Afghanistan: Red Cross worker to be hanged for converting to Christianity

“Hello, Hamid? It’s Hillary…Yes, yes, peace be upon those who are rightly guided indeed…Fine, thanks, and you?…A double eagle on a par-5 hole! Wow, that’s terrific…Yes…Look, Hamid, about this Said Musa character, or Musa Sayed, or whatever. You know who I mean? Yes, that’s right, the accursed murtadd dog. Look, Hamid, I know how you feel, and you know how much I respect Islam, but you guys are making it harder for me to keep on saying how peaceful and tolerant Islam is. Can you cut me some slack here, please?…

“Oh, no, I’m certainly not saying you should stop the trial…Release him? Oh, no, I’m not saying that…You guys are a sovereign government…A sovereign country…But…you’re really making us come out of this building a new Afghanistan thing with egg on our face, Hamid…After all, we’ve been fighting for freedom for all Afghans, right? And that includes freedom of religion and freedom of conscience, right? I mean, Hamid, doesn’t your own Constitution say — How does it go? ‘Followers of other religions are free to exercise their faith and perform their religious rites within the limits of the provisions of law’? And what are those limits, Hamid? ‘In Afghanistan, no law can be contrary to the beliefs and provisions of the sacred religion of Islam.’…Oh, I see…I see…And Islam actually forbids conversion to another religion?…And someone who leaves Islam must be killed? Muhammad commanded it? Wow, Hamid, I had no idea….I mean, John Esposito told me — what? Esposito’s a what?

“But Hamid, can’t you release this Musa Sayed or Said Musa character just as a favor to us?…What’s that? People actually believe in laws like this? You’ll have open revolt?…Well, yes, we did sign off on your Constitution, it’s true. But we didn’t realize that anybody actually took seriously — well, of course Hamid. I see the tough position you’re in…No, I don’t think you should be made out to be an American stooge…No, of course we don’t want to see your government fall…No, of course I don’t want you to join the Taliban…No no no, of course I respect Islam…No, I’m not an Islamophobe…Look, calm down. It’s all right, Hamid…Calm down…Now I know when you say that word, you mean an interior spiritual struggle…Just calm down, please…It’s all right…We won’t cut off any aid…No, not even if Said Musa or Musa Sayed or whatever is executed…Of course we know we’ve come this far with you, we can’t abandon you now…Yes, certainly, Hamid…We’ll go to Bullfeather’s next time you’re in Washington…All right, Hamid…You have a lovely evening too…Thank you…Good night.”

The more things change, the more they — you know it’s the same old hamster wheel: this exchange is an updating and revision of this 2006 Jihad Watch post about another Afghan convert to Christianity who was facing the death penalty. Condoleezza Rice actually did call Karzai over that case; neither Hillary Clinton nor anyone else in the Obama Administration has taken any notice of this one.

More on this story. “One-legged Afghan Red Cross worker set to be hanged after converting to Christianity,” from the Daily Mail, February 7 (thanks to all who sent this in):

An Afghan physiotherapist will be executed within three days for converting to Christianity.

Said Musa, 45, has been held for eight months in a Kabul prison were he claims he has been tortured and sexually abused by inmates and guards.

Mr Musa, who lost his left leg in a landmine explosion in the 1990s, has worked for the Red Cross for 15 years and helps to treat fellow amputees….

He claims he was visited by a judge who told him he would be hanged within days unless he converted back to Islam.

But he remains defiant and said he would be willing to die for his faith….

Defence lawyers have refused to represent him, while others have dropped the case after receiving death threats.

Leave these barbarians alone!!! why are we wasting our resources and precious lives to civilize them. They would not change even if God came on earth and tried to change them. Their brainwashing by Mo/allah is so strong that there is no hope unless Islam is eradicated from earth!!!

Just leave Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and all other Islamic paradises(hell holes).

  2. says

He claims he was visited by a judge who told him he would be hanged within days unless he converted back to Islam.

But he remains defiant and said he would be willing to die for his faith….

This is what a true martyr is not somebody who wears a bomb vest to kill himself with other people to make a point.

    islam = the beast

  3. says

10 years, a trillion bucks, thousands of lives – when do we get to talk about the rood cause to the problem – ISLAM!!!

  4. says

“But he remains defiant and said he would be willing to die for his faith….”

