Geert Wilders: The Failure of Multiculturalism and How to Turn the Tide

Geert Wilders's speech at the Annual Lecture at the Magna Carta Foundation in Rome on March 25:

Signore e signori, ladies and gentlemen, dear friends of the Magna Carta Foundation, molte grazie. Thank you for inviting me to Rome. It is great to be here in this beautiful city which for many centuries was the capital and the centre of Europe’s Judeo-Christian culture.

Together with Jerusalem and Athens, Rome is the cradle of our Western civilization – the most advanced and superior civilization the world has ever known.

As Westerners, we share the same Judeo-Christian culture. I am from the Netherlands and you are from Italy. Our national cultures are branches of the same tree. We do not belong to multiple cultures, but to different branches of one single culture. This is why when we come to Rome, we all come home in a sense. We belong here, as we also belong in Athens and in Jerusalem.

It is important that we know where our roots are. If we lose them we become deracinated. We become men and women without a culture.

I am here today to talk about multiculturalism. This term has a number of different meanings. I use the term to refer to a specific political ideology. It advocates that all cultures are equal. If they are equal it follows that the state is not allowed to promote any specific cultural values as central and dominant. In other words: multiculturalism holds that the state should not promote a leitkultur, which immigrants have to accept if they want to live in our midst.

It is this ideology of cultural relativism which the German Chancellor Angela Merkel recently referred to when she said that multiculturalism has proved “an absolute failure.”
My friends, I dare say that we have known this all along. Indeed, the premise of the multiculturalist ideology is wrong. Cultures are not equal. They are different, because their roots are different. That is why the multiculturalists try to destroy our roots.

Rome is a very appropriate place to address these issues. There is an old saying which people of our Western culture are all familiar with. “When in Rome, do as the Romans do,” it says. This is an obvious truth: If you move somewhere, you must adapt to the laws and customs of the land.

The multicultural society has undermined this rule of common sense and decency. The multicultural society tells the newcomers who settle in our cities and villages: You are free to behave contrary to our norms and values. Because your norms and values are just as good, perhaps even better, than ours.

It is, indeed, appropriate to discuss these matters here in Rome, because the history of Rome also serves as a warning.

Will Durant, the famous 20th century American historian, wrote that “A great civilization cannot be destroyed from outside if it has not already destroyed itself from within.” This is exactly what happened here, in Rome, 16 centuries ago.

In the 5th century, the Roman Empire fell to the Germanic Barbarians. There is no doubt that the Roman civilization was far superior to that of the Barbarians. And yet, Rome fell. Rome fell because it had suffered a loss of belief in its own civilization. It had lost the will to stand up and fight for survival.

Rome did not fall overnight. Rome fell gradually. The Romans scarcely noticed what was happening. They did not perceive the immigration of the Barbarians as a threat until it was too late. For decades, Germanic Barbarians, attracted by the prosperity of the Empire, had been crossing the border.

At first, the attraction of the Empire on newcomers could be seen as a sign of the cultural, political and economic superiority of Rome. People came to find a better life which their own culture could not provide. But then, on December 31st in the year 406, the Rhine froze and tens of thousands of Germanic Barbarians, crossed the river, flooded the Empire and went on a rampage, destroying every city they passed. In 410, Rome was sacked.

The fall of Rome was a traumatic experience. Numerous books have been written about the cataclysmal event and Europeans were warned not to make the same mistake again. In 1899, in his book ‘The River War,’ Winston Churchill warned that Islam is threatening Europe in the same way as the Barbarians once threatened Rome. “Mohammedanism,” Churchill wrote – I quote – “is a militant and proselytizing faith. No stronger retrograde force exists in the World. […] The civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.” End of quote.

Churchill is right. However, if Europe falls, it will fall because, like ancient Rome, it no longer believes in the superiority of its own civilization. It will fall because it foolishly believes that all cultures are equal and that, consequently, there is no reason why we should fight for our own culture in order to preserve it.

This failure to defend our own culture has turned immigration into the most dangerous threat that can be used against the West. Multiculturalism has made us so tolerant that we tolerate the intolerant.

Ladies and gentlemen, make no mistake: Our opponents are keenly aware of our weakness. They realize that the pattern which led to the fall of Rome, is at play today in the West. They are keenly aware of the importance of Rome as a symbol of the West. Over and over again they hint at the fall of Rome. Rome is constantly on their minds.

• The former Turkish Prime Minister Erbakan said – I quote: “The whole of Europe will become Islamic. We will conquer Rome”.
• Yunis al-Astal, a Hamas cleric and member of the Palestinian Parliament said – I quote: “Very soon Rome will be conquered.”
• Ali Al-Faqir, the former Jordanian Minister of Religion, stated that – I quote: “Islam will conquer Rome.”
• Sheikh Muhammad al-Arifi, imam of the mosque of the Saudi Defence Academy, said – I quote: “We will control Rome and introduce Islam in it.”
Our opponents are hoping for an event that is akin to the freezing of the Rhine in 406, when thousands of immigrants will be given an easy opportunity to cross massively into the West.
• In a 1974 speech to the UN, the Algerian President Houari Boumédienne, said – I quote: “One day, millions of men will leave the Southern Hemisphere to go to the Northern Hemisphere. And they will not go there as friends. Because they will go there to conquer it. And they will conquer it with their sons. The wombs of our women will give us victory.” End of quote.
• Libyan dictator Kadhafi said, I quote: “There are tens of millions of Muslims in the European continent today and their number is on the increase. This is the clear indication that the European continent will be converted into Islam. Europe will one day soon be a Muslim continent.” End of quote.

