The New York City Council has declared Tuesday, December 14 to be "Hate Wal-Mart Day," and will hold a hearing against Wal-Mart entitled "When Wal-Mart Comes to Town." AFDI/SIOA will be there to point out the City's astounding inconsistency and hypocrisy in working to ban Wal-Mart from New York while doing everything it can to facilitate the construction of an Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero.
This is not about Wal-Mart. It is about consistency from City officials, and about justice for the 70% of Americans who oppose the Ground Zero mosque.

This is a very clever move by AFDI/SIOA! People who might shy away from Ground Zero Mosque arguments will be more likely to be riled up by the anti-Walmart stance of the New York City Council.
Very clever. A clear representation in an event of how Moslems while freedom loving Americans are disfavored. Almost as good clever as the Spencer/Horowitz organized a series of nationwide events to discuss on college campuses how women are treated in Islam.

Yes—when Wal-mart comes to town, small retailers are forced to close. Then, music stores are banned. Music stores that do not comply are bombed. Their owners are accused of blasphemy and set upon by screaming mobs.
Women who shop at Wal-Mart are forced to veil, and those who do not comply are beaten or publicly flogged. If they persist, they may be imprisoned. Men must wear beards at least a fist-length below their chins, and those who do not comply are beaten. Barber shops are forced to close.
Open displays of Christian crosses, pork, and wine are banned. Display of artwork with human figures is banned. Shops selling alcoholic beverages are forced to close.
Christian churches destroyed by Jihad terrorism are not allowed to rebuild, while triumphalist mega-mosques apply for federal funding...

Hmmm.. Can I be allowed to be against the mosque and against Walmart? The chain does little for the community they do business in except to pay a little-over-minimum wage and part time at that. Then they supply their employees with the "how-to" info on getting food stamps and section 8 and all the other low-income freebies. Plus Walmart is not enviromentally green in any form. Why here in San Diego they were fined for dumping car oil waste and other toxic substances down the city drains.
Then again, if the city council would see fit to let Walmart take over "Park 51;" I would have to say, "Go for it!"

Sam Walton has been dead for many years. I met Sam when he opened store # 1,002. He was a decent and honest gentleman. Anything Wal-Mart is today is not his fault other than the fact he was non-union and Wal-Mart, today, remains non-union. Were Sam alive today, I think he would be saddened by the amount of Chinese crap in his stores.