Now THIS is a prime example of a TRUE martyr, quite unlike the mohoudians whom think killing innocent people is their ticket to paradise.

    Good luck, Mr. Musa.

    Ima

  5. says

“he would be willing to die for his faith”

I’ve always found it interesting that lefties fail to see the stark difference between Christianity and Islam. Christians, since the very beginning, have been willing to die rather than deny their faith. Muslims, on the other hand, want non-believers to die.

  6. says

“Mr Musa, who lost his left leg in a landmine explosion in the 1990s, has worked for the Red Cross for 15 years and helps to treat fellow amputees….

Abu Hamza al-Masri, A Muslim amputee who works with Islamic associations wants to create more amputees…

  7. says

God grant that Said Musa’s life be spared. But if his blood is shed as a witness for Christ, so that Said should thereby gain Everlasting Life, may he then pray for us before Almighty God as our intercessor in Christ Jesus.

  8. says

A lot of people have offered intelligent replies to this story, and I want to join the list. This man is truly a martyr, unlike the so-called “martyrs” supporting suicide vests killing innocent people.

The reason we are fighting in Afghanistan is because they attacked us on 9/11. Let’s not forget that fact. The rest is follow-up to what happened. It is unfortunate (tragic actually) that we were not able to get Osama Bin Laden. Every day he is alive is another day that islamists (purposely spelled with a small “i”) that they can falsely claim that thier god (purposely spelled with a small “g”) is protecting him.

    May God bless Said Musa.

  9. says

He claims he was visited by a judge who told him he would be hanged within days unless he converted back to Islam.

Remember the next time some toilet paper “news agency” uses the term “lawyer” in regards to an Islamic society.

Remember, these are shari’a scholars who have co-opted the Western academic credentials, like a sheep pelt over the rabid wolf, who have created “J.D.” degrees that are comprised of helpful topics such as “inheritance law (according to the prophet and the sunnah” and “marriage law (according to the prophet and the sunnah” and “criminal law for Muslims and non-Muslims (according to the prophet and the sunnah”) and “how to write legislation and enforce legislation (according to the prophet and the sunnah”.

They could never be lawyers, because they could never uphold the doctrines of justice and freedom that are required of attorneys in free societies.

They are lying pretenders, religious scholars with slave-labor-made Western shirts and pants.

An Afghan or Pakistani or Bangladeshi “judge” is just the most Islamic pretend-lawyer they can rustle up.

These people are vile, like Nazis. Trying to write down their little rules codifying how the final solution will look through the uber-lens of Islam. And the best of them, the “human rights reformers” try to couch their liberal reforms against the backdrop of the Qur’an as if that document of death could provide legitimacy for anything to do with human rights. Even with their hope for change, they cannot gainsay Islam, or they end up swinging with Karzai pulling the lever. Allahu Akbar.

The New York Times had a bit on this the other day:

    http://www.jihadwatch.org/2011/02/shocker-afghan-rights-fall-short-for-christian-converts.html

It is worth repeating — over and over, to anyone who will listen — that the Afghan constitution (post-Taliban!) stipulates that Afghanistan is an Islamic republic, and that “followers of other religions are free to exercise their faith and perform their religious rites within the limits of the provisions of law,” but “no law can be contrary to the beliefs and provisions of the sacred religion of Islam.”

Therefore, Sharia is the law of the land and has the last word in defining the limits on the practice of other religions.

In other words: our forces are fighting and dying, and we’re spending money hand over fist to prop up a Sharia regime.

Congressmen Franks (R-AZ) and Lamborn (R-CO) said it well:

“We cannot justify taxpayer dollars’ going to a government that allows the same restrictions on basic human rights that existed under the Taliban.”

  11. says

Musa in Afghanistan today you or I in the US tomorrow. The religion of the God of love, kindness and compassion, Christianity, must be extinguished so the religion of satan may flourish unfettered.

Imam Obama says nothing. He smiles his cheshire cat smile and inhales deeply with satisfaction, his people are doing their job, Christians are dying, he will rule over the whole earth!

  12. says

Democracy is a meaningless word if it is not backed by a constitution that provides for freedoms of speech, religion, and movement. Without this constitution, fasicst dictatorships can call themsleves democracies such as old East Germany and the current North Korea.

  13. says

Afghanistan: Red Cross worker to be hanged for converting to Christianity
    ………………………..