Our opponents are aiming for a repetition of the fall of Rome in the 5th century and want to use exactly the same methods. “The strategy of exporting human beings and having them breed in abundance is the simplest way to take possession of a territory,” warned the famous Italian author Oriana Fallaci.

However, the situation today could be worse than it was when the Roman Empire fell. The Germanic Barbarians who overran Rome were not driven by an ideology. After having sacked Rome, they eventually adopted the Judeo-Christian civilization of Rome. They destroyed Rome because they wanted its riches, but they realized and recognized that Roman civilization was superior to their own Barbaric culture.

Having destroyed Rome, the Germanic tribes eventually tried to rebuild it. In 800, the Frankish leader Charlemagne had himself crowned Roman Emperor. Three hundred years later, the Franks and the other Europeans would go on the Crusades in defence of their Christian culture. The Crusades were as Oriana Fallaci wrote – I quote – a “counter-offensive designed to stem Islamic expansionism in Europe.” Rome had fallen, but like a phoenix it had risen again.

Contrary to the Barbarians which confronted Rome, the followers of Muhammad are driven by an ideology which they want to impose on us.

Islam is a totalitarian ideology. Islamic Shariah law supervises every detail of life. Islam is not compatible with our Western way of life. Islam is a threat to our values. Respect for people who think otherwise, the equality of men and women, the equality of homosexuals and heterosexuals, respect for Christians, Jews, unbelievers and apostates, the separation of church and state, freedom of speech, they are all under pressure because of islamization.

Europe is islamizing at a rapid pace. Many European cities have large islamic concentrations. In some neighbourhoods, Islamic regulations are already being enforced. Women’s rights are being trampled. We are confronted with headscarves and burqa’s, polygamy, female genital mutilation, honour-killings. “In each one of our cities” says Oriana Fallaci, “there is a second city, a state within the state, a government within the government. A Muslim city, a city ruled by the Koran.” – End of quote.

Ladies and gentlemen, make no mistake: The multiculturalist Left is facilitating islamization. Leftist multiculturalists are cheering for every new shariah bank, for every new islamic school, for every new mosque. Multiculturalists consider Islam as being equal to our own culture. Shariah law or democracy? Islam or freedom? It doesn’t really matter to them. But it does matter to us. The entire leftist elite is guilty of practising cultural relativism. Universities, churches, trade unions, the media, politicians. They are all betraying our hard-won liberties.

Ladies and gentlemen, what is happening in Europe today has to some extent been deliberately planned.

In October 2009, Andrew Neather, the former advisor of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, confirmed that the British Government had deliberately organized mass immigration as part of a social engineering project. The Blair Government wanted to – I quote – “make the UK truly multicultural.” To achieve this end, 2.3 million foreigners were allowed to enter Britain between 2000 and 2009. Neather says this policy has “enriched” Britain.

Ordinary people, however, do not consider the decline of societal cohesion, the rise of crime, the transformation of their old neighborhoods into no-go zones, to be an “enrichment.”

Ordinary people are well aware that they are witnessing a population replacement phenomenon. Ordinary people feel attached to the civilization which their ancestors created. They do not want it to be replaced by a multicultural society where the values of the immigrants are considered as good as their own. It is not xenophobia or islamophobia to consider our Western culture as superior to other cultures – it is plain common sense.
Fortunately, we are still living in a democracy. The opinion of ordinary people still matters. I am the leader of the Dutch Party of Freedom which aims to halt the Islamization process and defend the traditional values and liberties in the Netherlands. The Party of Freedom is the fastest growing party in the Netherlands.

Because the message of my party is so important, I support initiatives to establish similar parties in other countries, such as Germany, France and the United Kingdom, where they do not yet exist. Last month, a poll in Britain showed that a staggering 48 percent of the British would consider supporting a non-fascist and non-violent party that vows to crack down on immigration and Islamic extremists and restrict the building of mosques. In October last year, I was in Berlin where I gave a keynote speech at a meeting of Die Freiheit, a newly established party led by René Stadtkewitz, a former Christian-Democrat. German polls indicate that such a party has a potential of 20 percent of the electorate.

My speech, in which I urged the Germans to stop feeling ashamed about their German identity drew a lot of media attention. Two weeks later, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated that multiculturalism is “an absolute failure.” Horst Seehofer, the leader of the Bavarian Christian-Democrats, was even more outspoken. “Multiculturalism is dead,” he said.

Last month, French President Nicolas Sarkozy said: “We have been too concerned about the identity of the immigrant and not enough about the identity of the country that was receiving him.” – End of quote.

