Pakistan: Muslim doctor arrested for blasphemy for throwing away business card of man named Muhammad

Want people to hold on to your business card? Change your name to Muhammad. Sharia Alert from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. "Pakistan doctor arrested on blasphemy suspicion," by Ashraf Khan for The Associated Press, December 12 (thanks to Mackie):

KARACHI, Pakistan -- Pakistani authorities have arrested a doctor on suspicion of violating the country's contentious blasphemy law by throwing away a business card of a man who shared the name of Islam's prophet, Muhammad, police said Sunday....

Naushad Valiyani, a Muslim doctor in the southern city of Hyderabad, was arrested Friday after a complaint was lodged with police alleging his actions had insulted the Prophet Muhammad, said regional police chief Mushtaq Shah.

The case began Friday when Muhammad Faizan, a pharmaceutical company representative, visited Valiyani's clinic and handed out his business card. He said when the doctor threw the card away, Faizan went to police and filed a complaint that noted his name was the same as the prophet's.

Shah said police were investigating whether Valiyani should be charged with blasphemy.

Dozens of Pakistanis are sentenced to death each year under the blasphemy law, though most cases are thrown out by higher courts and no executions have been carried out. The law, however, is unlikely to be repealed because the government's ruling party -- largely secular -- relies on the support of Islamist groups....

And they all seem to misunderstand Islam.

You've got to be kidding. No, come on, that's just too ridiculuos, it can't possibly be true.

Why isn't giving a child that name and printing it on the business card itself blasphemy?

What does his printer do with misprints? What does the complainer do with his cards when he changes firms? Is throwing away X-mas cards with his name on them a capital offense?

What do they do with all of those old phone books?

What becomes of the newspapers that contain this story?

If this is a crime, then the entire population of Pakistan are blasphemers...

should we conclude that the name should never be written again?

"should we conclude that the name should never be written again?"

Sashland -- YES. Or spoken. But when world peace sets in, what the heck are we going to talk about?

I vote China. China will be the next marauders. The Mohammedans have taken us by surprise, but we can be proactive on the China front.

Islam is setting the Infidels up for a lot of misery....there are a lot of Muslims name Muhammad and in a variety of spellings...Muhammad is the number one Muslim name no matter how you spell it...

The Muslims will be offended for anything you say or do regarding the name Muhammad...no matter how you spell it..

Where Muslims are dominant and Shar'ia law is in place ...you could be put to death for tossing a business card that carries the name Muhammad...no matter how you spell it..

Quick. someone call the Oklahoma Judge Vicki Lagrange-Miles and let her know this minute detail from the religion of Islam and it's Shar'ia law....She thinks Shar'ia law is OK...

While Googling the traitor to find her phone number, I find her here:

Just the beginning, indeed. The beginning of the end.

insane islamic culture is insane

Just some more Islamic psychological terrorism. Pakistan, another heart of darkness. The master of psychological terrorism was Muhammad, the fabricator of the Quran, who really knew how to terrorize with over a hundred references to fearful hellfire therein, not as punishment for immorality, but for not believing him.

Islam is based only on Muhammad - it all comes out of only him - and I suspect that this outrage at a perceived insult to Muhammad is really an outrage at the implied insult to themselves as dupes for so stupidly believing in such a man whom they could see as a fraud if they were not so hellfire terrified to even consider for a second such a thought.

Clearly, in order to prevent such blasphemy, the use of the name "Mohammed" should be prohibited. I'm sure that CAIR will support this effort to preclude offense to Muslims.

And Marauder Boy (Mohammed) had a magic, flying horse. Did you know that? But of course -- and the horse just happened to fall from heaven right on the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

Check out this crapola from YNET.com. Israeli media is as Islamified as the US MSM???

***Iranian students threaten to destroy Esther's tomb***

Protestors in Hamadan warn 'Zionist leaders' they'll 'destroy lowly murderers' mausoleum if Al-Aqsa mosque assaulted in any way'

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3998079,00.html

NOTE THE GARBLING:

"Al-Aqsa mosque compound is Islam's third-holiest site, after Mecca and Medina, and is the place where Muslims *believe* the Prophet Mohammed made a night journey to heaven on horseback.

It is the holiest site in the world for Jews, who *believe* it was the location of the Second Temple, torched by the Romans in 70 AD."

Belief in a flying horse (and that the Western Wall is really the Al-Buraq Wall where Al-Buraq, Muhammad's horse, fell from heaven) is equated to a standing structure we can see and feel to this very day.

>>>Somebody shoot me

I think I lobbed this on the wrong thread. Oh well.

..the government's ruling party -- largely secular....

Secular?!?!??! In what way? They have a Ministry of Zakat and Ushr and their Ministry of Religious Affairs has a division that '...advises the legislature whether or not a certain law is repugnant to Islam, namely to the Qur'an and Sunna.

Can anyone tell me how this makes the Pakistan Government secular?