This is what Afghanistan looks like *after nine years of American and allied presence*. All we can really say is that the Taliban is no longer openly stoning women to death right in Kabul’s soccer stadium.

Apart from that, it is almost as bad as it was before we arrived.

    More:

Said Musa, 45, has been held for eight months in a Kabul prison were he claims he has been tortured and sexually abused by inmates and guards.

Mr Musa, who lost his left leg in a landmine explosion in the 1990s, has worked for the Red Cross for 15 years and helps to treat fellow amputees….
    …………………………

Amputees and other “cripples” are treated very very badly in the Muslim world”despite the fact that this sort of malady is so common throughout so much of Dar-al-Islam.

Then, he finds a group of people who not only treat him with respect, but show him how he can do good work easing the plight of his fellow disabled”moreover, they do this even though most of the people they are treating belong to another religion.

Is it any wonder that Said Musa would become attracted to the sort of faith that would allow for such decency and mercy?

His nation should consider a man like Said Musa, who has done so much to improve the lives of his fellow Afghans, to be a model citizen.

Instead, he is being raped and tortured and threatened with hanging.

    God, I hate Islam.

  14. says

Democracy? Freedom? Yeah they want the FREEDOM to destroy Israel! …and they also want the “freedom” to destroy all Jews and Christians – and anyone who speaks out against islam and their perverted-prophet moonheaded.

islam & company do not know the true meaning of democracy and freedom – just as they don’t know the true meaning of PEACE, either. Can you say, bah humbug to their “religion of peace”? So it’s also bah humbug to their desiring democracy and freedom – that is, democracy and freedom as sane and reasonable people understand it.

islam and its followers are the same backwards and forwards …a screwed-up, evil MESS!

  15. says

Don’t we have a lot of soldiers in Afganistan?

And don’t they have a lot of bullets?

And aren’t all those government officials still permitted the use of their heads ONLY because we are there?

Threaten to pull out unless changes to the constitution are made. Those guys know if we leave it is only a matter of weeks before they and their families are dead.

The American public are caring less and less about them every day and they know that and if America leaves the rest will follow.

    It really is that simple.

  16. says

I cannot believe the foolish rhetoric that passes for public discourse on this matter.

Hey, idiot media: democracy is quantitative…it is not qualitative. It is a tactic, not a philosophy of public governance, nor a statement about the position on rights or freedom by its citizenry.

It is how one elects his or her favorite shari’a adherant politicians…not whether shari’a should be banished or embraced.

You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. People who believe in Islam cannot believe ultimately in the tactic of democracy, because it is only a tool used to obtain a totally Islamic society, in which case, democracy, which was created by those evil heathen Greeks, shall go the way of the dodo and thank Allah.

It’s like teaching that gorilla to read. Cute. Clever. But it’s still a gorilla.

  17. says

Let me try to understand: How can this belief system (I won’t call Islam a religion because true religion involves God and God is good and is not of the persuasion that running around madly executing people because they don’t share your opinion is somehow accomplishing something good) lead to a conclusion for the obedient, of freedom, enlightenment and consummate love shared in God’s presence, purity and the riches of eternity? This action could be considered good if life is somehow bad and therefore to execute somebody not of your faith is somehow relieving them of the suffering you presume they are needlessly enduring. But God is Good and He is a God of Life and this He has given freely to many. Any religion that condemns to death anyone who uses their agency to chose a different way of seeing things while not destructive, just different, is a most insecure religion indeed. For to destroy and to kill and to break down society, these are downhill actions and are easy for someone who acutely feels that his life is meaningless without this sort of activity. This is therefore weakness because instead of contributing of his own talents and strength to build something greater than himself he has instead lowered himself, because of infantile tendencies, into the soot and ashes and innocent blood of that which he has chosen to destroy. But to build up families who know how to live in peace and harmony among one another, to create law-abiding families, to educate in constructive topics (not how to build bombs and shoot guns, but to learn science for peaceful purposes, to understand the industrial society which exists to help man meet his needs), to treat women with courtesy and respect as equals, to be together often as families with one educating another about things of truth, clean laughter and deference and gratitude to our Creator. It is these things that require strength and effort to build up and make a country strong. I just fail to understand how taking the life of another who is innocent but sees the world differently can be seen as accomplishing a good, manly, righteous and constructive thing. In our society, having a physical fight because of a difference of opinion was usually resolved around the age of 4 or 5 in the sandbox. It was there we learned to curb our tempers and to try to see things the other person’s way. It seems there was no one to teach today’s “radical Islamic children” who feel so threatened by a difference of opinion who are adults pertaining to the body but are mere infants when it comes to right and wrong and their ability to know the difference. Let me make my opinion clear: Military might, especially when it is disorganized and random, many of whose targets are innocent is not the same thing as manliness, masculinity, spiritual strength and spiritual cleanliness. Destruction is not godliness. Difference of seeing things is not cause for combat but an opportunity to learn. This is how useful science progresses. This is how society evolves from something at one point to something better later on. A sovereign nation has the obligation to defend itself against its enemies if those enemies should cross its borders in the wrong spirit. But to violate a soul’s mortal tabernacle to cause death because his thoughts differ from yours, this is the most infantile, destructive, and arrogant thing a man can do. The human family contains a great brotherhood and sisterhood, both endowed with great creative power, but these blessings cannot be manifested, nor brought to fruition in a climate of senseless violence and fear. Any thought system that seeks to forbid man from exercising his God-given talents to think and do that which benefits his fellow man and seeks to make life better for everybody without regard to ethnicity and world-view (save the ceaseless path of world destruction), this “religion” that would prevent a man the right to his agency to do good is an edifice which is fighting against a God who is Good, Perfect, and a Creator of that which is good. This one true God is omnipotent in that neither He nor His works can be defeated and the fruits of those who attempt to act contrary to the Will of Him who is infinite in strength, power and might will find their end bitter indeed.