Five weeks ago, British Prime Minister David Cameron blamed multiculturalism for Islamic extremism. “We have allowed the weakening of our collective identity,” he said. “Under the doctrine of state multiculturalism, we have encouraged different cultures to live […] apart from the mainstream.” – End of quote.

In his speech, David Cameron still makes a distinction between the Islamist ideology, which he calls extremist and dangerous, and Islam, which he says is peaceful religion. I do not share this view, and neither did Cameron’s great predecessor Winston Churchill. Stating that Islam is peaceful is a multiculturalist dogma which is contrary to the truth.
Politicians such as Merkel. Sarkozy and Cameron still do not seem to have understood what the problem really is. Nevertheless, the fact that they feel compelled to distance themselves from multiculturalism is a clear indication that they realize they need to pay lip-service to what the majority of their populations have long understood. Namely that the massive influx of immigrants from Islamic countries is the most negative development that Europe has known in the past 50 years.

Yesterday, a prestigious poll in the Netherlands revealed that 50 percent of the Dutch are of the opinion that Islam and democracy are not compatible, while 42 percent think they are. Even two thirds of the voters of the Liberal Party and of the Christian-Democrat Party are convinced that Islam and democracy are not compatible.

This, then, is the political legacy of multiculturalism. While the parties of the Left have found themselves a new electorate, the establishment parties of the Right still harbour their belief that Islam is a religion of peace on a par with peaceful religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism and others.

The problem with multiculturalism is a refusal to see reality. The reality that our civilization is superior, and the reality that Islam is a dangerous ideology.

Today, we are confronted with political unrest in the Arab countries. Autocratic regimes, such as that of Ben Ali in Tunisia, Mubarak in Egypt, Kadhafi in Libya, the Khalifa dynasty in Bahrain, and others, have been toppled or are under attack. The Arab peoples long for freedom. This is only natural. However, the ideology and culture of Islam is so deeply entrenched in these countries that real freedom is simply impossible. As long as Islam remains dominant there can be no real freedom.

Let us face reality. On March 8, the International Women’s Day, 300 women demonstrated on Cairo’s Tahrir Square in post-Mubarak Egypt. Within minutes, the women were charged by a group of bearded men, who beat them up and dragged them away. Some were even sexually assaulted. The police did not interfere. This is the new Egypt: On Monday, people demonstrate for freedom; on Tuesday, the same people beat up women because they, too, demand freedom.

I fear that in Islamic countries, democracy will not lead to real freedom. A survey by the American Pew Center found that 59 percent of Egyptians prefer democracy to any other form of government. However, 85 percent say that Islam’s influence on politics is good, 82 percent believe that adulterers should be stoned, 84 percent want the death penalty for apostates, and 77 percent say that thieves should be flogged or have their hands cut off.
Ronald Reagan was right when he called Kadhafi a “mad dog.” However, we should not harbor the illusion that there can be real freedom and real democracy in a country where Islam is dominant. There is no doubt that the results of the Pew survey in Egypt apply in Libya, too. It is not in our interest to bring the Muslim Brotherhood to power in Tripoli and install a khalifate in Libya.

Of course, the world has to stop Kadhafi from killing his own people. However, as UN Resolution 1973 stated last week, this is primarily the responsibility of – I quote – “in particular [the] States of the region.” End of quote. Why does a country like the Netherlands have to contribute six F16 fighter jets to enforce the arms embargo in Libya, while Saudi Arabia does not contribute a single plane from its fleet of nearly 300 fighter jets? Arabs are dying, but the Arab countries are shirking their responsibilities.

And one of the major threats of the current crisis is not even addressed by our leaders: How are we going to prevent that thousands of economic fugitives and fortune seekers cross the Mediterranean and arrive at place like Lampedusa? Now that Tunisia is liberated, young Tunisians should help to rebuild their country instead of leaving for Lampedusa. Europe cannot afford another influx of thousands of refugees.

Ladies and gentlemen,

It is time to wake up. We need to confront reality and we need to speak the truth. The truth is that Islam is evil, and the reality is that Islam is a threat to us.

Before I continue I want to make clear, however, that I do not have a problem with Muslims as such. There are many moderate Muslims. That is why I always make a clear distinction between the people and the ideology, between Muslims and Islam. There are many moderate Muslims, but there is no such thing as a moderate Islam.

Islam strives for world domination. The koran commands Muslims to exercise jihad and impose shariah law.

Telling the truth about immigration and warning that Islam might not be as benevolent as the ruling elite says, has been made a hate speech crime in several EU member states. As you probably know, I have been brought to court on charges of hate speech. That is the paradox of the multicultural society. It claims to be pluralistic, but allows only one point of view of world affairs, namely that all cultures are equal and that they are all good.
The fact that we are treated as criminals for telling the truth must not, however, deter us. The truth that Islam is evil has always been obvious to our ancestors. That is why they fought. It was very clear to them that our civilization was far superior to Islam.

It is not difficult to understand why our culture is far better than Islam. We Europeans, whether we be Christians, Jews, agnostics or atheists, believe in reason. We have always known that nothing good could be expected from Islam.

While our culture is rooted in Jerusalem, Athens and Rome, Islam’s roots are the desert and the brain of Muhammad. Our ancestors understood the consequences very well. The Koran, wrote the historian Theophanes, who lived in the second half of the 8th century, is based on hallucinations.

“Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman,” the Byzantine Emperor Manuel II said in 1391, adding: “God is not pleased by blood – and not acting reasonable is contrary to God’s nature.”

For 1,400 years, Westerners have been criticizing Islam and its founder because they recognized evil when they saw it. But then, suddenly, in the last decades of the past century, especially from the 1970s onwards, Western intellectuals stopped doing so.

The moral and cultural relativism of Marxism led the West’s political and intellectual elites to adopt a utopian belief in a universal brotherhood of mankind.

Multiculturalism is a culture of repudiation of Europe’s heritage and freedoms. It weakens the West day by day. It leads to the self-censorship of the media and academia, the collapse of the education system, the emasculation of the churches, the subversion of the nation-state, the break-down of our free society.

While today – at last – our leaders seem to realize what a disastrous failure multiculturalism has been, multiculturalism is not dead yet. More is needed to defeat multiculturalism than the simple proclamations that it has been an “absolute failure.” What is needed is that we turn the tide of Islamization.

There are a few things which we can do in this regard.

One thing which we should do is to oppose the introduction of Sharia or Islamic law in our countries. In about a dozen states in the United States, legislation is currently being introduced to prevent the introduction of Sharia. In early May, I will be travelling to the U.S. to express my support to these initiatives. We should consider similar measures in Europe.

Another thing which we should do is support Muslims who want to leave Islam. An International Women’s Day is useless in the Arab world if there is no International Leave Islam Day. I propose the introduction of such a day in which we can honor the courageous men and women who want to leave Islam. Perhaps we can pick a symbolic date for such a day and establish an annual prize for an individual who has turned his back on Islam or an organization which helps people to liberate themselves from Islam. It is very easy to become a Muslim. All one has to do is to pronounce the Shahada, the Islamic creed, which says – I quote “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.” It should be equally easy to leave Islam by pronouncing a counter-Shahada, which says “I leave Islam and join humankind.”

A third measure to turn the tide of Islamization is to reemphasize the sovereignty of the nation-state. The peoples of the free world will only be able to fight back against Islam if they can rally around a flag with which they can identify. This flag, symbolizing pre-political loyalty, can only be the flag of our nation. In the West, our freedoms are embodied in our nation-states. This is why the multiculturalists are hostile to the nation-state and aim to destroy it.

National identity is an inclusive identity: It welcomes everyone, whatever his religion or race, who is willing to assimilate into a nation by sharing the fate and future of a people. It ties the individual to an inheritance, a tradition, a loyalty, and a culture.

I want to elaborate a bit on this since we are gathered here today in Rome. Again, it is appropriate that we are in Rome. In this city, in 1957, and – what an ironic coincidence – on this very day, the 25th of March, the Treaty of Rome was signed. This Treaty obliges the member states of the European Union to aim for “an ever closer union.”

Unfortunately, this union, like other multinational organizations, has become one of the vehicles for the promotion of multiculturalism. The EU has fallen in the hands of a multiculturalist elite who by undermining national sovereignty destroy the capacity of the peoples of Europe to democratically decide their own future.

The new government in my country, which is supported by my party, wants to restrict immigration. That is what our voters want. But we are confronted by the fact that our policies have to a large extent been outsourced to “Europe” and that our voters no longer have a direct say over their own future.

On account of international treaties, EU legislation prevails over national legislation and cannot be reversed by national parliaments. Indeed, in 2008, the European Court of Justice, the highest court in the EU, annulled both Irish and Danish immigration legislation. The Court stated that national law is subordinate to whatever is ruled on the European level. In March 2010, the European Court of Justice annulled Dutch legislation restricting family reunification for immigrants on welfare.

The ease with which Europe’s political elite conducts an immigration policy aimed at the deracination of Europe shows the insensitivity of this elite. It willingly sacrifices its own people to its political goal, without any consideration for the people involved.
Lower class blue-collar people have been driven from their neighborhoods. There is no respect for their democratic vote. On the contrary, people who do not agree with the multiculturalist schemes are considered to be racists and xenophobes, while the undefined offence of “racism and xenophobia” has been made central to all moral pronouncements by the European Union, the Council of Europe, the United Nations, and other supra-national organizations. This represents a systematic assault by the elite on the ordinary feelings of national loyalty.

In 2008, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe stated that the member-states must – I quote – “condemn and combat Islamophobia” and ensure “that school textbooks do not portray Islam as a hostile or threatening religion.” – end of quote.

In March 2010, the United Nations Human Rights Council passed a resolution criminalizing so-called “defamation of religions.” The resolution, authored by Pakistan, mentions only one religion by name: Islam. With its 57 member states the Organization of the Islamic Conference systematically uses its voting power in the UN to subvert the concept of freedom and human rights. In 1990, the OIC rejected the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and replaced it by the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam, which states in articles 24 that – I quote – “All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Sharia.” – end of quote.

This “human rights” charade has to stop if Western civilization wants to survive. Human rights exist for the protection of individuals, not religions and ideologies.

