Shifting the focus: arson attack against Oregon jihadist's mosque

Generally after a jihad attack in the United States, whether successful or not, mainstream media outlets run multiple stories about how Muslim communities fear a "backlash" against innocent Muslims from enraged "Islamophobic" rednecks. Of course, such "backlashes" never materialize, but the purpose of such stories is to shift the public's attention away from the reality of Islamic jihad and onto the fiction of Muslims as victims, living in fear of vigilante attack in the United States. In reality, hate crimes against Muslims accounted for only eight percent of crimes thus classified in the U.S. in 2009, according to a recently released FBI report. Blacks and Jews were far more likely to be victimized - and far less likely to be the subject of fawning media reports featuring hand-wringing over a "backlash" against them.

But in this case, there appears to have been a genuine backlash: an arson attack at the Salman Al-Farisi Islamic Center in Corvallis. The FBI offered a $10,000 reward for information, and FBI spokesperson Beth Anne Steele thundered: "The FBI would not tolerate any retaliation on the Muslim community as a result of that arrest."

If this was truly a retaliatory vigilante attack following Mohamud's attempted jihad bombing, then it is hateful and must unequivocally be condemned. It is important to note, however, that while the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the FBI and local police to protect the mosque, CAIR and other Muslims have not hesitated to stoop even to fabricating "hate crimes," including attacks on mosques. CAIR and other groups like it want and need hate crimes against Muslims, because they can use them for political points and as weapons to intimidate people into remaining silent about the jihad threat.

Was the arson attack against the Islamic Center in Corvallis a staged event designed to deflect attention away from Mohamud's jihad attack and onto Muslims as victims? There is no way to tell unless law enforcement officials consider this possibility, which they should do given the many faked incidents in the past. But whether they will actually do so is another matter.

"FBI to aid investigation into arson fire at Corvallis mosque," by Molly Hottle for The Oregonian, November 28 (thanks to all who sent this in):

Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation have been called in to aid the investigation into an arson fire at the Corvallis mosque where Portland bomb plot suspect Mohamed Osman Mohamud sometimes attended.

The fire at the Salman Alfarisi Islamic Center was discovered by an on-duty police sergeant at about 2:15 a.m. today. It took firefighters 10 minutes to put it out and it damaged about 80 percent of the office it was contained to. No one was injured.

Sunday afternoon, U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton and Art Balizan, FBI special agent in charge for Oregon, visited the Corvallis Islamic center.

FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele said it's standard for the agency to become involved in attacks on religious groups, but that the possible connection between the fire and the arrest of Mohamud makes their involvement even more important.

"The FBI would not tolerate any retaliation on the Muslim community as a result of that arrest," Steele said. "We have an ongoing relationship with the Muslim leaders
in Corvallis. This is of high concern to them."...

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the fire....

"We have made it quite clear that the FBI will not tolerate any kind of retribution or attack on the Muslim community," Balizan said. "We are working very closely with the leadership at the mosque. We will find the person responsible for this attack and bring the full force of the federal justice system to bear. In the meantime, the FBI remains absolutely committed to protecting each and every American's right to live, work and worship in a free and safe society."...

An inside job. A contained "office" fire isn't very symbolic in terms of retaliation for an attempt to blast a hole in the city of Portland. My guess is that incriminating records and papers went up in smoke early this morning.

"Was the arson attack against the Islamic Center in Corvallis a staged event designed to deflect attention away from Mohamud's jihad attack and onto Muslims as victims?"

My opinion -yes. And many people commenting on columns in the Oregonian aren't afraid to say so.

Oh, and here's the obligatory "Muslims fear backlash" column!

*cough! cough!* Marietta! *cough! cough!*

Muslims always do this to divert attention. Its usually small fire or brick thrown at basement window. Muslims are pathetic and are mainstream media outlets.

So, someone broke into this mosque in retaliation of the terrorist wannabe that attended there, and only set fire to one office?

Sounds a little too surgical to be some retaliatory redneck in a liberal state like Oregon.

This fails the smell test.

Burn any incriminating evidence and blame it on backlash to shift the focus from the mosque's possible involvement in radicalizing Mohamud, and cover up the livelihood that there are more youngsters out there who have similar ambitions to kill Americans as Mohamud intended.

