How many converts to Islam must engage in violent jihad plots before the mainstream media starts asking imams what they're doing to ensure that no one in their congregations misunderstands Islam in this way? Authorities say a man has been arrested in the Baltimore area for plotting to blow up a military recruitment center in Catonsville....U.S. law enforcement officials told CBS News that the case was "similar to Portland." Mohamed O. Mohamud is accused of trying to detonate a van during a Christmas tree lightening ceremony in Portland, but the FBI infiltrated the plot in its early stages and supplied Mohamud with fake explosives.
The Baltimore man is expected to be charged with attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and was under surveillance by law enforcement for months.
Sources tell CBS that the man is 21 years old, a United States citizen and a convert to Islam.
The source told CBS that he had been "mouthing off" to friends and "wanted to retaliate against the military for the wars," and when others heard about it, "they wanted nothing to do with it."

The US is on the strategic defensive. We can play the best defense in the world, but we are not going to stop this war (Win it) by doing so. Defensive warfare sucks!! We can expect attacks like this to only only continue, but increase in both frequency and effectiveness.
The problem with defensive war - we have to be right 100% of the time, the terrorists only need to be right once.
Fortunately, the majority of these would be jihadists appear to be young. People in that age group have a biologically based problem in keeping their mouths shut.
You know, the Singaporeans require all converts to Islam to be registered.
Now I think I understand why.

'Hugh: I still say that the Singapore solution will work in most Western countries. We would just have to overturn centuries of legal tradition and jurisprudence to implement it. I particularly like how the President is the ultimate Imam and decides what is false doctrine for Muslims. Now, if only Tony Blair could do that!
