However, whether the three will be able to enter the U.S., especially Izzadeen, remains to be seen. Even a tourist visa requires applicants to answer questions on whether they have been involved in acts of terrorism or plan to commit crimes in the U.S.

The East London-based cleric's anti-American stance is well-documented. Last year he led protesters in burning the American flag outside the U.S. embassy in London on September 11.
And in October, he told an ABC chat show that 'one day the flag of Islam will fly over the White House.'
He told the Daily Star: 'They have seen our activities in the UK and Europe and have decided they want to challenge the vacuum in freedom and democracy and the people in the front line of the struggle against Islam and Muslims - the American government and the establishment.
'They have invited and myself and Sayful Islam from Luton to come over to address the crowd and rally support.'
'We are going to address corruption in the Senate, corrupt foreign policy, the mayhem around the Muslim world, the drug and alcohol culture, promiscuity and the pandemic of crime in America.
'It is only right the call is made in the heart of Western civilisation in front of the biggest pharaoh that exists today, which is Barack Obama.'
He added: 'I think the American people's hearts and minds are open to receive Islam as an alternative way of life. We expect thousands to come out and support us.'

Isn't a call for sharia to replace our Constitution and judiciary system a call to overthrow the established government of the United States? And isn't this (1) a cause for barring entrance into the USA for outsiders, and (2) a definition of treason or misprision of treason for someone living here? There could be a problem with giving public attention to Choudary and his group and it's that, in the context of jihad, they really are what we generally refer to as Lunatic Fringe when analyzing any political movement. Apparently Choudary likes to chastise and condemn America for being immoral and decadent. His implied assumption is that American society lacks the capability to have a revival of more traditional morality and values, it's not something even possible, we Americans have never been able to reaffirm bedrock values, it has all been downhill for us ever since the start. Enforce existing counterterrorism laws and provide new and sweeping powers to all federal, state, and local counterterrorism agencies to enhance and advance their existing counterterrorism missions and capabilities to protect our homeland from ALL aspects of Islamic jihad.
• Purge all Islamic propaganda from all educational textbooks in schools and universities and replace it with the true 1400 year history of Islam: that it is a totalitarian ideology of hatred, racism, bigotry, slavery, pedophilia, terrorism, domination, and subjugation that is intent on total world domination under a Caliphate of Islamic states.
• Prohibit the election to any federal, state, or local office by any Muslim who supports any aspect of Sharia.

Well, many people start out emphasizing the positive aspects in order to get people to contemplate why they might join up an organization or make a big change in their lives before letting them know of some of the less positive tenants.
Insulting the millions of hard working, law abiding citizens (no matter what their religious beliefs) by beginning with accusing them of illegal acts probably is not one of those sure to make people want to come join your parade moves. I could be wrong but I just don't see it as a big drawing card.

Choudary's views reflect the views of millions upon millions in the Middle East and elsewhere. In the West, he's probably more extreme than most of his fellow Muslims, but that's not to say those other Muslims are completely against his ideas. According to polls in Britain, large percentages of Muslims believe that there should be punishment for apostasy, that people who insult Islam should be jailed/killed, and that killing for Islam is sometimes justified. "Moderate" Muslims often times hold very extreme views, yet for some reason, we insist that they are "moderates."
Choudary seems to follow Islam the way it is designed to be followed. His beliefs more closely emulate the life of Muhammad, the perfect Islamic role model, than the beliefs of the "live and let live, day-to-day" Muslims.
Assuming your are a Muslim, on what grounds do you disagree with Choudary? Then, explain how those differing beliefs are supported by the Qur'an and the life of Muhammad. You might just find out that Choudary is a better Islamic example than you are, if we are using the Qur'an as a gauge.

It would be inconsistent to block Choudary's entry, where his candid purpose is both to incite violence and to dare Obama to block his entry, and not also find that ordinary imams routinely incite violence each and every Friday.
How is he "extremist"? This cannot be answered except when a comparison is made to the routine incitement offered by ordinary imams. If Choudary is excluded then so too must all imams, and perhaps all Muslims that do not renounce their belief and the practice of the same.
Local imams advocate violence on a routine basis (or so I hear), though they couple it with a wink-wink suggestion that actual violence be postponed until the time is right (except for Muslim associates that stray and stray out of the country into a realm where Islam is the official law of the land). The prospect of immediate violence from each and every Muslim member of the expected audience would be too low to meet the "clear and present danger" test. It might be called "hate" speech. But it is a different kind of hate than if I said I hate spinach. It is a chest thumping and finger poking on the chest of another sort of hate. The word "hate" is an insufficient adjective to describe it. The provocation is like the "fighting words" at issue in Chaplinsky; he is here to call us all damned infidels (outside a Mosque for all to hear?)

