Australia: Former immigration minister warns country risks becoming "nation of enclaves"

No, it's not 'goodbye Australia'.

Don't forget: the current government holds power by a whisker. Indeed, we very nearly had a hung parliament after the last election.

That means, the electorate were not particularly taken with any of the possibilities on offer (we have compulsory voting, so pretty nearly everybody voted, who could). And there are lots of politicians whose seats are held by very thin margins; and lots of hopeful candidates from the opposition party, eyeing off those seats and hoping to tip them.

So the current situation is very far from being set in stone.

And remember: three years ago, four years ago, you wouldn't have heard anyone in the Australian political scene speaking up to the extent and in the way that people like Senator Cory Bernardi are starting to do. I know, because from 2007 onward I have been keeping tabs.

Every time someone like Bernardi - or anyone else - pops their head above the parapet and says something halfway intelligent about Islam, I make a note of their name. And I write to the person and thank them and encourage them and point them to handy sources of information: such as Rev Dr Mark Durie's "The Third Choice", and Canon Dr Patrick Sookhdeo's little book on Sharia finance. Both those books are perfect for busy politicians, since they aren't too long and complicated, but are rock-solid in terms of the information they present. The authors also have that all -important 'Dr' prefixed to their names, which does lend a ring of authority. The other thing I tell politicians about, is Raymond Ibrahim's Middle Eastern Quarterly article about Taqiyya in Islam. I want them to know that Muslims lie, lie, and lie again; to try to put them (the politicians) on their guard a bit. Aussies *do not like* shysters and con-men.

A couple of remarks on the persons mentioned in the report.

Mr Kevin Andrews, MP, has Assyrian Christian emigres living in his electorate. I think they have been bending his ear. I've written to him, in the past.

There is at least one other Senator in Federal Parliament who is well aware of Sharia Creep; I know, because he wrote a newspaper article about it, and I corresponded with him after reading the article. I cast my senate vote so as to ensure that he would get another term.

And Senator Mitch Fifield is a Friend of Zion. Back in January 2009, he attended one of the pro-Israel rallies that were held in Australia at the time of the Gaza battle, when Israel was handing the Hamasnik Jew-haters a well-deserved drubbing. Senator Fifield was one of those who called for Australia to boycott Durban II in Geneva. And I wrote to him on that occasion, and gave him some information on canonical Islamic antisemitism.

I also know that there is a sitting MP in Federal Parliament who fully understands about the Islamic apostasy law and how it affects people today: he gave a speech about it, in Parliament.

I know, from something he wrote at the end of last month, that one of our Jewish MPs got a bit of a jolt when Coptic churches in Australia had to be guarded by police because of threats on a Muslim jihadist website; this same MP has begun to understand the depth and malevolence of Muslim Jew-hating nonsense (in the same piece, he mentioned the ridiculous business of 'Zionist sharks' and 'Zionist vulture spies'). I've written to *him* more than once, in the past; I've written to him again, to tell him where to find out more about Muslim abuse of the Copts in Egypt.

I think it quite likely that, in the corridors of the Wombat Hole in Canberra, those Aussie politicians who are starting to get the wind up about Islam, are bumping into each other, and networking; and slowly, slowly, educating some of their peers, even as their constituents desperately attempt to educate and encourage.

I was interested to see that the issue of halal meat has come up.

The stealth imposition of halal meat as the norm, is the subject of the latest lobbying-and-education campaign by "The Barnabas Fund" - which has plenty of active members in Australia.

If halal meat/ halal food become the norm or the 'default', then what happens is that *Muslims* end up with a virtual monopoly over butchering and the meat industry (except for pork). Which is very bad for the *non-Muslim* butchers and abattoirs.

And in Australia this matters, because even today a big chunk of our economy has to do with livestock.

The 'Barnabas Fund', of course, **oppose** the stealth imposition of halal as the norm.

They have a petition you can sign, to call for the labelling of all halal meat, so that customers have a choice.

I am sure that this petition is circulating in Australia, and that people will be writing letters to all the relevant politicians, on the same topic.

