In "Obama's Muslim Brotherhood Ties" in Human Events this morning, I discuss how the Muslim Brotherhood is not just in Egypt:
Barack Obama has declared that all opposition groups should have representation in the next Egyptian government, which essentially ensures that the Muslim Brotherhood will be part of that government. The Brotherhood is the largest opposition group in Egypt, so it will probably end up in the driver's seat in any new regime, and steer Egypt toward becoming an Islamic state inveterately hostile to the United States.So why isn't Obama working to limit the Brotherhood's scope and influence? Maybe because he doesn't really have a problem with the Brotherhood, despite its hostility to America. He made sure to invite Brotherhood leaders to attend his notorious speech to the Islamic world in Cairo, Egypt, in June 4, 2009. Starting in the earliest days of his administration, he showed an intense desire to establish friendly ties with Brotherhood-linked organizations--despite the Brotherhood's stated goal of "eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within."
Obama first reached out to the Brotherhood when he chose the leader of a Muslim Brotherhood-linked group that had been named an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case to give a prayer during his inauguration ceremonies. Ingrid Mattson, then-president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), offered this prayer at the National Cathedral on Obama's Inauguration Day--despite the fact that the ISNA has admitted its ties to the Brotherhood. The previous summer, federal prosecutors rejected a request from the ISNA to remove its unindicted co-conspirator status.
Obama didn't ask Mattson to explain the ISNA's links to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. On the contrary: He sent his senior adviser, Valerie Jarrett, to be the keynote speaker at the ISNA's national convention in 2009.
Even worse, in April 2009, Obama appointed Arif Alikhan, the deputy mayor of Los Angeles, as assistant secretary for policy development at the Department of Homeland Security. Just two weeks before he received this appointment, Alikhan (who once called the jihad terror group Hezbollah a "liberation movement") participated in a fund-raiser for the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC). Like the ISNA, MPAC has links to the Muslim Brotherhood. In a book titled In Fraternity: A Message to Muslims in America, co-author Hassan Hathout, a former MPAC president, is identified as "a close disciple of the late Hassan al-Banna of Egypt. "The MPAC-linked magazine The Minaret spoke of Hathout's closeness to al-Banna in a 1997 article: "My father would tell me that Hassan Hathout was a companion of Hassan al-Banna. ... Hassan Hathout would speak of al-Banna with such love and adoration; he would speak of a relationship not guided by politics or law but by a basic sense of human decency."
The late al-Banna, of course, was the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood....

Yes, we well remember the prayer in question. It was the seven verses of al-Fatiha, the opening lines from the Qur'an

It was praised by everyone at the time for its beauty and wonderful, peaceful message.
Of course, no one at the prayer breakfast seemed to understand who the players in lines 7 are.
The [straight] path of those whom Thou has favored = Muslims
Those who earn thine anger = Jews
Those who go astray = Christians
This prayer is recited five times of day by observant Muslims and is essentially an expression of condemnation of Jews and Muslims. Robert and JW readers immediately caught this but virtually no one else did at the time, and Matson was praised for being a fine example of religious tolerance among Muslims.

Am I correct in thinking that, once upon a time, the Taliban were allies of the USA who provided them with support, weapons, and so on?
Then there was this Saddam Hussein guy who also was supported by the USA, once upon a time.
Yet when Iran wanted wanted to negotiate upon seeing a 7 day trip to Baghdad in 2003, those amzingingly pious and holy leaders of the free world stated they don't negotiate with evil.
I guess they just support evil in many parts of the world as they somehow think allies like the taliban and saddam are not evil?
Maybe we should all go buy more shares in weapons manufacturers who will benefit when we have to liberate the Egyptions from the moslem brotherhood government we put in?

Why doesn't Obama just go ahead and announce talks w/ al-Qaeda, which is a subsidiary of the Muslim Brotherhood? If they're okay in Cairo, let them take over Islamabad & Kabul once again!

Many Muslims claim the Bible has been corrupted. Yet, the Qur’an says Muslims must go to and believe the previous Scriptures as they are from Allah (Surahs 10:94; 21:7; 29:46; 4:136 & 5:46-47,69). Would their god, Allah, ask them to go to a corrupted book? What’s more, it couldn’t have been corrupted after the Qur’an, since there are over 230 manuscripts of the NT, hundreds of translations in 11 languages, 3,135 lectionaries, and over 36,000 Early Church Father’s Quotations all compiled before the Qur’an came into existence! There is no other book, secular or religious, which can make those claims.

