Violent intimidation works. And until non-Muslims start standing up to it, it will keep on working, and the truth will be silenced. "Ayaan Hirsi Ali: 'Submission II is too risky,'" from Radio Netherlands, January 6 (thanks to all who sent this in):
Ayaan Hirsi Ali says she will not make sequels to her controversial 2004 film Submission, an attack on the treatment of Muslim women. In an interview for Dutch TV, the former Dutch politician said the risk to the crew and cast would be too great. The script for Submission II is ready for filming and a third part was planned, Ms Hirsi Ali says, but it would be necessary for producers, crew and actors to remain anonymous, and this would be "extremely difficult if not impossible".
Submission criticised alleged violence against women in Islam, and featured images of women's bodies painted with verses from the Qur'an. After the film was aired on Dutch TV, its director Theo van Gogh was murdered by a Muslim extremist. The filmmaker and broadcaster was an outspoken critic of Islam. He had insisted on being openly credited for his role in collaborating with Ms Hirsi Ali on Submission, which some Muslims criticised as blasphemous.
Fanatics
Submission II was to have tackled the position of men in Islam, including the oppression of homosexuals, Ms Hirsi Ali said in 2006. In part three God would have been portrayed speaking directly.
Ms Hirsi Ali denies her decision not to go ahead with the sequels was based on fear. Rather she says it was down to a sense of "responsibility". Creating a climate of fear was precisely the aim of Muslim fanatics, she says....
We need to blaspheme Mo and the Koran in every possible way until the Muslims fly into uncontrollable tantrums, then ridicule them even more for their tantrums, and repeat the process until they froth at the mouth and steam comes out of their ears.
If the film is too risky for actors, dispense with the actors. Animation is getting increasingly good, and people will sit through things as lame as Xtranormal videos.
Excellent suggestion, EP! I hope Ms Hirsi Ali takes this under consideration.
Hirsi Ali is getting too comfortable. She is wimping out and giving up the fight. I guess skiing in Klosters with the Rothschilds is more important.
It has occurred to me that, not allowing the immigration of any followers Islam into the UK etc should really be fine to both sides.
My thinking is this: If they are going to end up assimilating into these countries’ cultures, the 'true' followers, and their scholars, do not want that; as that would be apostasy and the lose and corruption of a Muslim brother and we do not wish to offend them by doing or allowing that of course.
Now, on the other hand, if the immigrate is intent on not assimilating because he is too devout and serious about Islam to be hanging out with infidels and taking Jews and Christians as friends (what to speak of others), then surely it would be right and proper for us to both question why on Earth he/she wants to emigrate to a non-Islamic country in the first place and to reuse him/her citizenship for his/her own good and ours.
Sorted, Phew! Now everyone’s happy.
I was having the same thought this week when I read the post about Muhammedic biographies.
Voice of the Martyrs has been distributing comic book-style materials which tell the strue stories of Christian persecutions in Pakistan.
Online media--anywhere, anytime. Learn the truth, be as graphic as the sura or hadith calls for...
And I cannot blame Ms. Hirsi Ali. Hasn't she suffered enough? Hasn't she lifted the heavy burdens at great personal risk? People who criticize her should walk in her --or Robert's or Pamela's--shoes for a day.
Engineer-Poet, I agree with your solution.
Violent intimidation works.
The 6th Pillar of Islam has consistently worked since this fine Moslem tradition was created that 100 degree Farenheit night when Mohammed, the Holy Prophet, put out a contract murder on the poet Abu Afak for daring to insult Islam.
*** 33:21 ***
Abu, a very old man, was sleeping outdoors when he was disemboweled that night.
So Ms. Ali knows her Islam and is playing it smart. Just like Matt and Trey.
It is up to us to carry on the fine work that Ms. Ali has begun.
The position of Men in Islam???
Watch this (pps) that tackles the position of...
"The Prophetess of Islam"
http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2011/01/prophetess-of-islam.html
Perhaps our society's chief problem now is not ignorance of Islam's tenets and history. Perhaps by now large numbers of educated people know the situation well enough to actively resist if they chose to. If so, our chief problem is not ignorance anymore, it's that not enough of us are willing to live by the credo "live free or die." The in-many-respects-very-courageous-but-in-this-case-dhimmi Hirsi Ali says, "too risky." Well, each of us has to choose our battles. We can't fight everyone all the time. But we have to be careful not to become too choosy.
