"No Muslim tolerates a man who commits blasphemous acts."
"Man accused of blasphemy killed in Pakistan," from Indian Express, November 18 (thanks to Weasel Zippers):
A man accused of blasphemy was shot and killed near his home in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore shortly after being granted bail by a court, according to a media report.Imran Latif, 22, was accused of burning pages of the Quran in a case registered at Sherakot police station in Lahore and spent five months in jail.
He was released on bail on November 3 after the man who filed the complaint of blasphemy told the court he was not sure that Latif was guilty.
Latif was shot by armed men near his home on November 11 but police learnt only later that he had been accused of blasphemy, the Express Tribune newspaper reported.
Inspector Rafique Ahmed, who is investigating the murder, said Latif's killing was likely linked to the blasphemy case. "No Muslim tolerates a man who commits blasphemous acts," he said.
Latif's family had not mentioned the blasphemy case when they reported the murder, he said.
Latif's 60-year-old mother Sharifan said two men armed with pistols had knocked at the door of their house near Pir Makki shrine on November 11 and asked Latif to accompany them.
"A few yards from the house, they suddenly opened fire," she said. She said her son was shot five times and the attackers fled on a motorcycle.
"There were policemen present in the street but no one tried to stop them," she said....
"The blasphemy laws are being so widely exploited here. It seems that the life of a person ends when (he is) accused of committing blasphemy," said Mehdi Hasan, chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan....
Yes.
Witch trials. Welcome to Pakistan.
And why is Western infidel aid going to that barbaric, hate-filled Muslim tarpit?
Standard MO: The Christian is released, either on bail or just set free, and then let "nature" takes its course.
This is a standard method for executing Christians, which avoids the harsh criticism of the Pakistani government and judiciary from the world outside.
We all remember the two Christians gunned down outside the courtroom after being acquitted of blasphemy, or the prosecutor in another blasphemy trial snarling "I can't tolerate to see this blasphemer standing in front of me; I really want to kill him with my own hands".
And now we hear a police inspector blithely telling us that "No Muslim tolerates a man who commits blasphemous acts". Combine this with the braying crowds outside the courtrooms and we wonder why there's even a need for Blasphemy Laws when obviously the Pakistanis are managing tremendously well without the help of honest judicial process.
This is a recurring theme. Back in the 80s, a Pakistani air-force officer converted to Christianity and was imprisoned for the crime of apostasy. Bowing to international pressure, the local court acquitted him, but he was shot outside the courtroom just after his release.
Moral of the story? It's NOT corrupt governments that are the problem...as the apologists would have you believe. It is in fact the culture of Islam which instills into the Muslim individual (and the Muslim mob) some potentially very, very dangerous proclivities.
Once again Muslims kill based on allegations not proof...Muslims use Islams blasphemy laws to get rid of whomever they want to get rid of...and it is open season on Christians...and the Muslims are hunting..
Wow. Sounds like he'll be pursuing this case energetically. Not.
The difference between communism and sharia -- communism pretended to be rational and scientific. Therefore, as communism failed empirical tests, people began to abandon it. But Islam and Islamic law do not submit to reason and science. They are thus much harder to dislodge from people's souls. Disproofs frequently only make fanatics deepen their fanaticism.
Sorry OT, but check this out: gaming the system has become a sport for Muslims....
“All Cops are racist”
Gaming the system:
COVERED from head to toe in a burqa, with just a slit through which to see, a Muslim woman charged with making a false complaint to police now argues she has been a victim of mistaken identity.

We're on skid row....
I assume that Imran Latif was unarmed. The mighty warriors of Islam are shameful cowards.
If he tore up a koran, he was armed with the truth. They wanted to snuff him out because his life exposed their life to be worthless. Darkness hates the light.
IF he tore up a Qur'an.
We don't know that he did anything of the kind at all; only that someone *said* he did.
I find it perfectly plausible - indeed, far more plausible - that one of his dear ever-lovin' Muslim bruvvas, who has got it in for him for some reason, *trumped up* the accusation.
And then stand back and let allah's enforcers go to work. Hey presto! unwanted and disliked fellow Muslim, all gone.
Of course, whoever made the accusation could meet the same fate, one day, if *they* p*ss off a murder-minded neighbour who then decides to spread it about that 'I saw so and so tearing up a Qur'an'...
behind the curtain of these murders there is also often a concealed profiteer motive...
'nice land you HAD there'.
Following the 'perfect' Profiteer example.
The police probably notified the murderers when he'd be available for "completion of his sentencing".
"The blasphemy laws are being so widely exploited here. It seems that the life of a person ends when (he is) accused of committing blasphemy"...

Yes—a person accused of blasphemy is not safe anywhere in Dar-al-Islam. Even people acquitted of blasphemy have been murdered, sometimes while leaving the courthouse.
More:

As several posters have already noted, this was said *by a police inspector*. This is not just the action of some "extremist"—support for the murder of "blasphemers" is commonly held by the Ummah, including the police and court staff.