It's hard not to laugh - these people are insane.

What about the many publications and news bulletins that carried the name AND PICTURE of Mohammed (gasp!) Atta after 9/11. With all the paper that must have been disposed of, surely blasphemy was rampant in the Muslim world in late 2001.

I seem to recall hearing or reading that in Saudi Arabia, they can't throw away old newspapers because they have Quranic verses printed in them.

They must be swimming in trash.

Can anyone be so infuriated by the trashing of a business card, as to wish to see the "trasher" die? Think about that.

"Don't throw my business card away, or I will try to have you killed for it."

To all Mohammedan Mohammeds out there: Screw you and the prophet you rode in on. Now--come and get me.

That's pretty much the way I read it.

Mr Muslim Salesman tries to get dr to sign up to products from his company.

Mr Muslim Dr refuses.

Mr Muslim Salesman stamps off and thinks, 'Right. I'll **get** you. Blasphemer!! Blasphemer! Blasphemer!"

That's how the blasphemy and apostasy laws are set up; to enable folks like Mr Failed Salesman Faizan to take out their resentments upon others.

If you're living in a sharia society, there is no way you can feel safe, even if you're the strictest most devout Muslim that ever was.

Because if someone takes a scunner to you, and decides to howl 'Blasphemer!' or 'apostate!' then you've had it. (Or they may simply kill you first and then get off by claiming you were a blasphemer or an apostate).

If you're female, of course, then at any time from age six onward, *no matter how slavishly submissive and passive you are*, you may be out-of-the-blue accused of zina and sadistically executed by the men in your life or by any other male who decides he'd like to enjoy the blood fun of murdering a woman (often after first raping her); if you're particularly pretty, it may even be other *females* who decide to accuse you of 'zina' in order to get rid of you..and thus the Court of Sovereign Village Gossip can select any girl or woman to be the victim of an 'honor' murder or worse, a public stoning.

The government that considers offense against Muhammad to be blasphemy should itself be charged -- not with blasphemy, but with terminal idiocy.

Sounds like early Salem Village.

Dear dumbledoreans - What does take a scunner to mean?
Except that item, what you say makes sense. Muslim society with its plethora, its superabundance of rules and regulations, its legalistic mentality, after all turns out to be, for practical intents, a society with no law at all except the law of the jungle.

Can these morons be ever taught to use their gray matter if it is still alive and kicking??? In all probability it is already dead for not using it as shown by such incidences!!

The expression 'to take a scunner to' means 'to take a strong dislike or aversion to [someone or something'.'

It's a phrase used in Scotland and in Northern England.

I can't remember where or when I first heard it or read it.

That's amazing, muslims find new ways for us to insult muhammed and allah, just write down those names and than destroy them in different imaginative ways.
It’s also amazing that the muslims are always blaming other religions to be idol worshipper. Yet these muslims hold holy not only names but structures. If you desecrate them or insult them in a way you can be marked for punishment or even a death sentence. In other religion object by them selves aren’t holy unless they are used in worship and made holy. This way the muslims are the most fanatical idol worshippers of all.

And just think, the Left lionize Muslims for "all the persecution they suffer"

Pfft - look at all the persecution they inflict!

Have you ever heard of a similar case in any other religious community? No way!

So, in my quest for knowledge I seek the answer - what is the proper way to dispose of business cards?

And, I find guidance: [weight and wrap and throw them in a river]

I'm thinking that "Do Not Bin" in comment #3 means "Don't throw in the trash bin", yet the emoticons are something of a revelation. Take a look. Well, at least the yellow one isn't smiling...

he has a website full of much advice, and he is not shy about his opinions. Enjoy your readings.

Thanks for the link, so the proper way to desecrate the name of muhammed and allah, besides not capitalizing them, is to wrap the writings in bacon and bury them, or just burn them and hope they go to a fiery hell.
I wonder if just writing muhammed or allah followed by nonhalal words such as pig or bacon is also considered haram? for example ," pigs muhammed bacon". That’s another question for the imam.

A more complete report is in the AFP sourced account in Google News

"The arrest was made after the complainant told the police that Valiyani threw his business card, which had his full name, Muhammad Faizan, in a dustbin during a visit to his clinic," regional police chief Mushtaq Shah told AFP.

"Faizan accused Valiyani of committing blasphemy and asked police to register a case against the doctor."

Shah said the issue had been resolved after Valiyani, a member of Pakistan's Ismaili community, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, apologised but local religious leaders intervened and pressed for action

The key fact is that the doctor is an Ismaili. Not as vulnerable as a Christian would be, but still liable to persecution. The Ismailis are rejected by many Sunni and Shiite theologians as a heretical sect of Islam.

I'd be willing to bet the REAL problem here is that she wouldn't give him sex when he tried to force himself on her.
Muslim POS thought that since she was a Christian he deserved it.
I'm also willing to bet she didn't like the smell of camel.
