Pakistan: Islamic supremacist groups to hold rallies protesting Pope's call to scrap blasphemy law

Still no word on those anti-bin Laden rallies denouncing the Tiny Minority of Extremists, but I'm sure they're just around the corner!

An update on this story. "Pakistan: Islamists criticise Pope's anti-blasphemy law comments," from AKI, January 11 (thanks to C. Cantoni):

Islamabad, 11 Jan. (AKI) - An alliance of Pakistani Islamist organisations said they would hold rallies to protest Pope Benedict XVI's remarks that called on the country to scrap an anti-blasphemy law which allows for the death penalty for insulting Islam.

"The Pope's statement is part of a conspiracy to pit the world's religions against each other,' said Sahibzada Fazal Karim, a member of Pakistan's parliament and the leader of Sunni Ittehad, an alliance of eight Sunni Muslim groups, according to Pakistani newspaper Dawn News.

Speaking on Monday during an address to diplomats accredited to the Holy See, Benedict called on governments to do more to protect Christians who have recently been the victims of violence in Egypt, Nigeria and Iraq.

He also called for the abolition of a law in Pakistan which cited last week's assassination of the Punjab governor Salman Taseer who called supported a Christian woman on awaiting execution for under the blasphemy law.

"I once more encourage the leaders of that country to take the necessary steps to abrogate that law, all the more so because it is clear that it serves as a pretext for acts of injustice and violence against religious minorities," Benedict said.

Karim called the pope's comments a "violation of the UN's charter of peace," saying they meddled in a sovereign country's internal affairs....

Get on that right away, Ban Ki-Moon! Jump!

Court convicts imam and son for blasphemy

Mohammad Shafi, 45, and his son Mohammad Aslam, 20, were arrested in April last year for removing a poster outside their grocery shop advertising an Islamic event in a nearby village which allegedly contained Quranic verses.

The UN has been hijacked by Islam and savage Islamic-ruled countries - I wonder how much money they're 'donating' to the UN? What say you, Mr. Ban-KI Moon?

Egypt Recalls Envoy After Pope Demands Protection For Non-Muslims
http://www.rferl.org/content/egypt_recalls_envoy_pope_demand/2273199.html

It's real urgent to bring non-Muslim refugees/migrants such as Christian Karen Burmese, Sri-Lankan Tamil Hindus and Tibetan Buddhists into the EU/West! The increasingly native-childless/few West needs to be freed from the increasing conquest by cunning population jihad of Islamic migration, where Muslim jihadists are stategically ENSLAVING both Muslim and non-Muslim women/girls, to breed like crazy!

I was just waiting to see how long will take Pakistani Muslims to call for demonstrations(aka riots)in the streets. Well, not long!!! Whenever anybody tells the truth about Islam, these morons are immediately out to defend it in the streets. If this religion is so weak that it can't withstand any scrutiny then it is not worth following it- when would Muslims understand this? Never, they know if we are allowed to dissect this religion with the truth on our side Islam has no chance of surviving - it only survives on superstition, intimidation, threats and violence against anybody (including Muslims) who tells the truth about it!!

That any Muslim can say this with a straight face considering the horrific increase in persecutions against Christians in Dar-al-Islam would be truly stunning, if we were not used to such bald-faced blathering.

Here's an article from the Guardian, showing what things are like back in Asia Bibi's village:

"Salmaan Taseer, Aasia Bibi and Pakistan's struggle with extremism"

Generally, that "struggle" would seem rather half-hearted in most quarters, to put it mildly.

Karim called the pope's comments a "violation of the UN's charter of peace,"

Oye vey! Here we go again with calling in the bleedin' UN! Are they relly so stupid to think the UN can solve anything? Twice in a week already, first Lebanon want's a piece of Israel's gasfield, now Pakistan wants a pot-shot at the Papa.

Of course the UN will be happy to oblige, they love to be "called in" to settle things in favour of Islam, it makes them feel important and that somebody actually loves them.

He was right when he said: “Show me just what Prophet Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman.”
Without blasphemy laws islam will simply disappear.

Of course you are right on this, Katharina. But our standing law on immigration policy somehow has ended up giving preferential treatment to Moslems. This law was brought to us by the Lion of the Senate, the never charged negligent homicide non-convictee Ted Kennedy.

Ain't heard the tearful John Boehner or the shifty Mitch McConnell talk about that, have ya? Bringing oodles of diversity and multiculturalism wearing robes is not up for debate. Sorry. Really, I am so really really sorry about hat fact I can barely stand it. When I think about legal Moslem aliens it makes me wanna cry.

I hope B16 stands by his condemnation of the hudud laws. Let the Muslims rage.

Actually, His Holiness was quoting the Byzantine emperor Manuel II Palaiologos (1391).

Imagine if these losers had to take time off work to go to a protest? Guess that's why they have so many protests in these God forsaken countries. They don't have anything better to do.

Memo to Imams: Monday: Feed the goats
Tuesday: Issue a fatwa
Wednesday: Call for protests re: fatwa
Thursday: Beat wife/other women...