Also remember that our enemy has had 30 - 40 years of planning and action to get where they are today. They have had to do it on the stealth because as we see now when enough people catch wind of it, there is push back against Creeping Sharia.

What to do? As Dumbledoresarmy has shown us, get involved with your local constituency and educate them about Sharia law. The suggest reading list that is short and sweet for a busy politician is helpful. If the books are fairly inexpensive maybe we can push a fund drive to send a copy to each politician or something of that nature.

The other thing we need to do is focus on our own plan to counter this jihad. Action steps we need to take to ensure that our way of life is not lost to Islam. In Oklahoma, they put a referendum up to the people stating that the Constitution is the law of the land not Sharia. More of this kind of thing is needed along with forcing industry to label Halal compliant food so people do have a choice. There are many ideas out there but we need to get some of this down into actionable goals. Some of the ideas can be public so even Muslims will know, but other ideas will be kept close to the vest until its time to take action. This is so as to not tip off Islamists to things we are doing.

Oh, re. the "Liberals'.

It's one of those language/ terminology things.

A quick lesson in Australian political terminology.

In Australia, the 'left-ish' party is called the 'Labor' party (since it originally had an association with urban and rural bluecollar workers and the trade unions) and the 'conservatives' are the 'Liberals' (having a historic association with big and small business) who normally form a coalition with the 'Nationals' who used to be the 'Country' party representing farmers/ landowners. If you see 'LNP' in current reports on Australian political doings, it stands for 'Liberal-National Party'; also sometimes referred to as 'the Coalition'.

Just to make things even more confusing, it was 'Labor', because it was 'the working man's party', that was originally - end-19th century, early 20th century - quite strongly xenophobic and anti-[non-white] immigration...so they have essentially adopted the opposite of their historic position.

Your moral equivalency thinking is showing. There's nothing in Judaism or Jewish culture that is a threat to liberty. There is so much in Islam and Islamic culture which is. One knows this or should know it.

Sorry, respectfully disagree. Since Islam is a totalitarian ideology (and Judaism is not), it should be opposed pretty much across the board, because giving in to ungracious totalitarian ideologues, even on some minor issues, just feeds their appetite for more. And their appetite is never satiated.

We need to oppose Islamic dietary laws here in Australia. The last time I'd seen a statistic on the subject, Moslems only account for 1.7 percent of Australia's population. Why on earth should 1.7 percent dictate to the rest of us what we will eat? Moreover every purchase of Halal products regardless whether done knowingly or unwittingly furthers the cause of Islam. It also fosters their born to rule attitude and supremacist tendencies.

By way of protest I'd urge all consumers to fill their shopping trolleys with all the Halal products you can find and present them at the checkouts. Once they have rung up the bill ask the assistant whether they are Halal or not. Then politely tell them you would have bought them but since they are Halal you are no longer interested and walk away. Hopefully in time they will get the message.

We have had posters at various times write off The Netherlands, and Spain, and France, and Germany, and Sweden, and all of Scandinavia, and England, and Scotland, and all of Great Britain, and all of Europe, and Australia, and Canada, and the United States under Obama.

The fact is, the entire West is in trouble of varying degrees, due to Muslim immigration, and wide-spread indiscriminate multiculturalism, and the fecklessness of our elites.

It is also true that most of the countries of the West have also shown some encouraging signs of speaking out and fighting back—like the former minister and his colleagues, above.

The fact is, all the countries of the West could, at this point, go either way. It is important that we stay strong here. Writing off any part of the West is unhelpful and premature.

But no, Gerard, I am hardly singling you out. I sometimes read some sort of jaw-dropping example of cringing dhimmitude somewhere in the West, and can't help but think that any nation that would would commit such foolishness is lost.

But if you study the lead up to WWII, with idiots in the free-world fawning over Mussolini's "efficiency" or running puff pieces on the "inspiring" Hitler Youth or declaring "Peace in Our Time" while selling out Czechoslovakia to Nazi aggression, you see both how disturbingly foolish we can be, and how wise and brave when we finally face up to evil and staunchly oppose it.