The EU’s aim, meanwhile, seems to be to destroy the old sovereign nations and replace them by new provincial identities, which are all clones of each other. Britanistan will not differ from Netherlandistan, nor Germanistan from Italiastan, or any other province of the European superstate in the making.

We must reclaim Europe. We can only do so by giving political power back to the nation-state. By defending the nation-states which we love, we defend our own identity. By defending our identity, we defend who we are and what we are against those who want to deracinate us. Against those who want to cut us from our roots, so that our culture withers away and dies.

My friends,

Twenty years after the ordinary people, Europe’s mainstream conservative leaders, such as Merkel, Sarkozy and Cameron, have finally – better late than never – come to the obvious conclusion, namely that multiculturalism is a failure. However, they do not have a plan to remedy the situation.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for change. We must make haste. Time is running out. Ronald Reagan said: “We need to act today, to preserve tomorrow”. That is why I propose the following measures in order to preserve our freedom:

First, we will have to defend freedom of speech. It is the most important of our liberties. If we are free to speak, we will be able to tell people the truth and they will realize what is at stake.

Second, we will have to end cultural relativism. To the multiculturalists, we must proudly proclaim: Our Western culture is far superior to the Islamic culture. Only when we are convinced of that, we will be willing to fight for our own identity.

Third, we will have to stop Islamization. Because more Islam means less freedom. We must stop immigration from Islamic countries, we must expel criminal immigrants, we must forbid the construction of new mosques. There is enough Islam in Europe already. Immigrants must assimilate and adapt to our values: When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Fourth, we must restore the supremacy and sovereignty of the nation-state. Because we are citizens of these states, we can take pride in them. We love our nation because they are our home, because they are the legacy which our fathers bestowed on us and which we want to bestow on our children. We are not multiculturalists, we are patriots. And because we are patriots, we are willing to fight for freedom.

Let me end with a final – and a positive – remark: Though the situation is bad and multiculturalism is still predominant, we are in better shape than the Roman Empire was before its fall.

The Roman Empire was not a democracy. The Romans did not have freedom of speech. We are the free men of the West. We do not fight for an Empire, we fight for ourselves. We fight for our national republics. You fight for Italy, I fight for the Netherlands, others fight for France, Germany, Britain, Denmark or Spain. Together we stand. Together we represent the nations of Europe.

I am confident that if we can safeguard freedom of speech and democracy, our civilization will be able to survive. Europe will not fall. We, Europe’s patriots, will not allow it.

Thank you very much.

Mohammed the Arabic Pedophile rapist of creator of Islam, the creator of Islam, was the first to SYSTEMATICALLY racialize the Jews and committed the first racial Genocide of the Jews, in order to create supremacist and savage Nazi-like Arabic Empire, hence creating Islam and its blood-thirsty god to justify such savage mass murder (besides raping their women and children and keeping them as sex-slaves)! The Arab-led Muslims when they conquered medieval Europe and committed more Genocide of the Jews, thus sowed such murderous hatred and division amongst the Jews and Christians in Europe, which have not occurred before - religious conflicts, not racial ones, existed between Jews and Christians previously but not of such mass murder until influenced by Mohammed and the Arab Muslims.

"In October 2009, Andrew Neather, the former advisor of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, confirmed that the British Government had deliberately organized mass immigration as part of a social engineering project. The Blair Government wanted to – I quote – “make the UK truly multicultural.” To achieve this end, 2.3 million foreigners were allowed to enter Britain between 2000 and 2009. Neather says this policy has “enriched” Britain."

Yet people like Neather and his ilk are never to be found hanging out in these supposed areas of multicultural paradise that they have created and forced on others.

No they are far far away chooseing to live in areas nothing like those they choose to create for others!

What an Islamophobe Churchil was. Here is the full excert from The River War:

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome"

Islam is totally inimical and antithetical with our Western Judeo-Christian, Greco-Roman, civilization. Here is a book by an ex-Muslim: Islam: The Arab Imperialism (and why they so much hate the Jews, ch. 8), is a direct historical evidence why Multiculturalism ideals CANNOT coexist with Arab/Sharia/Jihad Imperialism. Their 'Prophet' would not have allowed it, ever. That the 'relativistic' Left should choose to ignore this important historical fact makes them blind to seeing their own ultimate demise before Arab Imperialism, if given a chance to conquer us. Multiculturalism is a naive idealism not suitable for the real world, and it should be abandoned in Europe and within all of the Free World. "Cultural identity" is a people's right, same as are our other human rights to personal freedom of expressions, and it should replace 'cultural relativism' wherever it is practiced. Our modern Free World's civilization rides on it. A 'reverse Shahada' makes all the sense in the world. Help those ex-Muslims who want leave Islam, it is their natural human right, our natural human liberties of a people.

Geert Wilders is, quite simply, the single greatest political leader in all of the West in this present age. My respect for him is immense.

May more and more Geert Wilders arise in Europe.

And he is right, the first thing to preserve is freedom of speech. If anti-islam speech is outlawed then the war will be lost.

This is a fine speech and should be made mandatory reading for all lovers of freedom and independence. It is a powerful warning to the West, and readers here should try to disseminate this widely to their friends and colleagues ̶ particularly those who are unfamiliar with the danger that Islam presents to all societies.