  18. says

We hear frequently the word “martyr” or the phrase “die for your faith.” Faith is a growing, living entity when it is alive. Faith enables us to see the value of our lives, mainly through the service we can render our fellow man. Faith does not meditate upon the fruits of death, what reward one might receive if he dies this way or that. Faith cherishes life and sees it as a marvelous opportunity to make a contribution to make the world a better place for all. A coward might want to die for his faith as an excuse to avoid the suffering that is joined with mortality. But oh, how much more courageous and heroic it is to willingly undertake to bear the suffering of mortality, however long or short it may be, God willing, and at the same time to create something good, something of enduring value. This takes real courage and manliness and is the thing that will make shine the eyes of that man’s Creator when he meets Him again after the suffering is over and he hears His words, “Well done thou good and faithful servant…. enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” (Matt 25:21)

I have been trying to convince my son – who spent over 2 years in Afghanistan working for a non-profit – that the problems will not be solved by more aid, more soldiers, or more effort. As many commenters here have said, the problem is Islam itself.

Islam is a gutter religion founded by a cross-dressing, psychopathic, bloodthirsty pedophile. The violence and bloodshed it promotes does not spring from poverty, or ignorance, or hopelessness. It is the predominant nature of Islam itself and of its prophet whom Muslims revere and seek to imitate. Islam is increasingly being seen for what it is, but it is probably too late for much of the planet -Islam is the single greatest danger to the world.

My son claims that the Afghans he worked with over there are moderates who just want peace and freedom. But just wanting freedom has never been enough; and being willing to stand by while others do the bleeding and dying for you has never made a people free. Said Musa understands this, but those he helped do not. They are not worthy of him.

Besides, arguing that some Muslims are moderate and peaceful and that not all Islamic theology is evil is like saying that some Germans were moderate and peaceful and the Nazis built the Autobahn. It may be accurate but it is not relevant, and it does not change a thing.

Of course, the problem isn’t limited to Afghanistan. It is also found everywhere Muslim ascendency or expansion has occurred. It will also happen in North America if we allow it. The west’s blind support of Muslim activism and preferential treatment has us on that path.

The additional bad news for believers like Said Musa (whom my son met) is that the historical record does not offer much support for the belief that love is the only way to overcome hate. All that does is create more sheep for the slaughter. Absent the direct intervention of God – which has always been arbitrary and unreliable – evil must be actively crushed by human hands. People who expect God to defeat evil through their love are as naive as people who expect God to feed others through their prayers.

Islamists are out to loot and sack the planet and the civilized world cannot take another step forward until we destroy them. We have let this cancer grow and spread, and so cutting it out will cost us dearly now. But there is no other choice for us.

  21. says

Thanks for sharing this story, and especially the link back to the previous similar case.

After Bush and Rice speaking out against this kind of thing, you’d think it wouldn’t be coming up again.