In my experience the "my books better than you book" arguements don't really get very far.
and even if hte arguement was pertinent to the topic, your logic is flawed. The great peaodphile, Mo, was claiming in the present tense that his revelations are not contradictory with the Bible. The belief that the Bible was corrupt came about much later when moslems started to compare the teachings of the great peado, children be under him, with the Bible and found contradictions. The conclusion was that the Bible has been altered. This will have taken place after the koran was written.
To disprove this, you just need to go look at sianaticus in the British Museaum which predates mo by 300 years.
I guess this may be were the relevence of your post comes in because moslems will erase or rewite history to match the koran rather than accept the koran is wrong. So expect the Moslem Brotherhood to destroy the items in egypt that show the great pagan nation along with any texts of the bible there that predate the mo-koran and of course the texts in egypt of an islamic period that show the variations of the koran and islamic teachings.
you may have more success in your arguements buy understanding the moslem notion that every prophet has a miracle and mo's was the koran. Then understand a book is pretty amazing thing to the one group in the world that is still (and was at mo's time) largely illiterate and far behing the surrounding civilised literate societies.

Excellent article on the methods of the MB in Egypt, the total misreading of what's happening there by Obama and the MSM. Finally a statement of the only two possible outcomes from the Egyptian riots, namely
a) Mubarak and security forces regain control. Don't count this tough guy out yet. He's a survivor. Time's on his side.
b) The MB take over. They're waiting in the wings, letting the secular demonstrators be the face of the protests. If Mubarak is forced out, the MB will take control and wipe out their erstwhile allies.

Well a good majority of people DID NOT vote for Obama because they were intelligent enough to know what that would mean. They have every right to call him out on his failings and there are many.
As for both parties uniting for the good of the country, it's a nice pipe dream, too bad it will likely never come true. When half the population is steeped in a "progressive" ideology that despises capitalism and America & everything it stands for including it's history and culture, I don't see much hope for "United We Stand". Maybe a catastrophe of monumental proportions might accomplish that but anything short of it is doubtful.

If you had been born and raised in America, you would realize that there are certain values we do not let slide. Many Americans, thru' lack of insight, voted for a black man even tho' his questionable values were on display for all who cared to look. Some of them are still in such denial they will not admit he is dismantling our country.
As for the rest of us, we see him insult our allies and give their secrets away while cozying up to those who would defeat us or take us over. We know about the trillions of dollars unaccounted for or given to Third World dictators,. We see and hear proof that this president is out to harm/destroy the country we love.
We know about his cancelling permits for mining, drilling, and fishing, along with restrictions on manufacturing and farming. We have recently had rolling blackouts because he will not let us use our own energy, but gives permission to our enemies to drill here! His acts are inexcusable.
We can not get together with those who will not fight to save our country, but would give it over on a silver platter to a marxist muslim who's whole life is a secret
and a lie. It is more apparent every day that he is pushing us toward sharia, and most of us would rather die.
I hear this argument a lot, which writings are correct, which book is corrupted---and, even though I believe that the Bible is the word of God---let's just say there were no religious books in the world, no written guidance: Does anyone really need to be told by a higher being that it's wrong to throw stones at a young woman until she dies and then fling her body into a ditch? Does anybody need to be told by a higher being that it's wrong to kill someone because their opinion is different than yours? Don't we know not to cut off someone's hand?
Isn't everybody born with the basic knowledge of right and wrong. When I was 3 years old and went to play with the neighbor kids, my mom didn't have to first instruct me not to throw rocks or try to kill them. Apparently at 3 years I already had this knowledge.

Sometimes the United States backs evil regimes like backing Stalin against Hitler or Saddam Hussein against the Iranian regime. But that is only when good alternatives are not available or are too weak to be of any help in a crisis. There are very, vary few good alternatives in the Islamic World.
Sharia law, which enforces Islamic principles, is a requirement on all Muslims. Mohammad's doctrine of taysir lifts the burden of Sharia from Muslim enforcement only until there are enough Muslims and/or Muslims in power to make enforcement possible. Obama is seeking to put enough Muslims in power so that Sharia law can be enforced. When the global jihad recognizes their political Mahdi, who will unite all Muslims, taysir will be lifted.
Yes, good point. The global jihad counts on the U.S. backing a "secular" leader/government in a Muslim majority country. It feeds their propaganda of defensive jihad for Islam against non-Muslims who would circumvent Sharia and "oppress" Muslims by not letting them live submitted to Islam under Sharia. It helps them recruit those "inspired" to die for jihad against non-Muslim "invaders" and "occupiers" and "apostates" to Islam (e.g., those who do not submit to Islamic rule).
