Sorry to go off-topic here, but this is an important story. The Austrian anti-jihad activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was convicted in Vienna this morning of “hate speech”, and fined €480.

Her “crime” was giving informational seminars on Islam, and the prosecution’s case against her was based on her saying that Mohammed was a pedophile.

Specific charges: on the count of “incitement to hatred”, not guilty. On the count of “denigration of religious beliefs of a legally recognized religion”, guilty.

The core problem of the Maghreb is moving north into Europe via Italy's tiny island of Lampedusa. The multiculturalism-chickens are coming 'home' to roost. Now that open borders are the norm in Europe, they'll be 'roosting' in their mosques all over, producing more "radicalized" Jihad-hatchlings all over the West. Now Tunisia, tomorrow Egypt... and Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Jordan, Syria, Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Nigeria, Tanzania, Turkey, Caucasus, Indonesia, Bangladesh... and when the mullahs lose power, Iran. All of Islam is coming 'home to roost' in the Infidel West... These Western ways of ours can be understood in either of two ways: (1) A set of ideas produced in the English Enlightenment as a way to achieve a workable separation between the realms of government and civil society (civil society including religion). (2) A set of ideas produced in the French Enlightenment as a way to cancel and replace religious ideas and religion in both government and civil society, replacing religion everywhere in society with substitutes. So, these Western ways of ours are of two kinds, even though they might seem the same when referred to with the same words. In sense (1) religion is not replaced by things like democracy, free speech etc. It remains, still strong, in its own sphere of action. But in sense (2) religion will whither away when these Enlightenment ideas and practices are introduced into any society.

I want to comment on one thing. Jasser in recorded interview with Pamela (I believe in 2008, near the end of the interview) referred to the "occupied territories" in Israel, presumably Judea, Samaria (the so-called West Bank), Jerusalem, etc. In his American Thinker piece he defends himself saying P. Geller charged he called all of Israel "occupied territory," which she did not, nor did he.

This kind of language from most critics of Israel is unsurprising and certainly much / most of the Muslim world consider that Israel's Jews illegally 'occupy' historic Muslim land. Italian Sheikh Professor Abdul Palazzi is one of few notable exceptions to this rule. Like Spencer wrote earlier, even if Sheikh Palazzi points to one or two verses in the Qur'an justifying the Jewish people's right to possess the land of Israel, there are plenty of verses in the Qur'an to counter it, including that the Jews violated our covenant with God (or Allah) and whatever promises God made to the Jews during the exodus from Egypt are null and void.

The point I am making here is that for a Muslim enemy of Israel (what I call a non-peaceful Muslim) to speak about an "illegal occupation" of land by the Jews is unremarkable. For a self-professed Muslim reformer to talk about Israeli "occupied territory" suggests to me at least, an antagonism toward the Jewish state that "could" be religiously motivated.
