California mosque distributes literature accusing Zionists of complicity with Nazis in Holocaust

Blaming the victim, and joined by one of the victims to do it. Islamic Antisemitism Update: "Steinberg criticizes flier at Muslim center," by Stephen Magagnini for the Sacramento Bee, February 21 (thanks to Weasel Zippers):

Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg has condemned literature distributed at an event at a local Muslim group's center last week that suggests Jewish leaders in World War II Germany worked with Nazis to get permission to settle in Palestine.

A flier distributed by the International Jewish Anti- Zionist Network – an event co-sponsor – said: "As part of this collaboration, Zionists … even kept silent about impending plans to deport Jews into Nazi death camps.

"Zionism both exploited and hinged upon the rise of Nazism, and later, the Holocaust, to transform what had been a small nationalist movement with little support … into one capable of achieving statehood, based on support from the U.S. and other imperial powers."

Steinberg said that "in essence, they are saying the Jews orchestrated the Holocaust. Talk about blaming the victims."

About 500 people attended Wednesday's address at the SALAM Islamic Center by Auschwitz survivor Hajo Meyer, 86, who compared what happened to him and other Jews in Nazi Germany in the 1930s to Israel's treatment of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Mona Alfi of Congregation B'nai Israel – one of 13 rabbis who had asked SALAM to cancel or boycott the event – said Sunday that "there is no comparison" between the ways Jews in pre-war Germany and Palestinians have been treated.

"There are Palestinians in the Israeli government, there are universities with full participation," Alfi said. "There are real political problems between Palestinians and Israelis, but it's not what happened in Germany in the 1930s."

She called the flier alleging some Zionists were Nazi collaborators "a disgusting lie."...

Imam Mohamed Abdul Azeez, whose mosque rented its hall for the event, said the Sacramento Area League of Associated Muslims, SALAM, didn't see or approve of the flier before it was distributed.

"We reject any remote suggestion that Jews have colluded with the Nazis," Azeez said.

But the event – drawing the largest crowd in five years to the mosque – "changed a lot of things," Azeez said. "Instead of demonizing Jews, it contributed to a positive perception of the Jewish community that some Jews, while upholding their Jewish faith will speak out against aggression and injustice against Palestine."

Get it? Jews who meekly accept the jihad against them in Israel will not be "demonized," but will instead contribute to a "positive perception of the Jewish community." How wonderful!

Steinberg – founder of the Capital Unity Council creating a center for tolerance here – has championed Sacramento's diversity and built bridges between Jewish and Muslim leaders to fight bigotry.

Well, that makes him a lot like Imam Rauf, another bridge builder...Steinberg does not want to build a mosque, he want's to build bridge...to nowhere, just like Rauf...I wonder what Darrell thinks about Shari law? If you reject that are you a bigot? Muslim leaders fighting bigotry is the fox guarding the hen house...

Since their hero Amin al-Husseini was an actual nazi, they sure have some nerve to hand out texts accusing Jews of being like mahoundians.

"a disgusting lie."...from the disgusting followers of a disgusting liar: The Inventor of Islam...the Big Lie. Lies, fear, ignorance and perversions are the pillars of Islam.

Could anyone link the recent Shirk article on why democracy will not work in any Islamic country? I would like to archive it. TIA.

While I agree that a bunch of disgusting lies have been published, I hope that nobody uses this as an excuse to take away First Amendment rights.

Arafat asks: " Could anyone link the recent Shirk article on why democracy will not work in any Islamic country? I would like to archive it. TIA."

Fjordman posted an excellent essay...you would have to follow the links in the article to get the entire report...also A.Hirshi has an excellent article on the same subject...

Pulsar182,

Thanks for your help.

I did find the article I was looking for, but the ones you mention will also be helpful!

Somebody needs to weaponize Alzheimer's to neutralize geezers like Meyer.

Collaborating.

Well, actually war makes strange bedfellows.

If you look in Leon Uris "Exodus", a fictionalized and highly readable account of the creation of Israel, there is an account of the collaboration of the Haganah representative with the Nazis to bring Jewish settlers to Palestine. The payoff for the Nazis was to embarrass the British in the eyes of the Arabs, who were violently against any Jewish settlement. The payoff for the Haganah was to save Jewish lives by bringing them out of Germany.

