Arkansas court rejects attempt to order search engines to block access to some nude images unless user is known to be non-Muslim

Sharia in cyberspace. This attempt failed; more will be coming. "Court Rejects Attempt to Order Search Engines to Block Access to Certain Nude Images to Children and Muslims," by Eugene Volokh at The Volokh Conspiracy, February 7 (thanks to Ron):

Neeley moved for injunctive relief against Google, Inc.; Yahoo, Inc.; Microsoft Corporation; and IAC/InterActiveCorp, towit, that they:
be ordered not to allow nude photos to be returned when image searches include the terms "Curtis" or "Neeley" regardless of other terms entered unless entering user is known to be an adult and not a Muslim.

The judge didn't go for this. But there will be other such attempts.

Not as bad as Surrender Britain where everyone has to eat Halal meat whether they are Muslim or not, so such choice there.

One of the responses to the item said the following:

'Has he ever heard of robots.txt, which can block the Google spider from indexing content?'

So, his problem, if there was ever really a problem, could've been solved quite easily without all this court action.

This reminds me of that old joke where an old lady calls the cops about looking out her window and seeing a naked man in the house next door. The cops arrive at her house and go to the window but do not see the naked man. When they tell her that they can't see any naked man next door, she says well if you stand on that ladder in the corner you can see him.
If a Muslim doesn't want to see nude pictures then he should go there, duh! There is always a warning before going to a site with nude pics.

"Sharia in cyberspace. This attempt failed; more will be coming. "Court Rejects Attempt to Order Search Engines to Block Access to Certain Nude Images to Children and Muslims,""

apparently the Muslim mosques and Islamic clerics are doing a poor job of instilling virtue and individual self control of their co-religionists...

The fact that such a claim would be brought is indicative of how far we've sunk.

*** 33:21 ***

Spencer's right: there will be other such cases and gradually the Moslems will start to win.

America is not a nation of laws anymore. 20 million illegal immigrants, unconstitutional anchor babies, ,McCain-Feingold, Roe v Wade, the New Londong case, hate crime "laws"... there are dozens of examples of this.

So, striking down the Constitution on behalf of Moslems seems natural, especially with Barack Hussein Obama at the helm.

Just so long as they are not searching for 54 year old men who have sex with a 9 year old girl.

Now that would really be sick.

I'm pretty sure you can find that sort of thing going on at your local mosque, as Mohammed was the "perfect man".

Google already offers search filters. This is certainly an attempt to impose Islamic standards of morality (don't laugh!) on all.

Meanwhile, beheading videos are now available at your local Mosque.

Naked women = haram
beheading infidels = halal

But Muhammad, the model of every Muslim, used to meet and hug people...NAKED !!! (Slide #86-102)
http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2010/12/perfect-man-of-islam.html

This is a weird case, but not really an attempt to impose Shari'a law. The guy requesting the restrictions is not a Muslim and is the creator of the site to which he is trying to restrict access.

OT, Texas about to require mandatory Arabic-language classes for public schools..."language of the future."

sounds like soon on x-tube we will have to click "I agree that i am 18+ and not a muslim", instead of "I agree i am 18+".

Arkansas court rejects attempt to order search engines to block access to some nude images unless user is known to be non-Muslim
..................................

You have to prove you *are not Muslim* to view something? That makes being Muslim normative, and I can't think of anything more indicative of Shari'ah than that.

More:

Sharia in cyberspace...
..................................

Not just cyberspace. This is also "lawfare".

Although, it is important to note that this is lawfare of an altogether unintended kind.

It seems that Neeley was trying to shield himself from charges that he allowed children to view his adult site, and clearly decided to throw in the "Muslim" reference either to dilute the charge, or as preventative dhimmitude—lest any Muslims complain, perhaps lethally.

I don't know if Neeley is a resident of Arkansas, or if was just deemed by the bringers of the suit that a somewhat socially conservative state like Arkansas might be a good place to try such a case.

In any event, this case has a number of noteworthy aspects—the use of a conservative state to unwittingly enforce Shari'ah norms, preemptive dhimmitude as a safeguard, and piggybacking Shari'ah norms onto a legitimate concern (i.e., children being protected from viewing inappropriate images).

That all of this was likely unintended makes it no less dangerous. I think we will be seeing more cases like this.

One of the many ironies of this case, of course, is that pious Muslims are some of the biggest pornhounds around—Google and other search engines confirm this on a regular basis. Just more Islamic hypocrisy.

Are barkeepers required to ask customers if they are a muslim? Can you put up a sign "Muslims will not be served alcohol" - or is that religious discrimination? If a barkeeper only asks people that look "asian" will they be accused of profiling. How about "No muslims" signs over hot dog stands. "No muslims" signs over betting windows at race tracks? "No muslims" signs at Las Vegas city limits?

Utter inanity. Why should anyone be responsible for another person's religious observances. It is after all infringing that person's freedom of/from religion. As part of creeping Shariah will police departments be required to recruit a "Mutaween" squad?

And the sexual repression just keeps on coming.

It's one thing to TELL people WHAT to think... Another entirely to LEGISLATE HOW to think.

What's "Curtis" and "Neely" and what do they have to do with porn exactly?

Really, it might be a good idea to restrict Moslems from access to various sites, although not necessarily the porno ones. More like any sites concerning security.
Then, following up on Tom Billesley's comment; Moslems could be restricted from access to all sorts of physical sites, not just cyber ones: any place serving alcohol, any place serving non-halal food, any place where there is gambling, any medical facility that uses alcohol-based disinfectanta, any place where women's bare arms, legs, or faces might be seen, etc, etc.
In the end, Moslems could be denied access to virtually the whole non-Moslem world. Purely for their own good, of course, to protect their fine sensibilities. Anyone from a Moslem country wanting to visit anywhere else in the world would have to sign a statement that he/she was not a Moslem and would not take offense at the everyday activities of people in the destination country.
The rule should be: no Moslems in, on, or at any sites where the sights might incite them.

