Being charged with driving 'without due care and attention' is a sight better than being charged with attempted homicide. Get the picture?

Although I loathe the concept, 'hate crime' (what crime is not hateful, after all?), I don't every recall a Muslim being charged in the US with a hate crime. Aren't most crimes committed by Muslims a model for why 'hate crime' legislation was created in the first place as most perpetrators express (verbally and with actions) their hate for Americans and/or Christians or other non-Muslims.

What's up with that?

Most of America's laws were created in the 1776 - 1800's - 1900's, back when people were Christian. Most of America's laws are also fit for a civil society, and assume innocent until proven guilty, and assume that most people are decent at heart and not criminals.

Sadly, most of America's laws are stuck in Christian-based "good neighbor" naievete, and are ill-equipped to deal with the subversions of Islamists, and how they will use our own laws against us, particularly through litigation jihad.

You strike a good point, Buraq. I wouldn't put it past Islamists to take advantage of American jurisprudential naievete in assuming that all traffic accidents are unintentional, and thus give Islamists a free ticket to cause mayhem while claiming it was an accident. Yup, he "accidentally" ran into a grandma, a nun, and two girl scouts on his way to the Mosque.

Islamists have a history of car-based violence, such as ramming cars into airports in Scotland. Since a lot of potential Islamists might be employed with cab companies (or is that raaaaaaaaacist to imply that there might be hidden fifth columnists embedded within Pakistani and Arab expatriate communities, many of whom are employed in the taxicab industry?) and given the spate of at least five articles that Batman/Dajjal (referring to Robert of course -see the reference in archived articles) provided, it would be prudential to take caution, and profile to save your own life.

Don't get in any cab unless you can help it. You never know when Sudden Jihad Syndrome(TM) will strike, and one of them decides to turn his vehicle into a kamikaze run against the infidels, with a couple of hapless infidels stuck in his cab as sacrifices to his pagan false statue moon god.

Looks like the humble traffic cop is one of our front-line defenders against Sudden Jihad Syndrome.

Final thought: this bloke was driving a van. Other Vehicular Jihadists had SUVs or other large-ish vehicles.

Another sudden jihad syndrome victim with another moderate muslim. This muslim was entrusted with driving a blue shuttle van. I have seen these vans and they are like small buses. Doesn't that make you comfortable to be driven around by a muslim or how about being flown around by a moderate muslim? I view this as playing Russian roulette.

While not exactly a hit and run is the usual sense, don't forget the father of Sarah and Amina Said who used his taxi as an execution chamber to kill his daughters because they wanted to be more western and modern....He has fled the scene and there is an outstanding warrant for his arrest...

It is not true that motor vehicle incidents are always treated as accidental. 47 states have laws against "vehicular homicide", and I think that in the other three the use of a motor vehicle to kill someone can still be charged as murder. Many states (I don't know the number) also have statutes against "vehicular assault", and again, I think that in the others a person can be charged with assault where the weapon is a vehicle. Law enforcement generally tend to say little about what charges may be laid early on because they just don't know enough.

Wasn't there an article in a recent edition of Inspire magazine, Al Qaeda's magazine, about how Muslims should drive their cars into non-Muslim civilians as a form of jihad?

The furious family of a young woman left for dead by a callous hit-and-run driver said they were “speechless” after the cold-blooded culprit was told he’d spend just six weeks in jail.

Pretty victim Amy Verlander, 22, was in a coma for three weeks after being brutally mowed down as she waited for a taxi and is still in a wheelchair seven months after the sickening smash.

Brave Amy, who works for the Independent Police Complaints Commission, has been in and out of hospital since the devastating collision on Burdett Road in Limehouse, east London, on September 2nd last year.

She was left with a catalogue of horrific injuries including a broken neck, spinal injuries, a punctured lung, fractured pelvis, crushed diaphragm, shattered ribs and a broken arm.

It was only thanks to the actions of a passing motorist – who flagged down a police car – that Amy, of Poplar, east London, survived.

The driver who mowed down Amy, 28-year-old Mohammed Rahman, claimed he fell asleep at the wheel and did not realise he’d hit anyone – despite a smashed driver’s window and blood pouring from his ear.

Rahman, of Limehouse, east London, who works part-time as a waiter, even took his car in for repairs on the Monday – two days after the smash – but did not report it to police for 11 days.

Judith Woodforde, prosecuting, told Thames Magistrates Court today that Rahman fell asleep at the wheel after driving home from work in Epping.

She said a witness, Anjem Choudary, said he had been driving his Toyota Yaris “hard”. Mr Choudary told police he thought the car had struck a “large bin because the noise of the impact was so loud”.

He admitted charges of careless driving, failing to stop and failing to report the accident at an earlier court hearing.

British citizen Rahman, who is of Bengali origin and doesn’t speak any English, was sentenced to a total of three months in jail.

But Amy’s mum and dad, who were sat in the public gallery, heard that he would only have to serve six weeks behind bars.

They told how their lives had been “shattered” by the accident and slammed the “joke” sentence.

Driver in court after fatal crash

A taxi driver has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of a 17-year-old from the Black Country who died as he tried to hail a cab.
Father-of-six Ghulan Hussain, 44, of West Bromwich, appeared at the town’s magistrates’ court on Friday.

The incident started in Hollyhedge Road, West Bromwich early on Sunday. Scott Poll’s body was later found in Hall Green Road, a mile away.

Mr Hussain was remanded in custody until a hearing on 26 May.

We were delighted when the Government bowed to pressure and brought in tough new laws.

Readers hoped deadly motorists would finally get the jail terms they deserved.

