Feel safe? This little boy has been strip-searched for your protection

This video has already gone around the world and back, but it is worth posting here to emphasize that this whole absurd TSA controversy has come about because of the government's refusal to admit the nature of the threat. If the TSA, and the DHS, and the State Department, and all the rest of them, acknowledged the reality of the Islamic jihad against the U.S. instead of ignoring and denying it, it would be possible to formulate some sensible screening policies. That is the easy solution to this problem, and one that will never be adopted.

As I wrote here, the TSA wastes "huge amounts of time, money, and resources by pretending that everyone is an equal threat to launch a terror attack -- Baptist grandmothers in wheelchairs just as much as young Pakistani Muslim males. The only answer at this point, and even it is not perfect, would be to institute Israeli-style profiling of air passengers. The Israelis have run an efficient and terror-attack-free air service for years, without all these invasive security measures. But to emulate them, of course, would mean to recognize in an official way that Muslims are a greater risk to commit terror attacks than Methodists or Mennonites. And in today's politically correct environment, the Obama Administration and the TSA would rather see another jihad mass-murder of American citizens on the scale of 9/11 or worse than do anything to suggest that."

Video thanks to Pamela Geller, who has some good remarks on this issue here.

Remember all the pronouncements we used to hear during the Bush years, that if we did or didn't do this or that, that "the terrorists will have won"?

Well, now, with frisking screaming 3-year-old girls and strip-searching little boys, I think we can safely say that—in this area, at least—that THE TERRORISTS HAVE WON after all.

Of course, under Obama we no longer refer to "terrorists" at all—let alone Islamic Jihad and its vicious foot soldiers.

The moment I saw this, Reza "The Arab" Aslan, in his smiling picture on JW's home page right next to the video, seemed to be happy because it was an infidel boy, and not one of Aslan's beloved half-male mobile tents, who was going through that.

That is indeed an early Christmas present from Buraq Hussein and Janet Napolitano to all mahoundians, who must be laughing their camel rear-ends off at what they're making us go through.

Scanning and patting in the terminal is terminally stupid...They are going to allow a bomb into the crowded terminal, and catch it at the x-ray machine, with a hundred or more people milling around...The place to do these searches is in the parking lot, or across the street from the front door...It could happen that the terrorist would set himself off outside in the line, but at least it's not inside the crowded building or on the plane...

The Dry Bones artist, Yaakov Kirschen, did this cartoon strip last friday, pretty relevent methinks:

http://drybonesblog.blogspot.com/2010/11/terrorist-triumph.html

The Islamic Jihadists have achieved more than demanded by their no-fun-Allah in the Koranic suras, i.e., Q 8:12, Spoils of War , sowing terror into the hearts of unbelievers; they have also managed to sow ridicule amongst the 'unbelievers'. Obama/Naplitano's TSA is doing the job for them, while they snicker in their greasy bug ridden beards.

its time for the US govt. especially the TSA to talk to the govt. of Israel regarding airline security. They must start profiling people and concentrate on the high risk groups ie MUSLIMS!!!!!! We are at war and security is important so start getting an inventory of who belongs to the muslin faith.

Completely agree, John. The situation is becoming intolerable, as I think more and more people are starting to realize. It's insane to continue insulting thousands for the sake of sparing the feelings of one. Time to start profiling.

By the time the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are over and video clips of thousands of outraged citizens will have been posted to YouTube, the conservatives in Congress will have the necessary ammunition to force the TSA to abandon this ridiculous approach to security. It is up to us to make sure they do.

Sorry John, but given the ease with which Muslims continue to enter the US, no one will ever convince me we are "at war". We sure as heck don't act like it. Instead we bend over backwards to prove we are NOT at war with the Muslim world, even though their war against us is ongoing and everlasting.
Note how every threat we have faced has originated abroad and how does our government react? WE are the ones taking off our shoes, leaving our shampoo bottles and toothpaste tubes at home, emptying our drinks (or throwing them out) and now subjecting ourselves to x-rays or invasive pat-downs before boarding a plane. We most certainly are NOT at war.
Point to Iraq and Afghanistan and what are we doing there? We are NATION-BUILDING! Our military are brave people and they do their best but their role is one step above social worker. Heaven help them if the wrong person gets in their way as they try to kill the bad guys. They are reduced to attempting to prove their good will to people who will never be satisfied.
I don't even see how profiling would help. Had profiling been in place prior to 9/11 wouldn't Mohammed Atta have qualified as a "trusted traveler"? He traveled the same routes over and over, like many businessmen or reporters.
This country isn't Israel. How many flights take off from Israeli airports in a given day? Would we end up needing to be there four or more hours before a flight to get through the maze? You know the security people will find it necessary to include a "diverse" group in their profiling, rather than single out any one group.

This controversy should be recast as a Saturday Night Live skit.

Scene 1: News Anchor tells us that a terrorist plot has been foiled; the jihadist had a bomb in his body "cavity".

Scene 2: TSA begins body cavity searches.

Scene 3: Jihadists in a cave in Pakistan laughing their heads off.

It appears that our NHS headliners have been paying attention to the uproar against these ill conceived security measures and are none too happy about the growing volume of discontent.

