500 Islamic clerics and scholars misunderstand Islam, praise murderer of Pakistani governor who opposed blasphemy law

"Qadri had 'revived the 14-century-old traditions of Islam' and made Muslims around the world proud," said their statement. They must be a gang of greasy Islamophobes.

"Salman Taseer's killer an Islamic warrior: Pakistani clerics," from PTI, January 5:

A group of over 500 Pakistani scholars and clerics have described the policeman who gunned down the Punjab governor Salman Taseer as a 'Ghazi' and have warned against any expression of sympathy for slain PPP leader, saying it would tantamount to an act of blasphemy.

Warning the people not to lead or offer funeral prayers for Taseer, 66, the clerics part of Jamaat-e-Ahl-e -Sunnat Pakistan, a grouping representing the moderate Barelvi sect of Sunni Muslims praised the Elite Force policeman Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri and called him a 'Ghazi', an Islamic warrior.

The outspoken Taseer who was known for his liberal views and who supported changes in the controversial blasphemy law, was gunned down in a posh market in the heart of Islamabad on Tuesday.

The clerics said in a statement issued last night, "Also, there should be no expression of grief or sympathy on the death of the governor, as those who support blasphemy of the prophet Mohammed are themselves indulging in blasphemy."

Praising Qadri, the clerics said he had killed Taseer for calling the blasphemy law a "black law".

Hailing the "courage" and zeal of Qadri, the clerics and scholars said his action had made all Muslims proud.

A leader of the ruling Pakistan People's Party's 'ulema' or clerics wing led Taseer's funeral prayer this afternoon after several leading clerics of Lahore, including the imams of the Data Darbar shrine and the Shahi Masjid, refused to do so.

The cleric of the mosque at the governor's house, who is a Barelvi, too refused to lead the prayer, sources said.

The statement issued by the Jamaat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan was endorsed by the grouping's 'ameer' or chief Syed Mazhar Saeed Shah Kazmi and over 500 scholars and clerics like Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, Shah Turab-ul-Haq Qadri and Pir Ghulam Siddiq Naqshbandi.

Those "favouring the person who indulged in blasphemy are themselves blasphemous," the scholars and clerics said in the statement.

Paying tribute to Taseer's assassin and his courage, the statement described Qadri as a lover of the prophet Mohammed and a 'Ghazi' or Islamic warrior.

Qadri had "revived the 14-century-old traditions of Islam" and made Muslims around the world proud, it said.

The clerics and scholars asked intellectuals, ministers, politicians and media personalities who oppose the blasphemy law to learn a lesson from Taseer's death.

These personalities should "save their faith by announcing that they would desist from attempting to amend the blasphemy law," they said.

The Tehrik Tahaffuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat, which has been spearheading the campaign to oppose the repeal or amendment of the blasphemy law, too issued a statement that said Taseer had violated the laws of the land by supporting Asia Bibi, a Christian woman sentenced to death for insulting the Prophet.

Taseer's "irresponsible acts while in the office of the Punjab governor were inappropriate and offended" the Muslims of Pakistan, the group claimed.

Though a majority of Pakistanis adhere to the moderate school of thought, the Jamaat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan has thrown its weight behind the campaign opposing the repeal or amendment of the blasphemy law.

Where is this majority? What is it doing?

Hey Trojan Horse Hussein Obama, where's your voice now?! No, I bet we won't hear anything from him since cunning Hussein Obama is busy himself, ENSLAVING us, from Judeo-Christian and Western civilization, to Islam!

'Paying tribute to Taseer's assassin and his courage, the statement described Qadri as a lover of the prophet Mohammed and a 'Ghazi' or Islamic warrior.'

It takes courage to call blasphemy laws immoral, it does not take courage to fire 29 bullets into the body of an unarmed man.
Islam specializes in cowardice; sneak attacks, killing women and children, brain-washing children into doing its dirty deeds. There isn't a 'warrior' among Islam's slaves.

Maybe Obama should send Hillary or Biden to the funeral. Better yet, both. Let's show some support for moderate Islam, President Barry Soetero Odinga Hussein Obama.

YUP they praise the murderer and hate the murder victim. Any show of sympathy for the victim or family will be answered with more threats of killings! This is typical for Islam the religion of death. Why is this so? It is because "these men loved the darkness rather than the light for their deeds are evil" John 32:19

Killing off those who voice an opinion that differs from Muslims guidelines that are 1400 years old is the traditional Islamic way to handle the questions...

Fear and death are what Islam uses to keep the Muslim sheep in the pen...

" The clerics and scholars asked intellectuals, ministers, politicians and media personalities who oppose the blasphemy law to learn a lesson from Taseer's death. "

A perfect illustration of the hopelessness of reforming the demonic totalitarianism that is Islam. It is just too easy, given the violent and hate mongering texts of the Qu'ran and hadiths for a fundamentalist cleric to convince a Muslim or two to go forth and assassinate whom the cleric deems unfaithful to true Islam.