So did Sun Sport columnist Charlie Catchpole — until his son-in-law was mown down in a hit-and-run.

Now Paul Dix, 38, lies in a coma, unlikely to recover. And Charlie’s daughter, Charlotte, has been left to pick up the pieces and try to comfort their little son, Freddie.

Although the driver, Amirunnes Hassan, did not have a valid licence and failed to stop, she was fined just £50.

I'm wondering how big this shuttle van was. At airports I've seen various shuttles, ranging in size from a Plymouth Voyager up to a regular city transit bus. I assume this one was pretty big, since it sustained damage from six collisions and was still running.
Ah, just answered my own question. WUSA.com has a picture of the van (and the driver), and it looks like a standard soccer-moms mini-van, maybe 8-passenger. I'm surprised it was still running after all those collisions. Just think of the damage he could have caused with a larger vehicle, like one of the rental-car or hotel shuttles used at large airports.
Also, WUSA notes that Teshale was just hired this Nov. 1st.

I sure as hell hope so. Hit and run is nasty business—but in the most common scenario, a reckless, drunk, or otherwise impaired driver hits someone, then drives off to avoid arrest, *not* so he can continue to hit people.

In other words, while the average hit and run is a cowardly crime, it is *seldom deliberately malicious*. Not so here.

You see, for a couple of months I've been thinking back to a video I'd seen on Serbrianna.com. I couldn't get it out of my mind. BTW. A great great website for anyone interested in informed analysis of the Balkans

A few weeks - months? - ago on Serbrianna.com there was a video of a Bosnian Muslim woman driver knocking over and killing a Bosnian Serb cyclist. The tape had - from the position and movement of the camera - been taken by a CCTV camera. And it was completely blatant and calculated and the intention was obviously, from the outset, to kill the dreaded infidel.

It was a CCTV at a junction/crossroads and the Bosnian Serb cyclist was cycling past a line of cars that were, obviously, waiting for the red light to change, in the opposite direction. Suddenly from the back of the line of waiting cars comes this car, which quickly accelerates right into the evil Infidel, killing him. The motorist continues on as if nothing had happend, driving towards the direction of the camera and then out of view.

I'm not sure but the area of Bosnia but it could have been Zenica which is truly a hotbed of Nutjob Islamist belief.

I've been trying to dig it up from the depths of Serbrianna.com's vault hidden way down in the Earth's core.

This comment is a combined reply to this story and the one about Robert Spencer's death threats that were added to the story about the email threats to the Cincinnati mosque.

Since I live in Kentucky and only 25 miles south of Cincinnati, I have heard the news reports of the mosque threat over and over for the past two days. The news media is trying very hard to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Now I don't know where Mr. Spencer lives but if he is the least bit concerned about his safety I would hope he does live in a place in America where he has the right to carry a concealed weapon and exercises that right every day because he is an indispensable asset in the war on terrorists.

That brings me back here to Kentucky where we do have that right and it should be noted that because of that concealed carry law we seem to have very little crimes of violence.

Want to know of another law we have in Kentucky, that relates to the Dulles Airport Muslim driver? Failing to control a vehicle is prosecuted as a Felony whenever their is bodily injuries and the crime becomes Assault with a deadly weapon, the vehicle being the weapon. These laws in Kentucky seem to make us a very polite and respectful bunch of citizens. P.S. we also enjoy a cost of living that is only a half of that in other places such as New York.

POLICE have discovered pictures of Osama bin Laden at a Gold Coast home linked to a worrying new bikie gang called Soldiers of Islam, whose members include former Iraqi soldiers.

Photos of the fugitive al-Qaeda leader were found recently at the home of a gang member during a criminal investigation.

Soldiers of Islam, also known as Sons of Islam, is believed to be an offshoot of outlaw bikie gang the Bandidos, which has a clubhouse at Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast.

Sources say the gang, comprising young Muslim men who sport "SOI'' tattoos, has sprung up on the Glitter Strip relatively recently.

While only small in membership, the gang is coming under increasing attention from police investigating bikie links to crimes involving drugs, guns and violence.

"They are relatively new on the Gold Coast scene but seem to be involving themselves in some scary things,'' a source said.

The Courier-Mail understands that apart from the Bin Laden photos, police did not find any terrorism-related material at the Soldiers of Islam member's house.

Middle Eastern gangs, while active in Sydney, have only recently been making their presence felt in Queensland and particularly on the Gold Coast.

Police have identified bikies from Sydney as being involved in the drive-by shooting murder of Gold Coast father-of-two Omega Ruston outside McDonald's at Burleigh Heads on Australia Day 2008. The case remains unsolved.

One of the Coast's most notorious bikies is Lebanese-born Yassar Bakir, who joined the high-profile Finks gang several years ago.

Bakir was last month convicted of importing GBL, a chemical used to make the powerful drug "fantasy'', and was jailed for six years.

The trial heard Bakir used violence and threats to force another man to import the drug into Australia from China.

Bakir was also charged with the attempted murder of a former professional rugby player, cage fighter and Japanese Yakuza bodyguard, who was pumped with bullets on the Southport Spit in 2006.

However, the charges were dropped after the victim failed to show up to court to testify.

Another Finks bikie of Middle Eastern descent, Richard Savage, received a suspended sentence in 2007 after admitting to a violent rampage at Gold Coast Hospital because of delays in his wife getting haemorrhoid surgery.

The court heard Savage told terrified nurses he was "the king of the Gold Coast'' and threatened to get 30 Finks to "trash the hospital until his wife was operated on''.