TSA Statement from Administrator John S. Pistole
"We welcome feedback and comments on the screening procedures from the traveling public, and we will work to make them as minimally invasive as possible while still providing the security that the American people want and deserve. We are constantly evaluating and adapting our security measures, and as we have said from the beginning, we are seeking to strike the right balance between privacy and security. In all such security programs, especially those that are applied nation-wide, there is a continual process of refinement and adjustment to ensure that best practices are applied and that feedback and comment from the traveling public is taken into account. This has always been viewed as an evolving program that will be adapted as conditions warrant, and we greatly appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the American people. We cannot forget that less than one year ago a suicide bomber with explosives in his underwear tried to bring down a plane over Detroit. The terrorists allegedly behind the thwarted cargo attempt last month are out there bragging about how they will strike again. We all wish we lived in a world where security procedures at airports weren't necessary but that just isn't the case."

Note the terminology shift from the friendly e-mail invitation to comment on, "Searching", evolves to the more solicitous baiting candor within the website's invitation to comment on "Frisking" by Pistole.

It appears Pistole reveals a potential concealed intent in this word play. Dissenters beware, DHS is taking names. The following report from CanadaFreePress appears to confirm:

DHS & TSA: Making a list, checking it twice

The memo, which actually takes the form of an administrative directive, appears to be the product of undated but recent high level meetings between Napolitano, John Pistole, head of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA),and one or more of Obama’s national security advisors. This document officially addresses those who are opposed to, or engaged in the disruption of the implementation of the enhanced airport screening procedures as “domestic extremists.”

The introductory paragraph of the multi-page document states that it is issued “in response to the growing public backlash against enhanced TSA security screening procedures and the agents conducting the screening process.” Implicit within the same section is that the recently enhanced security screening procedures implemented at U.S. airports, and the measures to be taken in response to the negative public backlash as detailed [in this directive], have the full support of the President. In other words, Obama not only endorses the enhanced security screening, but the measures outlined in this directive to be taken in response to public objections.. . .

PS . . .of note also, Pistole is only seeking input from US Citizens. Undocumented travelers need not apply.

OBOWMAN CHANGES WAR ON TERROR TO WAR ON AMERICAN VALUES.

Don’t you know that on 9/11 the USA was attacked by 19 little kids screaming” Long lives Barney?” Obowman and Janet firmly believe this, so that why the enhanced tort….,. err security measures targeting kids.

TSA is the acronym for tits, scrotum and anus.

For all those muslim guys who have sucessfully completed the intensive full pat down search, remember, if you have an erection lasting more than four hours, please contact your doctor right away.

Has anyone else noticed that these indignities are akin to those of Abu Ghraib?

Here's a song to cheer you up when you kinda getting felt up.

The new TSA security procedures seem to confirm what I've been thinking for years: when terrorists succeed in killing, say, 25,000 people or more in a single event, we can expect surveillance to become all-pervasive. We Americans -- or many of us -- will be clamoring for it. And it will be hard to argue against it. The rapid advance of technology may very soon make it possible even for small groups with few technical and financial resources to kill large numbers. The question may then become whether a free society can be maintained somehow despite an increasingly all-pervasive surveillance. TSA's shockingly invasive tactics may presage a more radical transformation.

I wonder if our TSA has considered the Israeli methods of securing airline travel. They seem more sensible, effective, and realistic, not to mention humane.

They should put this level of security intrusiveness to a popular referendum.

A) we profile for likely suspects and have no other measures except quick walk-through metal and chemical detectors, or:

B) we keep this current level of strip searching and naked scanners for everyone without any rational profiling.

My vote: Profile PROFILE PROFILE

you posted

"The Dry Bones artist, Yaakov Kirschen, did this cartoon strip last friday..".

I saw that one, on the hazards of modern air travel. It was hilarious, in an awful sort of way.

I *love* his cartoons. I visit his site regularly.

Ladies and gentlemen.

How many of you clicked on Tziona's link, and how many didn't?

If you didn't, then you missed a good dose of best and bitterest Jewish humour.

Please watch my culturist video about the TSA situation. In it I suggest the language of "culturist" profiling to undermine the multiculturalists calling us racist.

I am the President of the Brooklyn Tea Party. In the video I ask other Tea Parties to go culturist, support Arizona's immigration laws, and denounce the Ground Zero mosque.

Thanks,

And if people really begin to protest they'll be beaten with clubs and pushed back by snarling dogs - all because the warders know best how to protect us! These TSA warders are sinking to the level of guards in the prison systems - submit or be beaten!

Republicans, step over to this line - you are the enemy!

New Security Measures Have TSA Groping In The Dark news at 11:00.

I was pulled aside, put into a little, clear cubicle, infront of all, like I was ready to explode. My crime? I wear an ankle brace that I was unable to take off.

Now, looking at the brace with COMMON SENSE (bad word, I know), it is crystal clear to the eye that in no way can anything be hidden in it. Due to the nature of my injury (which is permanent...so I'll be treated like a criminal forever), the brace I wear is quite form fitting....so if I was trying to hide anything but a piece of paper in it, it would show through.

Then, my leg was swabbed. They say that they use "just gauze". I say that is total BS, as I DO NOT have a reaction to "just gauze". By the next day, the entire area they swabbed had a burn that lasted 4 days. I complained to TSA, and of course they responded quickly (yep....4 months later, and not a peep).

Now, I am very concerned that out esteemed government will say...fine...don't want the machine and pat down...then biometrics, which is unacceptable as well.

Dogs and profile....Dogs and profile....Untill then...no flying for me.

I will not be flying to the United States, ever. It's bad enough here in europe where travel has become miserable. These people who strip-search little children are perverts. As far as I am concewrned if any man or woman touches me where these people are permitted to do so, then it is tantamount to a physical/sexual assault as it would be outside the airport. The world's gone mad, and I'm so disappointed in the United States succumbing to this outrage and allowing the terrorists to win and laugh at us all.