Choudary is certainly on a mission to promote slavery, including the promotion of the capture enslavement and rape of little girls. If Obama were to say that he "opposed slavery" then this would be sufficient for him to oppose Islam and to repel the scouting trip of any slave trader within the US.
Would Obama find any of the conduct described in this link on Islamic support for treating little girls as sex slaves objectionable? If Obama lets Choudary in the front door then I can conclude that Obama supports sex-slavery, and advocacy of the same here.
The absence of slavery must be an example of a corruption that Choudary (and Obama) would like to remedy. (That is what is already meant by "Diversity.")
We could use a cartoon portraying them partaking in the Islamic privilege of child sex slavery in a world free of the corruption of the absence of approval of child sex-slaves. (Perhaps only as just one of 200 waiting patiently -- and very politely to one another, offering PBUHs -- in line for their turn.) (Perhaps include pretty-boy Reza Aslan in the waiting line too.) Respond to Choudary's provacation, appropriately, with a provocation representing the true face of his individual choice to act like a barbarian and to peddle it to others. (Caption: "The joy of Islam.") Include Obama in the line to force him to take a position on the matter, as a burning issue of public importance.
Such a cartoon would be more on point than quibbling about the voracity of a pledge by any elected public official to protect the free speech of non-Muslims against barbarity-in-general, and thus necessarily against all Muslim men for the very same reason. Muslimness is not an immutable characteristic like eye color; Muslims are human and have free will to reject barbarity and thus reject Islam.

For what it's worth, I'm revising my first impressions of the character Anjem Choudary as merely a loud-mouth clown. Further investigation: He's a loudmouth but a serious longtime jihadist with connections to terrorists. He travels around alot, and mingles with the international jihadi set. There's info on him at discoverthenetworks and other places. (Knowing about the specifics of these individuals has never been an interest of mine. I'm interested more in learning how they think). Anjem Choudary is a British Citizen. Therefore, for short visits or for tourism he does not require a Visa. He should be allowed in and also allowed to carry out his march for Sharia law. It is extraordinary that someone who is not even a citizen of the country can march to demand change of laws and overthrow of the constitution.
Still, its a good idea to let him march. It will wake up America and the world to such fools.

Choudary doesn't do that. He plays it straight in the hope that our freedom of expression law and culture will shield him.
Mostly it does but there's also a court of public opinion and each time the Daily Mail publishes these tales of his chutzpa the comment section fills. And fills, often reaching the thousands.
I can tell you there's not much support amongst that lot whose learning curve gets steeper by the day.

Mr. Choudary’s student days of sybaritic fun, as a drunkard and a goinfre of pornography, may have put him slightly off track, but eventually, he had his grand rediscovery of Islam. He must have realized that he was only a marginally competent student from a middling school, and that life as a lowly solicitor would be rather difficult. Why hack away at legal contracts and office politics, when it’s much easier to accept the dole? It takes far less effort to use money earned by others, infidel money, which, according to Islamic thought, actually belongs to Allah and the Ummah and not to his neighbors or fellow citizens. It’s far better to be a gadfly hoping to be a revolutionary, when one lacks the discipline or skill to do something useful.
A life as a professional Muslim solved Mr. Choudary’s vocational problems. He probably thinks that what he does is in some way profound, that he leads backsliders to return to Islam and wins the occasional infidel to the faith. Maybe he hopes for a place as an Obersünni, a leader of other Sunnis in the cause of Allah, but he may fail in that. People may end up remembering him for something else.
With his studied costumes, and his bushy Islamic beard, historians may one day see him as a sort of dandy, a kind of Islamic Beau Brummell. Look at any photograph or video of one of Anjem Choudary’s protests. Among the raging barbarians in their shapeless jackets and sloppy denim, Mr. Choudary, beaming in his well-kept and carefully pressed clothes, is always the one who looks as if he has been dressed by a fussy valet. And he does seem to have a quite a number of those little piss-cup hats, each one in a different color. Well, it is more proper I think, to call them caps, whether they are kufis, tagiyas, or variations on the tuque, but they are the deliberate sign of his loyalty to Islam. For him it is Islam above all else, without any serious thought to its ethical flaws - so much for his education in the British school system. As an ordinary man, he has no excuse for his Jew hatred, but as a Muslim, he believes that he has the duty to hate the Jews, and therefore the right to act on that virulent hatred. His act is to speak against the Jews and the West. For that, and for his support of Sharia law, his desire to see Islam triumph in all its evil and for the craven need to emulate the reprehensible Muhammad, Anjem Choudary deserves a little opprobrium, that mocking epithet "piss-cup" and Islam itself deserves far worse.
