhi's non-violence method.

You are linguistically correct, Treah. But writing from the birthplace of giant burritos (San Francisco's Mission District), I can tell you that ordering "carnitas" does indeed generally get you slow-roasted, finely minced pork.

Hate Crime hoaxes come in all shapes, colors and sexual orientations and the Islamic ones are only a subspecies. Still they are very telling when they play on the Muslim's sense of victimhood and of being oppressed. I would say that the Muslim is pre-disposed to make himself/herself a victim, in particular when in so doing an Infidel can be accused: the central tenets of Islam are all about persecution and oppression and the derived justification for revenge/raids/conquest.
There is nothing to say that she may not have had some or all of the children *before* she converted to Islam.
Hey, with any luck, we may get to find out, if she gets herself onto Tabloid TV to tell us her life story.

There are a few good reasons why burqas should not be allowed anywhere outside the desert:
1)Concealment of identity.
2)Concealment of facial expressions/body language, something we all use to judge what a person is saying. It makes it easier to lie.
3)Privilege of person who is covered in not being judged while everyone they encounter is.
4)Statement of burqas that islam is here and is to be seen & acknowledged, staking territory. Personally they remind me of the "Rayah" the black flag of jihad, a reminder that "it's only a matter of time until we conquer you too.
5)They compromise peripheral vision which is of prime importance when driving.
6) Oppression of women & muslim males marking their territory
7) Commission of crimes like stealing, baby snatching and ability to flee the country easily. Wear it & because no one is allowed to see who's under it, deny you wore it in the first place.
8) And as far as I know they are not a legitimate religious requirement.
But it is good for a bad hair day.

Most media reports seem not to make distinctions between hijab, burqa, niqab, khimar, chador, etc. and other forms of what passes for Islamic high fashion. My guess is that nearly everyone here knows the differences, though.