Similar thing in Germany. Since the Sarazzin Book (on the perils of the German Welfare State, one out of nine chapters dealing with Mohahmmedan immigration), Mohammedans here are once again desperately looking for hate crimes/backlash. So far none of them in sight. Therefore they get to work:

1. All with a sudden a wall of the Sehitlik Mosque in Berlin was lightly torched (exactly during morning prayer time, just some flames, just in the presence of gloomy looking bearded men).

2. Today the Al Noor Mosque (Berlin, big Saudi money) had some small flames spotted. Location of fire? Same as at Sehitlik. Little office, outside wall, no damage done. What did worshipping Mohammedans claim? Nazi-Backlash because of the "supposed" US-Jihadi, who was just a poor black kid supressed by the Imperial Aggressor USA and tricked into doom by the all knowing, all controlling FBI and CIA.

As Kafir One ably describes: "Its usually small fire or brick thrown at basement window. Muslims are pathetic and are mainstream media outlets."

Just so. In both German mosque fires. What did Mohammed say? "War is deceit."

My view that it might have been an inside job has already been reflected in the comments.I hope[and am sure] that the FBI of the U.S. is not as politically controlled as the CBI of India,as to make unwarranted arrests [i.e. arrests just for the sake of it]like they do in India to promote the idea that there is something called 'Saffron Terror' by the majority community in India.

To prevent attaks by the kuffar, CCTVs and other camera technologies should be installed by law enforsment agencies at all mosques in the US(and other western countries too);-). The cameras should both face away from the mosques and towards it and connected live with anti-terrorism dept, for maximum security of the mosques from the terrorist kuffar;-)

At this point, I'm willing to believe that this is another faked "hate crime". What can you expect from people who have a whole sect that loves to beat itself to a bloody pulp on Ashura?

FBI is not politically shackled as the CBI is in India.
But it is certainly paralysed by politically correct postures.
Each operative of the FBI may individually be smart enough to understand that the muslims are trouble wherever they appear, the PC atmosphere does not let them make decisions or operate after taking this into account.

Crazy like a fox. "Investigating" an "arson" at the Muslim Brotherhood forward operating base in Portland is probably the "in" the feds have been unable to get since their dimwitted dhimmi politicians banned the JTTF.

Oh please, let us help you...we'll come in and interview witnesses and everything. Let's take a look around and see if anything else is damaged...

Too bad it drags along the stupid people in America using the erstwhile victim narrative.

They should know better. Quarterback sneak.

And, not for nothin', but really...an inner office? Arsonists go for sacred spots (I know....I know).

Regardless of whether or not it was an inside job, the mosque was torched at 2:15 am, when no one was around.

Mohamud, on the other hand, deliberately chose a time and location where hundreds of people would be killed or maimed.

Both are criminal acts, but one is property damage and the other is attempt to commit mass murder.

Lets cut all of the bull. No muslims no prolblem. Deport every last one of them from the western world. End of problem. Then deport all their liberal supporters. Job done.

Howdy

KKKnight Templar

There still will be problems even if you deport all Muslims and their liberal and moderate supporters to "someplace(?)" else.

It would also be unconstitutional. It is my understanding that conservatives have a certain affinity for the constitution. But I may be mistaken .

I don't know wether or not the arson attempt at the mosque was or was not an inside job. Is it possible? Yes. The fact that there was little damage and it occurred when no one was at the mosque is suspuious.

I do not know if the mosque was a Shia or Sunni mosque. It is only the Shia sect of Islam that practices "whipping itself to a bloody pulp". And not all Shia do it. The reason that it is done is: It is commemorated by Shia Muslims as a day of mourning for the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad at the Battle of Karbala on 10 Muharram in the year 61 AH (October 2, 680 CE[1])." This was done by Sunni Muslims.

I would also add that religous flagellation is also practiced by Christian:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagellation#Christianity

"The Flagellation refers in a Christian context to the Flagellation of Christ, an episode in the Passion of Christ prior to the Jesus' crucifixion. The practice of mortification of the flesh for religious purposes was utilized by some Christians throughout most of Christian"

history, especially in Catholic monasteries and convents.

In the 13th century, a radical group of Christians, known as the Flagellants, took this practice to an extreme. The Flagellants were later condemned by the Catholic Church as a cult in the 14th century. Self-flagellation remains common in the Philippines and Latin America. "