This "religion" is too perfect for psychopathic clerics wishing amass power. These clerics (always the human core of the problem) will always keep alive the intimidation of the "moderates" and make the would be reformers either ineffective or dead.

It would take a violent revolution, similar to the French one, in which the people under these clerics rise up and destroy these evil men.

that should be John 3:19

Once again Islam and Muslims show their true face!!! Why doesn't our stupid media give wide publicity to this news?? Obviously our MSN and the leaders are conjoined with Muslims and want to suppress the news or their PC agenda to promote Islam and Muslims may be in danger. But they don't realize that the truth has this bad habit of coming out in the open eventually and this facade of religion of terror(ROT) will come off!!!

The so-called "moderate" so-called "majority" tacitly agrees with the hard-liners. When you aren't held accountable for your extremism by your peers, you find it not difficult to get away with anything.

>"This "religion" is too perfect for psychopathic clerics wishing amass power. These clerics (always the human core of the problem) will always keep alive the intimidation of the "moderates" and make the would be reformers either ineffective or dead."

Just a slight correction to your statement:"This "religion" is too perfect for psychopathic clerics wishing amass power. These clerics (always the human core of the problem) will always keep alive the intimidation of Muslims and make the would be reformers either ineffective or dead."

The statement is true for all Muslims as there are no "moderates" nor is there any "moderate" Islam and Mo/allah's agent, the imams, control all Muslims with threats and intimidation!!!

Lawyers shower roses for governor’s killer

LAHORE: Lawyers showered the suspected killer of a prominent Pakistani governor with rose petals when he arrived at court Wednesday and an influential Muslim scholars group praised the assassination of the outspoken opponent of laws that order death for those who insult Islam.

Mumtaz Qadri made his first appearance in an Islamabad court, where a judge remanded him in custody a day after he allegedly sprayed automatic gunfire at the back of Punjab province Gov. Salman Taseer while he was supposed to be protecting him as a bodyguard.

A rowdy crowd slapped him on the back and kissed his cheek as he was escorted inside. The lawyers who tossed handfuls of rose petals over him were not involved in the case.

As he left the court, a crowd of about 200 sympathizers chanted ”death is acceptable for Muhammad’s slave.” The suspect stood at the back door of an armored police van with a flower necklace given to him by an admirer and repeatedly yelled ”God is great.”

More than 500 clerics and scholars from the group Jamat Ahle Sunnat said no one should pray or express regret for the killing of the governor. The group representing Pakistan’s majority Barelvi sect, which follows a brand of Islam considered moderate, also issued a veiled threat to other opponents of the blasphemy laws.

”The supporter is as equally guilty as one who committed blasphemy,” the group warned in a statement, adding politicians, the media and others should learn ”a lesson from the exemplary death.”

Jamat leader Maulana Shah Turabul Haq Qadri paid ”glorious tribute to the murderer … for his courage, bravery and religious honor and integrity.”

Mumtaz Qadri told interrogators Tuesday that he shot the liberal Taseer multiple times because of the politician’s vocal opposition to the harsh blasphemy laws.

Salman Taseer killing stirs mixed emotions

ISLAMABAD: The assassination of a senior member of Pakistan’s ruling party over his opposition to a blasphemy law has highlighted the religious fervour that can make the Muslim country so hard to stabilise.

Salman Taseer, a liberal politician close to President Asif Ali Zardari, was shot 14 times on Tuesday by a bodyguard who was apparently incensed by the politician’s opposition to the blasphemy law.

The accused killer, wearing a black hood, was transported in a blue armoured police vehicle for a court appearance.

Some people screamed “Allahu Akbar” (God is greatest) as he entered the court. Others throw rose petals and clapped.

Three hundred lawyers told a court they were willing to defend the member of a elite police force free of charge.

Anyone fancy doing a rain dance for Pakistan? ;)

I am disgusted that our governments are still sending those scum of the earth aid and money for fighting terrorism which just means transferring money straight to the kind of people who murder anyone who wants to drag the country out of the cesspit of it's own making.

The core of the "Islam Problem" can be seen in this incident.

Islam encourages killers to independently enforce Islamic law. And any Muslim may decide to fulfill his religious obligation on any day.

This killer was a bodyguard to the victim. But the killer decided that Islam was more important and he decided to fulfill his religious obligation.

Islam is filled with unseen killers like this guy. No one knows who the next killer is. Everyone is afraid of these killers. No one is willing to speak up.

Read my complete theory on these killers at

That's it. Screw Pakistan.

I got halfway through this before literally wanting to vomit.

There's no hope for these people. It's gotta be the inbreeding.

I think we better start thinking about destroying at least 500 people.

"Where is this majority? What is it doing?"

HIding under a sofa. Hoping the jihadis don't find them.