I came across this video yesterday. I feel it is somehow apropos here.

The Left doesn't want democracy. It wants a dictatorship of the proletariat, represented by the Leftist elites who know what's good for the proles since the proles are too stupid to know what's good for them, too stupid to realize how they are fooled and manipulated by the mirage of democracy that distracts them from the reality of being ruled by the rich, and too stupid to elect the right people. Therefore they need a representative dictatorship rather than a representative democracy. That goes well with the Muslims who are a global lower class and also are not fooled and lured by the illusion of democracy, and want a representative dictatorship too. Except the Left wants a dictatorship of the proletariat and the Muslims want a dictatorship of Allah, but they'll work out the differences later.

To create the new Utopian superstate of universal brotherhood living in eternal perfect peace and equality, national, religious and ethnic loyalties, that are inherently evil, need to be destroyed. The best way to do it is by mass immigration of people from other cultures, religions and ethnicities, preferably ones with oil.

Here's another. The whole piece, and plenty of it, is on...

Muslims Take Over a Europe Afraid to Open Its Eyes

(Rep. Peter King – please open America’s eyes!)

Soeren Kern, Senior Political Analyst

Hudson New York, January 20 th, 2011

Europeans often fantasize about America’s so-called Jewish lobby, which they claim has a chokehold over American finance, media and politics and is responsible for all manner of conspiratorial evil. But few Europeans like to talk about the growing influence of Europe’s Muslim lobby, a conglomeration of hundreds of Muslim political and religious organizations — many of which are media-savvy mouthpieces for militant Islam that openly pursue anti-European, anti-Western and anti-Semitic agendas and often receive financial support from Islamic fundamentalist countries like Saudi Arabia.

In a Europe where Islam is the fastest-growing religion, and where the number of Muslims has tripled over the past 30 years, Europe’s Muslim lobby is becoming increasingly assertive and skilled at pressuring European policy-makers into implementing countless pro-Islamic policies, especially ones that institutionalize Islamic Sharia law. Muslim lobby groups are, in fact, transforming European society in ways unimaginable only a few years ago; critics say their ultimate goal is nothing less than the Islamification of Europe.

Some of the most effective Muslim lobby groups are located in Britain, home to one of the largest Muslim communities in Europe, and include organizations such as the Muslim Council of Britain [MCB], Britain’s largest Muslim umbrella body with around 500 affiliated national, regional and local organizations, mosques, charities and schools. It recently pressured the British government into adopting Islamic law and giving Sharia courts full powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.

The British government has quietly sanctioned the powers for Sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence. Whereas previously, the rulings of Sharia courts in Britain could not be enforced, and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims, rulings issued by a network of five Sharia courts are now enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through the county courts or High Court. Sharia courts with these powers have been set up in Birmingham, Bradford, London and Manchester and the network’s headquarters are located in Nuneaton, Warwickshire; and two more courts are being planned for Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Overall, at least 85 Islamic Sharia courts are now operating in Britain, almost 20 times as many as previously believed. A study by the Civitas think tank found that scores of unofficial tribunals and councils regularly apply Islamic law to resolve domestic, marital and business disputes, many operating in mosques. The study warns of a “creeping” acceptance of Sharia principles in British law.)

Although the MCB, which represents half of the country’s 3 million Muslims, presents itself as the moderate face of Islam in Britain, the group has its origins in the extreme orthodox politics of Pakistan. The MCB and some of its affiliates sympathize with, and have links to, conservative Islamist movements in the Muslim world, particularly the Muslim Brotherhood and Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami, a radical party committed to the establishment of an Islamic state in Pakistan ruled by Sharia law.

Far from promoting moderate Islam, the MCB’s real objective, critics say, is to help Muslims in Britain become more radical in their beliefs.

Among other positions, the MCB believes death is the appropriate penalty for apostasy and homosexuality. The group recently endorsed a pro-Hamas declaration that calls for Jihad against Jews and Israel, and condones attacks on British troops. The MCB also regularly makes headlines for boycotting Holocaust Memorial Day ceremonies in Britain; it is also campaigning for the establishment of an alternative Genocide Memorial Day that will “incorporate similar tragedies.”

Hey kafir4life, give us a break! Churchill was a great leader who defeated the Nazis and Fascism - and he was right and bravely speaking the truths against the fascist Islam and its evilness! So, an infidel, non-Arab and a Christian convert like me, who had to escape from savage Islam-Arabic SLAVERY , is an 'Islamophobe' when rebelling against such SLAVERY and lies? Get a civilized education!

