We want to fast because we love Moses more than - ideally, he is not challenging them that, no, we love him more, you love him less kind of a thing. But it's this impulse, it's this wait, this is goodness, this is a good thing.

Adhami then urged his followers to compete with other religions
"Wherever you are, compete, race with each other in goodness. This is the ethos, this is the driving force that compels the Muslim to say I want to be at the front of that discourse, even though it might be unpopular right now."
Adhami stated he recognized his views were "politically incorrect." Still, he repeated his assertion Muslims must compete with others.

It was announced last week that Adhami, 44, will take on the role of senior adviser for the proposed $100 million Islamic cultural center and mosque to be built near Ground Zero in New York City, the site of the 2001 World Trade Center attack....

It's impossible to have a meaningful dialogue with someone who is delusional. Or as Pope Benedict pointed out and has recently been reminded, you can't have a dialogue with Islam as it is a faith which is devoid of reason.

The real issue is that Islam is a corruption of the concept of religion. Mohammad was clearly paranoid, beside his host of other obvious mental illness symptoms, and had to protect his weak ideas with religious "traps" that keep people from questioning Islam, his special allahic (I made that one up) dispensations for extra wives, etc., and his poor knowledge of the Old and New Testaments. This lack of knowledge is why Mo had to state that the Bibles predating the koran, were corrupt--he didn't know s**t from Shinola about history--Alexander the Great, for instance, was not alive at the time of Jesus, and there are tons of other blunders. The 'perfect word of god that could not be duplicated by man', could actually be enhanced by a seven year old today with the knowledge we have. One of the ugliest stories—you find no similar story in the Torah—in Islamic texts about "Musa" is the story of Al-Khiḍr, the "green man":
Al-Khiḍr, realizing that Musa just had the Torah and limited divine knowledge to draw upon, informs him in a stern manner that their knowledge is of different nature and that "Surely you cannot have patience with me. And how canst thou have patience about things about which thy understanding is not complete?" Moses promised to be patient and obey al-Khiḍr, and refrain from asking him any questions, and they set out together.
Musa twice loses his "patience" over odd actions by Al-Khiḍr, and asks him about them. Al-Khiḍr reminds Moses of his warning, "Did I not say that you will not be able to have patience with me?" and Moses asks not to be rebuked.
Next, though, al-Khiḍr murders an inoffensive young man in cold blood. Moses again cries out in astonishment and dismay, and again al-Khiḍr reminds Moses of his warning.
Later, al-Khiḍr explains: "As for the boy, his parents were believers and we feared lest he should make disobedience and ingratitude to come upon them." God will replace the child with one better in purity, affection and obedience.

This touches on several disturbing Islamic themes—firstly, that Jewish prophets (even though supposedly "revered") are lacking in full understanding of "Allah's will"; that a good Muslim will not question Islamic authorities, no matter what; that things that appear evil—and that any decent person would *consider evil*—are actually "good" by Islamic lights; it treats children as mere possessions of their parents; and that it is permissible to outright murder a person on the mere *suspicion* of future disobedience to Islam.
And so comes the reason for the forbidding of questioning Islam. Mohammad rewrote the original Bible 600 years AFTER Jesus, replacing Jesus with himself as the main character and changing the centuries worth of revelation regarding who God is. When Mohammad was powerful enough to wage war, his Allah suddenly became the god of hate and domination and power and lust and every ongoing action of Muhammad was suddenly justified. Objectively, Muhammad's movement then became one of domination, control, plunder, and sexual abuse. The lost sea scrolls show that the present day Bible is basically the same as it was around the time of Jesus. So, which religion was derived?

Jesus' being a Jew is not a Western thing, but something found on the first page of the New Testament itself, in Matthew Chapter One. The very title "Christos" is the Greek translation of "M'shiach", or "Anointed One". That Islam misses it is one of the things that tells me that it cannot belong to the same spiritual tradition.