But I'm not blaming Hirsi Ali. Which of us has taken as many risks as she has in resisting Islam? If she's wanting, then how much more are many of us wanting?
And perhaps education is still the major problem. Islam is such a vast phenomenon that it's not so easy to become an authority on it and speak authoritatively against it.
Thanks, enjoyed the video.
I sincerely hope they will reconsider making this sequel, silent submission to this is exactly the fertile ground Sharia law requires to infect & take over our way of life like a infectious disease. We must not remain silent even if it requires courage against their threats. They are fighting to take free speech rights away by regulating the internet, and public forums like talk radio. If we lie down as sheep, we can expect to be led away to slaughter!
CGI and animation are the way to go. They are the products of science.
Science (the pursuit of Truth by means of falsifying hypotheses - i.e., the celebration of skepticism and being wrong) is the greatest and most powerful enemy of Islam, the one that can destroy it one day. Muslims are terrified of logic and and critical thinking, let's give'em a taste of what it can accomplish and how their faith is defenseless against it!
Prediction - Some other movie producer will make a big expensive movie about the trials and tribulations of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a year or two from now.
And a year or two from now the U.S. will have a woman as President, and it won't be Hilary Clinton.
I greatly admire Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She came from a tightly-controlled clan-ish muslim society, went against her father and his entire clan and refused an arranged-marriage.
She started in the West with nothing and made her own life, turbulent though it's been.
But, her book "Infidel" describes the aftermath of Theo Van Gogh's murder; his children blamed her--even though she advised Theo not to reveal his participation in the film. My conclusion, after reading her account, was that she was devastated by this.
I do, though, hope she reconsiders. Like Theo, people should be allowed to make--and be responsible for--their own decisions about for what they will fight and what risks they will take. Her grief is understandable, but accepting second-hand guilt only plays into the hands of the islamic enemy she has fought to date and discourages others from standing-up against the mob. She's given us reason to expect better than that from her...
"CGI and animation are the way to go"
Agreed. Doing so eliminates the need for a human actor to stick his or her neck out in public. The credits can thank "All those who worked to make this film but who cannot take public credit due to the threat of Islamic violence".
One would hope that Ayaan Hirsi Ali would consider this approach if possible.
Although I am disappointed that she is cancelling Submission II, I will not criticize her. She has done much to fight Islam and she may have some guilty feelings about Theo Van Gogh's death even though it wasn't her fault. She still is under a death sentence and whether she makes S2 or not will not change that so I don't see it as her being afraid for herself. Whatever the case, I think the animation idea is excellent.
Good suggestion.
She has a website.
Contact her and suggest this.
A simple animation - one sees all kinds of clever things done by amateurs, on youtube - everything from stop-motion with lego bricks or dolls, to stick figures - could be very, very powerful.
Or use hand puppets, shadow puppets, marionettes...the possibilities are endless. Think of 'Achmed the dead terrorist'.
For the voices - technology allows us to disguise voices these days, no problem - in fact, a wholly machine-generated voice for citations of the Islamic texts [the Quran verses, Hadiths, quotes from the Sira] would allow for a downright creepy effect.
It wouldn't even necessarily require very many people. Strip it right down; everyone contributes anonymously; and then...turn it loose on the internet from about 1000 different entry points at once.
One would hope it would 'go viral', such that it would be pretty much impossible to track every single instance back to source.
Alternatively: don't put it on the internet. Something in digital form can be reproduced by everyone who has a copy, and then distributed not online, but by hand.
Burn it onto a disk.
Give the disks to several hundred people. They undertake to make multiple digital copies which they then pass discreetly on to *their* acquaintance; or judiciously leave about the place, like fliers.
If *I* for example had a copy, I could make 100 copies and give a disk each to everyone at church, no problems.
I object to the criticisms of Ali Hirsi made by some of the commenters here. She hasn't "wimped out" for fear of her own life, but has expressed fear for the lives of anyone having anything to do with Submission II, including showing it in public. She has correctly gauged the cultural environment and knows that it's grown worse in terms of speaking out against Islam and inviting retaliation by jihadists (with no Western court defending the victims of jihad). I dare any of her critics to have lived the perilous life she has and still maintained his sanity and moral stature as Hirsi has done for decades. If I were to ever meet her, I'd bow and kiss her hand. She is a princess and a woman to be admired and revered.
and then deport them once you've identified the orthodox amongst them.
brilliant idea EP.