Of course, scientific achievement is not the only way to judge a culture, but it is certainly an important consideration. As Geert points out, Western civilization uses reason; reason is basically forbidden in Islam, since Allah creates everything, and can do anything. Thus, the study of science, and reason itself, is meaningless. Just because the sun has risen in the east for thousands of years does not mean it will tomorrow, since Allah may choose to make it rise in the north, instead. (In fact, there are some Islamic stories relating to the end-times that say that the sun will then rise in the north.) Anyway, this over-arching lack of belief in reason is at the very core of Islamic civilizational failure. And, one of the best examples of this total failure is the simple fact that over the last 100 years, or so, 4 Muslims have received a Nobel Prize (excluding the "peace prize", which is more a mark of shame than an accomplishment. This is from a group of over 1 BILLION people! On the other hand, in the same time period, 141 Jews have won Nobel Prizes! This is from a group of about 16 to 19 MILLION! If the cultures were equal, you would have expected over 10,000 Nobel Prizes to have been awarded to Muslims.
This is a total refutation of their culture and ideology, and the sooner they realize this and advance from the 6th to the 21st century, the better for everyone.

Nice to see such lovely Frenchmen are thinking of us all the time, even when just riding the bus...

Meanwhile according to Wikileaked American diplomatic cables, the most Islamic community in Europe is Leicester in central England.

The cable says, among other observations, Pandith was shocked to find "girls as young as four years old were completely covered." The document continues: "At a local book store, texts… seemed designed to segregate Muslims from their wider community, urging women to cover themselves and remain in their homes, playing up the differences between Islam and other religions, seeking to isolate Muslims from community, and feeding hate of Jews to the young."

...

After World War II, the British government encouraged immigration to the country to alleviate an economic crisis, and that trend accelerated dramatically in recent years due to left-wing immigration policies seeking to foster multiculturalism. A new study by the think-tank Migration Watch UK shows that during the thirteen years that the last Labour government was in power (1997-2010), immigrants arrived in Britain at a rate of almost one a minute.

...

The most influential Muslim in Leicester is Shaykh Abu Yusuf Riyadh-ul-Haq, a hard-line Muslim cleric who runs the Al Kawthar Academy, an Islamic school in the city. Ul-Haq, 40, is also the leader of a new generation of "home-grown" British Islamists who loathe Western values, support armed jihad and preach contempt for Christians, Jews and Hindus.

Ul-Haq, who preaches in mosques across Britain, outlaws television and music, and says football is "a cancer that has infected our youth." He is appalled by young women who want to get educated and go to university. He regularly praises the work of the Taliban and their attacks against British troops in Afghanistan.

In a typical sermon entitled "Imitating the Disbelievers," ul-Haq warns British Muslims of the danger of being corrupted by the "evil influence" of Western culture. He also heaps scorn on Muslims who say they are "proud to be British," and argues that friendship with a Christian or a Jew makes "a mockery of Allah's religion." Ul-Haq sermons are broadcast on Radio Ramadhan Leicester in Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Somali, Arabic and English.

Other Islamic separatists have been linked to the University of Leicester, according to the recent report, "Radical Islam on UK Campuses."

In 2002, British police initiated a crackdown on supporters of Osama bin Laden's terror network in Leicester. A police swoop on predominantly Muslim areas of the city led to the arrest of eight Islamic jihadists, who were accused of belonging to al-Qaeda and conspiring to raise money to fund terrorism.

Meanwhile, Leicester has the fourth-highest rate of unemployment in Britain. The city also has very high rates of illiteracy, and ranks as one of the worst five municipalities in England for education.

An April 2010 survey titled "Muslims in Leicester" says that Muslims in the city are especially prone to underachievement and unemployment. The report says the inner city Spinney Hills neighbourhood, which has the highest percentage of Muslims in the city, is also the ward with the lowest rate of full-time employment, the highest rate of unemployment, the highest level of economic inactivity, the highest percentage of "no qualifications" for work and the highest level of social housing.

Muslims are now demanding political power within the Leicester city council, as well as the freedom to wear their religious dress at work and to have halal food in the city hospitals. They are also seeking their own faith-based schools.

One such school, the Leicester Islamic Academy -- where female students wear the full-length dress and head-covering and the boys wear black robes and skullcaps -- has been accused by the British government of promoting Islamic separatism. Another state-run Islamic school in Leicester, the Madani High School, has run afoul of government regulators for reneging on its promise that 10% of its pupils would be non-Muslim. A government official has warned that Britain is "sleepwalking to segregation." He said: "Segregation is now so extreme in some schools that there is not much farther it can go. It does not help to prepare children in these schools for the real world."

The British government has tried -- unsuccessfully -- to reverse the tide of Islamic separatism in Leicester. In June 2008, for example, the city hosted the first in a series of road shows designed to tackle the problem of honour-based violence. Leicester has been plagued by forced marriages, kidnappings, physical and mental abuse of women, and other honour-based violence crimes against those who have not, according to family and local community members, conformed to religious or cultural expectations.

It sounds like Wilders has been reading Hugh's posts at New English Review. I can only hope that more anti-sharia political leaders will follow suit.

BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!

I wish so much to have been in this audience.

Just brilliant! I am sharing this on my FB page everyday for the next month.

I had a brief encounter, in Seattle, yesterday, with two men visiting from Amsterdam. I was quickly reminded that Europe is as "liberal"-infested as the U.S., unfortunately to the detriment of our uphill battle for freedom.

I asked them what they think of the charges against Geert Wilders. They were both of the opinion that Wilders is irresponsible in his statements against Islam, and that he has made some terrible, bigoted remarks against Islam. That while they are for "freedom of speech", such "such terrible, incendiary comments and agenda are an abuse of freedom-of-speech".