Incidentally, there was no conspiracy of silence. Elie Wiesel, among others, has documented that information concerning the Nazi treatment of its Jewish citizens was printed in the New York Times and other US news media at the time. The US and other allies simply didn't respond very strongly. The US, for example, did not raise it's immigration quotas to allow otherwise doomed Jewish refugees into the country.

If you look in Leon Uris "Exodus", a fictionalized and highly readable account of the creation of Israel,......

Fictionalized. Enough said. You're a clown!

But the event – drawing the largest crowd in five years to the mosque – "changed a lot of things," Azeez said. In recent years Meyer has been "politically active", including as director of A Different Jewish Voice. He also wrote the book Het einde van het Jodendom (The End of Judaism) in 2003, which accuses Israel of abusing the Holocaust to justify crimes against the Palestinians. He is a member of the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network. He participated in the 2011 "Never Again - For Anyone" tour. Meyer also claimed that Zionism predates Fascism, that Zionists and Fascists had a history of cooperation, and that Israel wants to create anti-Semitism in the world to encourage more Jews to migrate to Israel—this last is especially insane. He has spoken in favor of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel.

He is also is a member of the Dutch GreenLeft.

Meyer is the ultimate "self-hating Jew". The subtitle of his book is "An Ethical Tradition Betrayed". He is apparently so terrified of becoming "like his oppressors" that he sees *any* instance of Jews standing up for themselves and their own survival as representing a "slippery slope" that might well end up in their committing crimes like the Holocaust themselves.

I deeply feel for what Meyer suffered through during the Holocaust, but here he is just another useful idiot.

Unbelievable. Shame on him.

Buraq,

Good post. You sorely temp my resolution to not get personal.

You're the first person I've every heard who accused Leon Uris, a well-known Jewish author and strong supporter of Israel, to have fabricated damaging, untrue information concerning Israel.

Tut, tut, tut, my dear Ronald. I never said that Leon Uris 'fabricated damaging, untrue information concerning Israel.'

I said that you said it was 'fictionalized'. Fiction is not fact. So, if you're going to slander an entire people living legally in the country where they have been for at least 3,000 years or more, come up with something more solid than fiction.

Tut, tut, get personal, indeed. (Buraq chortles while sashaying off into the distance.)

Buraq,

I take it you're adopting the British system, where you can slander someone by publicizing a fact which is true, but embarrassing. Under the American system, truth is an absolute defense against libel.

Besides, why assume I'm slandering an entire people? Or, even slandering the Haganah? They adopted survival tactics under desperate circumstances. I don't criticize their tactics. I find them interesting, and wanted to share them.

Y'know, I find the fact utterly distasteful that there are still people who won't leave the Jews in peace. Despite thousands of years in which they have been pushed from pillar to post, raped, robbed, gassed and massacred, they can still find no rest.
And although they now live in the country where they are surrounded by artifacts that attest to their presence for over 3,000 years, there stands Islam, a ghoulish creature from the very depths of Hell, screaming to have every last man, woman and child murdered.
What kind of a f****** world is this?

Take your smug shit about fictional intrigues by Zionists and stick it up your a**.

What possibly could have happened had the WWII Jews had good weapons and had decided to resist at all costs...If you know you are going to die..why not take a few of the attackers with you...

Read about the 13th Waffen SS division.

The facts are what the Islamists don't want you to know, the facts are their enemy, Taqiyya is their only defence.

pulsar182,

Google "Warsaw Ghetto" and read about just what you imagined. Only, they didn't have good weapons, but made do with what they had.

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with what Ronald stated. It is just a fact.

In Germany, the Jewish community councils, which included Zionists, worked with the regime to facilitate Jewish emmigration, and the vocational training that would be necessary in the emigres' new homelands, to get as many Jews out of Germany as was possible before the gates were locked.

Rabbi Leo Baeck, addressing his congregation from the pulpit in 1933, stated "The thousand-year-old history of German Jewry is drawing to a close..." Baeck, one of the few rabbis to stay in Germany until the very end, was arrested in 1943 and survived the Theresienstadt Ghetto in Czechoslovakia.