What's "Curtis" and "Neely" and what do they have to do with porn exactly?
Curtis Neeley was a commercial photographer until seriously injured in a car accident.

Curtis Neeley sued Google, and other providers of search engines, because indexing made his uploaded photographs discoverable to, inter alia, muslims and children. In other words he didn't want muslims or children who are looking for images of naked people to be directed to his site where he'd placed images of naked people.

Tom Billesley's "... police departments be required to recruit a "Mutaween" squad?"
The members of this squad should be called mutts.

Yes, but once the Muslims learn that bringing children into the picture ("It's for the good of the children, someone think of the children", etc) always works, good lord.

After all, that's how smoking bans started here - to "protect children" ... then they went and banned it in bars, where children aren't even allowed in the first place. Some places have started to ban it in private cars where minors are present. It's probably also the reason pot stays illegal ("Think of the CHILDREN who might get a hold of it!" - even though it's much easier for a kid to get it from an underground dealer than a licensed establishment).

Yeah, if they start using that tactic, we're all sunk for good.

I'd love to see signs up in bars saying 'Muslims will not be served alcohol', not because I think it's a good thing to be belligerent but because Muslims wouldn't know how to react - should we complain about the implied insult? Or would that be wrong, since the bar is acting in accordance with sharia? Their hypocrisy in demanding special treatment yet complaining about discrimination would become very obvious.

What a hoot! In places like Thailand one sees Muslim men by the scores with Thai Bar Girls, drinking, dancing and heading for their hotels with plenty of these girls in tow. If one doesn't believe this go see for yourself. It's pretty easy to spot the Muslim guys...what Hypocrites! Maybe Osama is hiding out there??

And lets not forget all the Western women they attack and rape being the "loose" un-pure Muslim maids they are - infidel whores they think of them. Who says Islam is not a religion of peace and love (peace of white meat and love the one you're with - that's the real Paradise for them)?!

This is just silly. There is every reason to think that Muslims love their porn.

Witness 1 -- Alexa. Porn, even with blocking.

Witness 2 -- Every frackin' al-Qaeda computer that's ever been captured is full of porn. (Refs on request)

Muslim men and boys are like men and boys everywhere. That is to say, they too are gettin' nowhere near my well-armed daughters.

The Depraved World of Jihadi Child Porn
By Stephen Brown
FrontPageMagazine.com | Friday, October 24, 2008

"Besides their well-known penchant for anti-Semitism, misogyny and nihilistic violence, Muslim extremists are also gaining a disturbing reputation among British security agencies as collectors of child pornography.

"According to a report on The Times website last week,

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article4959002.ece

[note: I just opened this link today - Thursday February 10 2011 - and it still works fine]

police in Great Britain are discovering that their investigations into Muslim terrorism are leading them into the depraved world of child sexual exploitation.

"The reverse is also occurring with child protection officers encountering people who are “preparing to carry out terrorist acts.”

"At one time, the link between the two deviant behaviours was considered so strong that security officials considered establishing an anti-terrorism project involving child welfare experts, but never followed through because Scotland Yard’s hands were too full with other terrorist investigations."

.................................

Cornelius, this was heavily bandied about in the 1980s with touting Japanese as the "language of the future", since the US economy was—supposedly—going down in flames to superior Japanese business acumen.

It was worse, during the 1970s and 1980s, when it was declared that everyone must learn Russian, since the West was about to become the "third world", with the USSR in ascendancy.

You hear the same thing these days when it comes to Chinese, since Communist China is supposedly the "model of the future".

And God only knows what sort of dhimmitude goes into considering *Arabic* the "language of the future".

Now, mind you, I am certainly not against learning foreign languages—far from it. I speak some German myself, and greatly admire people who are multilingual.

But that is not really what this is about. This is about considering the West in decline, and declaring that unless we can somehow make ourselves useful to our future overlords, that we'll be totally screwed.

Now, this is a repulsive idea in general—but in relation to, say, generally democratic and capitalist Japan, it is at least marginally palatable. In relation to Communist tyrannies, this is less innocent—and in relation to Muslim supremacy, even less so.

I have some small personal experience with Muslims being great consumers of porn.

I hope no one minds my reposting a comment I made on the subject here at JW way back in 2006:

Yojimbo wrote:

I can believe this. When I was a student at Berkeley in the late Seventies I worked one summer at the International House cleaning rooms. We had visiting scholars from all over the world. It was always interesting to see what they left in the rooms for me to clean up when they went home.

A number of the guys left girlie magazines. This wasn't unusual. Usually they were very soft-core. I noticed that Japanese visitors, for instance, tended to leave a *lot* of mags, mostly with pictures of blonde girls in bikinis, that sort of thing.

But visiting scholars from the Middle East often left *huge* caches of stuff, alot of it *very* hard core, some it rather disturbing. I didn't want to stereotype, but it was an obvious pattern, and I'm sure most of them couldn't even think about taking any of this stuff home with them.

This United States Court Action is NOT over. I once did figurenude art that should not be viewed by a child or a devout Muslim. I am not a Muslim but have read the Holy Qur'an Surat An-Nisan 24:31 that only a homosexual slave should view nudity.

I have read the Holy Qur'an and I have read the Holy Bible. I use the robots.txt protocol when possible but regulation of the wire communications venue called the Internet will be the result of my suit.
