Hamas discovers that some of its own fighters were killed in Israel's 2008-9 Gaza operation

After claiming for a year that nearly everyone killed was an innocent civilian. War Is Deceit, But Telling The Truth Is Easier Because Then You Don't Have To Remember Your Story Update: "Hamas Official Comes Cleaner on Gaza Toll," from IPT News, November 1:

To hear Hamas officials tell it, nearly every casualty in Israel's 2008-09 Operation Cast Lead was an innocent civilian. Nearly two years later, the group's interior minister acknowledges Hamas lost hundreds of fighters.

In an interview with the London-based Al-Hayat, Fathi Hamad said 250 Hamas fighters died in the three-week conflict, and another 150 "security personnel" were killed, too. Just after the fighting ended, Hamas claimed no more than 50 of its people were among the 1,300 casualties.

Israeli officials reported nearly half of those killed in the fighting were tied to Hamas or other terrorist groups.

Israel launched Cast Lead to stop missile fire from Hamas and other terrorist groups that targeted civilian communities. The fighting exposed how Hamas used schools, mosques, apartments and other areas to both store weapons and launch missile attacks....

.................

Will any of the useful idiots in the West who demonstrated against Israel—in New York, and London, and Berlin, and Toronto, and San Francisco, and so many other places—rethink their actions upon hearing this news from Fathi Hamad?

Somehow I rather doubt it.

It begs the question, what is wrong with the minds of the leadership of Israel that they'd allow terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah to continue to exist when they obviously seek nothing but the total de-legitimization and annihilation of Israel and its inhabitants?

As long as these jihadi terrorists continue to breath they will do nothing but spew vile hatred and lies against their sworn enemies-the Jews. They've brainwashed by their evil death cult to do so (and they indoctrinate their kids as well). Wipe out the jihadists and only then you'll have true and lasting peace.

Obviously the "international community" (consisting of anti-semitic muslim states and leftists) will rain down their condemnation but they must be ignored because they're no friend to Israel.

Can I join the Israeli military as an over-40 non-Jewish Canadian? I don't mind digging ditches or whatever it takes to help.

Check it out -- and God bless you!

Just more proof that when Muslims speak it should be assumed that they are lying rather than the other way around. Such mendacity is the typical way of followers of any totalitarian ideology, be it Islam, fascism, Marxism or whatever.

By contrast, those who live in free societies (and continue to possess free minds) are almost infinitely more likely to be speaking the truth when assessing things. This is instructive in the first degree for all those who have retained their common sense. The retention of common sense would, of course, exclude not only those beholden to a totalitarian ideology but also so many who are enamored with modern liberalism, the adherents of which are ordinarily far closer to totalitarian thought than they realize. Just look at political correctness, multiculturalism, speech codes and so-called hate laws for ipso facto evidence of attempts at thought control, always a hallmark of totalitarianism if ever there were one.

Again it is crystal clear there are two major enemies of real liberty in our time---Islam and the Western Left. The big double whammy against free people in free societies continues. No one of sense should be surprised at all that these two are so often allies in this silly age in which we live.

Will mankind make it through all this nonsense? Yes, I think it will, but not before much tragedy and crime occurs, courtesy of the world's most awful religion and courtesy of those major (and clueless) apologists for the world's most awful religion, modern liberals. Yeah, some conservatives still don't "get" Islam, but they are becoming fewer and fewer with each passing year. Again, instructive.

The sad thing is that the truth doesn't matter because like that hot date, first impressions are the lasting impressions. This is why Jihadists don't care if they are proven wrong later, its that first impression that galvanizes their forces for all time.

Hasn't Hamas explained that filthy Zionist trick of telling the truth, just to get everyone else confused?

Islamic math strikes again...

Heidi2027,

Many thanks.

interesting letter in jpost.com:

Collaborators with oppression

Sir, – Caroline Glick (“The Age of Dissimulation,” November 2) voices her well-founded frustrations with the widespread unwillingness to criticize Islam. One reason for that is fear.

Islam protects itself from internal criticism by making apostasy a capital offense. Even when highly respected scholars dare to call for reform, they take their lives into their hands.

For example, Prof. Abu Zayd, a leading Egyptian Koranic thinker, was accused of apostasy and forced to flee the country after he openly opposed the jizya, or poll tax on unbelievers, as discriminatory.

Dr. Ahmed Mansour of the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Cairo was imprisoned for six months when he dared to challenge the authenticity of some of the hadiths. The Sudanese reformer Mahmoud Taha was assassinated. Author Salman Rushdie is still in hiding since the Ayatollah Khomeini declared him an apostate for The Satanic Verses.

Islam also protects itself from external criticism by making blasphemy, even by non-Muslims, a capital crime. The fatwas and murder attempts against several Western artists and cartoonists attest to the dangers of violating Shari’a, or Islamic law.

Criticism is thereby muted, but badly needed reforms are retarded because of the inability to point out errors.

The resulting stagnation of Islamic society may be regrettable, but the ignorance and cowardice of people in the non-Muslim world is inexcusable. While some people may congratulate themselves as tolerant, they are really just unwitting collaborators with oppression.

It begs the question, what is wrong with the minds of the leadership of Israel that they'd allow terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah to continue to exist

According to Barry Rubin, it is the US which is preventing Israel from wiping out Hamas. Israel unfortunately asks for American permission to do just about anything. Here is an article explaining why: http://shmuelkatz.com/wordpress/?p=349

"War is deceit."

"I have been made victorious through terror."

- Mo the Warlord

I would have no problem carrying a rifle and fighting with the Jews...I have been a member of an Army competition rifle team and certainly still have the skills to acquire and hit the target. You don't have to be a Jew to fight terrorists.

My question is - how does one tell the difference between the Hamas civilian and the Hamas soldier?

The soldier is the one hiding behind the civilian.

Why even disclose this now except to needle us and Western media for being so credulous? Bastards.

Never forget who these men are and what they are capable of: marrying off grown men to unsuspecting prepubescent girls in exchange for martyrdom.
