I noticed in the story Marisol posted here about a toy pig being pulled from a farm set that someone remarked, "This is political correctness gone loopy."
That sounded familiar, so I searched the site and found eighteen stories posted here over the years that contained some variation on the idea of "political correctness gone mad," and six more containing the phrase "political correctness run amok." It seems as if political correctness has a general tendency to go mad, to exceed the boundaries of reason, and to outrage common sense and common decency.
And it's true: banning toy pigs and piggy banks, building huge mosques in prisons, renaming pubs -- all this and more done in order to avoid offending Muslims -- it is madness embodied, and yet it is simultaneously the very embodiment of political correctness and multiculturalism: the myth that Muslims are perpetual victims, and that the West is the perpetual aggressor, and that placating Muslims in this way is rational and worthwhile.
In other words, political correctness gone loopy, political correctness gone mad, political correctness run amok, is the natural state of political correctness itself. It in itself is a form of madness, an inversion of truth and reality, and a rewriting of history.
Consequently free people must reject it in all its forms. Above all that means never accepting the Leftist/Islamic supremacist narrative in any detail -- the charges of "racism" and "fascism" against decent people, the characterization of freedom defense initiatives as manifestations of "hatred," etc. Freedom fighters can all too easily allow themselves to be put on the defensive. Don't let that happen to you. Remember that yours is the side of truth, and the politically correct side is the party of madness. Point out their contradictions, lies, and travesties of logic. Always be ready with the facts. And never, ever, give up.
Political correctness is nothing but a license to lie with the aim of not offending the real guilty parties!!! Right now it is being solely used to "defend" Muslims from the truth being exposed about them and their ROP!!
And who is doing this lying - who else but the MSM and liberal press, TV news etc. They have lost all their credentials as honest and truthful journalists. They only practice "yellow journalism".

There's nothing correct about it. It's simply the parties in power bullying the opposition into submission, on the penalty of being accused of being not-correct, a.k.a. a nazi/bigot.
Simple really. 20 years ago I knew Muslims who I counted as friends. Perhaps I, then naive. was being duped. 20 years ago perhaps not.
Bottom line is that now I am no longer naive. I can never again trust a Muslim.
I really DO want ALL of them expelled from MY country. I KNOW that many are not a danger but they fail to deal with those who are dangerous. ONE bad apple and all that though directs my thought.

Well Walt, I can add this to your observation.
It seems to me that whenever I am in a discussion about Islam and its counterpart Democracy it is invariably the other party that pretty soon seeks an excuse or posits a rude remark to terminate the discussion. Usually because of a lack of knowledge and appropriate answers.
This is not only my experience but it can be observed on TV and on the internet in many discussions; The anti-Islamic pro-Democracy debater is generally more zealous, more knowledgeable than his/ her political-correct opponents. Who much more seek arguments designed to terminate the current and all debates.
But I think that certain controverses can result in violence and war unless patiently and properly debated and "our side" seems to have the diligence, knowledge and patience to play out a long debate but the Political Correct people, let alone the Muslims, they just want to stifle it, or even force it to stop. Almost in an arrogant fascist-like way.
Humans evolved into different peoples, who then developed different cultures, developed different tongues, and founded different countries for a reason - because different groups of people are _different_ - humanity is quite biologically diverse.
The problem, I think, comes with the confusion between the meaning of the words "race" and "species". Sci-fi/fantasy is REALLY bad for confusion the issue, using the word "races" where "species" should really apply (humans and orcs, for instance, would not be two races of the same species, even if one evolved from the other.) I mean, we don't talk about the "dog race" and ignore the different breeds, do we?
Once we realize that we are different from each other, and acknowledge that countries should be different from each other (instead of being mediocre "multicultural" things that are the same wherever you go), the world might become a little better.
Though I'd still like to know why it is that only "white" countries are the only ones that are supposed to be "multicultural" and the only ones who need "cultural improvement" from backwards shitholes, whereas the shitholes are supposedly fine the way they are.

Oh, I suppose the Europeans thought that allowing the mass immigration of Muslims from the Middle East and Pakistan would have no adverse impacts. But one only has to observe the present day problems England, France, Sweden, the Netherlands and other countries are experiencing with non-assimilating Muslims demanding special treatment, including the implementation of Sharia law. There are many Muslim enclaves where even the police and firefighters are reluctant to go, and uncovered non-Muslim women are harassed and insulted.
You evidently think that "stealth jihad" and demographic conquest are nothing to worry about. Many European countries are on the way to becoming Islamic within the next 25 years or so, if current trends continue.
Most of us understand the potential threats to democracy and freedom from meekly conceding to islamist demands, and that surely includes the 70 percent of Oklahoma voters who protested the implementation of Sharia in any form in their state.
One thing we can all count on: Islamists will continue to probe us for weak points and attempt to take advantage of every legal stratagem to gain advantage for the eventual imposition of Shariah, bit by bit in this country, and to make any criticism of Islam or its founder off-limits...