These people worked hard to save as many of their brethren as possible, and did so under extremely trying and difficult circumstances for as long as they could hold out.

No one has any business judging them negatively.

"No one has any business judging them negatively."

Mike,

I agree completely. These people were true heroes. The more their story is told, the better. Why should we forget the desperate actions of Jewish leaders to save as many Jews as they could?

The lie, of course, is that these people collaborated in any way by conspiring to hide the crimes of the Nazis. As I pointed out, information about the crimes and intentions of the Nazis was freely available.

To Buraq: Do yourself a big favor, go to Amazon, get a secondhand copy of Exodus, and read it. You'll find it informative and uplifting.

He built the mosque down the street from my house across the street from ARC. He was named the best person in sacramento by the local Sacramento News and Review. I'm hoping they don't put the loud speakers for the call to pray, I don't want to have to hear that 5 times a day. I can't believe he is spreding propaganda like that, what a retard. Guess I have to move because he's going to bring all the trash to my neighborhood

Steinberg... Did anyone read his letter of condemnation? Yikes...

SENATOR DARRELL STEINBERG

PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE

February 18, 2011

Dear Friends,

I am heartsick and saddened in the wake of Wednesday’s forum, “Never Again for Anyone” by the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network held at Sacramento’s SALAM Center. Despite a flurry of letters from Sacramento’s Jewish leaders urging the mosque leaders to reconsider the decision to allow this forum, or to at least find a less polarizing venue for this divisive discussion, the decision was made to allow the show to go on. Imam Azeez of the SALAM Center cited First Amendment concerns about censoring speakers who rent the facility.

And while the Jewish leaders that argued against this forum understandably chose to boycott the speech, they counted on their civic brethren to stand up and exercise their First Amendment rights to defend their Jewish neighbors against such an outrageous rewrite of history. That includes the Muslim community which showed up in force at the event and the Japanese American Citizens Leagues (JACL) which co-sponsored the event.

Here are just a few excerpts from the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network literature passed out at the event:

Zionists’…goal of a “Jewish state” in Palestine preceded the Nazi atrocities by decades. Jewish statehood as a method of achieving political power was born out of the same nineteenth century European ideal of a “racially pure” nation and Western “civilization” of which Nazism was the most pernicious expression. In pursuit of this goal, Zionist leaders made “transfer agreements with the Nazis, but only for Jews willing to settle in Palestine
As part of this collaboration, Zionists refused to observe the international boycott of Nazi Germany initiated by Jewish labor groups, and even kept silent about impending plans to deport Jews into Nazi death camps.
Zionism both exploited and hinged upon the rise of Nazism, and later, the Holocaust, to transform what had been a small nationalist movement with little support (even among Jews) into one capable of achieving statehood, based on support from the US and other imperial powers.

In essence, they are saying Jews orchestrated the Holocaust. Talk about blaming the victims!

Sacramento has a rich tradition of respecting the histories of its diverse population and holds itself out as a model of how to showcase diversity as a strength. We have struggled to set aside historical differences and achieve common understanding.

Sacramento has coalesced into an informal, yet close-knit collection of civil rights organizations, including JACL, Council on American-Islamic Relations, and many others who for the past decade have stood arm in arm in the face of several hateful and violent attacks based on race, creed, color, nationality, religion or sexual orientation occurring in our community. We have attended each other’s religious observances and celebrated unity together.

We rallied in support of one another following acts of violence against Muslim Americans in the wake of 9/11; the serial firebombings of the JACL headquarters, the home of Chinese-American Councilmember Jimmy Yee, Sacramento synagogues, and a women’s health center; the murder of a gay couple in their own home by Christian fundamentalist brothers; multiple violent “gay-bashings;” and periodic culture clashes between Slavic Christians and the LGBT community in Sacramento.

I have weathered strong criticism by many who share my Jewish faith for my support of Muslim organizations, yet I have remained steadfastly supportive. I hope and expect that those who participated in and sponsored this event will speak out publicly and clearly that the gross claims cited above are untrue and unacceptable.

Sincerely,

DARRELL STEINBERG