I’m glad we have two in Congress speaking out against it.

Great dialogue; inspired no doubt by the telephone conversation between the American president and Soviet premier in Dr. Strangelove. Could be part of a script for the movie (that unfortunately most westerners seem to be living) “How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Islam”.

hey, what about we have a death penalty for anyone converting to Islam–wonder what would be the outcome.

Fun Fact: the koran in sura 91:4 tells us that the night hides the sun. In sura 76:13 it says the moon gives a strong cold.
Looks like ole allah got it wrong–unless science got it wrong. You make the call

  24. says

I just wish that we could just leave them alone. If they just left us alone, I would be OK with it. One problem is that they are comming after us. This ‘legal’ system is being exported to us. We have two actions to take:

    1) Not allow the ‘legal’ system here. We are attempting to do this, but to stop the pressure completely we need to take additional action.
    2) Alter the ‘legal’ system where it is comming from. Wars are started this way, as if our reaction to action #1 should not result in a war in the first place.

The war has not really begun yet.

  25. says

What about those who aren’t Muslims and want to live in peace? … I know it is impossible to create a country with full rights for everybody in the Islamic world…but…

  26. says

I don’t know what do you mean by “What about those who aren’t Muslims and want to live in peace? … I know it is impossible to create a country with full rights for everybody in the Islamic world…but…”?

As a I said in my post, our efforts to civilize Muslim world is not panning out as we we desire. We will never be able to change Muslims and they will not follow what we want them to learn from us, viz., democracy – equal rights for all, freedom of religion and expression, women’s rights as equal to those of men etc. These aims are in direct conflict with Islam and therefore Muslims will never ever change and adopt our ways while following Islam!! Therefore we should just quit and leave them alone and cut our losses.

But of course we will have to defend ourselves if they bring their fight here!!

  27. says

True, they won’t us alone – but we should not aim to civilize them while fighting a war with them. We know it ain’t gonna happen. We should take steps to defend ourselves by all means – stopping Muslim immigration will be first step and then we go on from there.

  28. says

Here’s a third action to take:

    BAR THE DOOR.

It’s not enough to keep their legal system out. We need to keep THEM out.
Don’t allow another Muslim, whatever his or her nationality, into the country – with the lone exception being those on diplomatic passports. If anyone who comes in as an official representative of his government does anything to harm the US then it is an act of war.

Those that are already here will have to adapt to OUR legal system. If they can’t then they are free to emigrate to a Muslim country. The choice is theirs.

The fourth action is to set an official US policy of MAD – Mecca’s Assured Destruction. We love deterrence. This is the only one I can find that MIGHT make Muslims (both here and abroad) take notice and think twice before setting out to become famous in death.

My son who is a Marine just called me on Sunday morning from Marja which is one the most f…up places in Afghanistan. it was a sobering conversation. this is his first trip there and he told me “dad these poeple are living in stone ages”. he ahd asked me to send him hard cand and loli pops so he can handed to the kids. we should not be there. instead we should just suround them and to make sure no one gets in and out of the country.

No . democracy doesn’t mean freedom, as defined by wikipedia. “The “majority rule” is often described as a characteristic feature of democracy, but without governmental or constitutional protections of individual liberties, it is possible for a minority of individuals to be oppressed by the “tyranny of the majority”.
so when muslims say they are for democracy, they mean that a majority of the muslims in a country will vote for their leaders to rule over the whole country accroding to what they want. Without a strong freedom loving constitution like ours, this word is useless.

  31. says

you are 100% correct. it is exactly the same way in Iran. all minorites including Jews, christians, sunnis, zorastrians etc… are forbidden to serve in military or hold office.

Miriam, tell your son that under no circumstances should he be handing out candies to little kids in Afghanistan. especially not in areas outside of Kabul. These muslim people are savages and little kids being kids will take the handouts. But the adults consider this accepting favors and food from Najis (dirty, filthy, untouchable, kaffur), these kids could be threatned and beaten for taking the candies. There was a case in which a British soldier gave a candy to a little girl, when he returned later he found the little girl in a ditch with her throat slit. This traumatized him badly.

    ………………………..

I imagine this was somewhat tongue-in-cheek on your part, Yomayngsup.

To take the proposal seriously, though, the outcome would be that decent Westerners”*even those who understood the baleful tenets of Islam*-would protest such a move in the name of human rights.

We are not like our enemies.
