Better yet, why should Israel capture Palestinian fighters and then release them? They must KNOW beforehand that these fighters (terrorists) are going to return for more slaughter of innocents.
Well, now that they have thrown in the communists, which includes China, it means we outnumber them. Maybe China would like to have a shot at them.
It is truly amazing that so many on the left still buy in to the Palestinian and Islamic propaganda about the poor Palestinians being brutalized by Israel (this is just as ridiculous as the claims by certain Egyptian sources that sharks were purposely used by Mossad agents to attack persons swimming in Egyptian coastal waters).
The reality is that Hamas and Fatah (as well as Hezbollah and other islamists) want Israel to be destroyed, and all jews and Christians in the Middle East eliminated.
I do not understand why most of our political leaders, academia and the media cannot understand this simple truth!

I think they understand. They simply agree to the Arab demnads, that's all. Israel was a useful ally during the cold war. Now the cold war is over. They have a lot to gain from siding with the Muslims - oil, money, power. Israel is an obstacle to their relations with the Muslims. Give Israel to the Muslims - problem solved.
Of course, they can't just come out and say that to the public. They have to persuade the public Israel desreves it, that Israel is evil, racist, blood thirsty, quasi Nazi, that it's Israel's fault that American soldiers are killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and that there are terror attacks in the west. So that's what you get in the media. Simple. When it's time to finally wipe us out expect "reports" in the media about death camps where the Israelis are supposedly conducting genocide.
Why aren't they doing much about the slaughter of Christians in the Middle East? It's incovenient to their relations with the Muslims.

A question: Do Patriarch Gregorios, Archbishop Bustros, and so many of the other Christian leaders in the Middle East watch tv? In Orthodox and Melkite and Syriac and Coptic Sunday schools do they teach "jihad?" Probably not. But I bet they teach plenty about the poor suffering oppressed Palestinians and the wicked Jews and Westerners.