I didn't have time to challenge them, or even to ask for examples of this "terrible bigotry".

But I was disappointed to be reminded of just how widespread this type of mindset is in the West and how difficult it is to bring about awareness of the threat & dangers of Islam.

Amen dude.

And to Katherina, the Churchill analogy is absolutely appropriate.

Khushi, you said:
"May more and more Geert Wilders arise in Europe.
And he is right, the first thing to preserve is freedom of speech. If anti-islam speech is outlawed then the war will be lost."

Free speech is our fire alarm. Disable it and the house that is Western civilization will burn down.

But about needing more Geert Wilders:
The Germans are a very dynamic, rational, and martial people. Yet they are handcuffed by a certain lobby (industry) that constantly dredges up Naziism; they have been psychologically immobilized to our very great detriment. The 21st century has enough existential challenges without resort to the 20th century. If I can forgive, and my family suffered greatly, the rest of you should do the same. Forget about interfaith outreach---it is intercultural outreach that we need.

Excellent, excellent speech by the stalwart Geert Wilders.

From his speech:

Our opponents are hoping for an event that is akin to the freezing of the Rhine in 406, when thousands of immigrants will be given an easy opportunity to cross massively into the West.
.............................

I fear this event may already have occurred. Glenn Beck has referred to the uprising in Tunisia as a possible "Archduke Ferdinand" moment—the assassination of Austrian Archduke Ferdinand by a Serbian anarchist eventually led to the carnage of WWI, although the significance of the event was not foreseen by most people at the time.

The uprisings across so much of Dar-al-Islam may lead not only to increased Shari'ah across the Muslim world—and perhaps even a Caliphate of some sort—but have also led to throngs of Muslim "refugees" heading for Europe.

The Italian island of Lampedusa has been absolutely swamped by Muslim "refugees" from the Mahgreb. In just a few weeks, they have *outstripped the local population of the island*.

And it's not over yet...

An astute analysis, Doom-and-gloom. No matter how much the modern Western Left pays lip service to democracy, it is the antithesis of democracy it really wants. Democracy allows for significant disagreement. The Left is not interested in this. What it wants is its own opinions confirmed as axioms. When this doesn't happen, the Left goes into hysterics and begins ad hominem attacks followed by hate speech codes, self-pity and other nonsense along these lines. All of this approach is duplicated by Muslims, for they also do not want freedom but their own take on things confirmed by the masses. And, of course, when they don't get their way, it's hissy-fit time all over again. Instructive how much the modern Left and Islam have in common, especially their loathing and fear of liberty.

Hi, Angel Espinosa, I am from Holland too and about those 2 men, well, most of the time I am very respectful to people who think different, but I despise what they said.

I encounter people who want to censor perceived insults to Islam and the feelings of Muslims all the time here. Warning that making Muslims angry might make them estrange from us, and join the radicals.

I think that is nonsens. In politics, media and everyday life the Dutch never minced words for opponents. VVD-leader Bolkestein used to say that "Democracy is not for the faint-hearted." I assure you that Christians and all sorts of groups have often been and still are grievously insulted, taking and giving insults all the time. But the Muslims and their defenders want people to make an exception for Islam and "poor Muslims" and their Holy Prophet. But even Jesus is a word often used in a derogatory way here.

And oh, Wilders has proposed a tax on "head-rags" (yes he said it very scathingly) and many denounce him still for that. He is indeed very harsh on Muslims and very controversial, people often either hate him or love him. And he is being prosecuted for hate-speech and discrimination. But so far a conviction seems unlikely.

BTW. In Holland your use of the word "Liberal" would be very confusing. Here the people of the VVD (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy), the ally of the Freedom Party, are called the Liberals. But they have always been considered sort of right-wing-to-center-party. They were/ are often seen as the "party for the rich", the free market and the sworn opponents of the Leftist parties.

And while the Leftist parties almost always tend to support or excuse the Muslims in everything it is the VVD that for many years was the most critical about them. Geert Wilders was MP for the VVD, but he was thrown out when he became even more of a critic of Islam than the VVD. About membership of the EU for Turkey among other issues. Then he founded the Freedom Party and that became Hollands 3rd largest party, after VVD and Labour, in last parliament-elections.

Perhaps the term Leftists would convey better in Holland what you intend to say.

"a certain lobby (industry) that constantly dredges up Naziism"

A certain lobby, eh? An industry. Evil greedy people who are heavily sinning against the Germans by exploiting their ancient misfurtune to create a lucrative "industry".

I'm dreaming of a day when Israel could free itself from all dependence on Europe, in both export and import, so I can just laugh at all the Eurocrap - and by that word I mean the "opinions", not the people - whether the anti-Israel type, or your type or the rest of the types. Just disarm the Euros from their weapons against us - develop other markets in spite of the Muslim boycott, create a common military industry with other countries completely independent of European elements, create scientific and technological collaborations with others, so the Euros could not have any such crucial effect on our lives anymore by their threats of boycotts and embargos, so their "opinions" will not matter anymore. Then I won't have to litsen to or read any of the Eurocrap anymore, and won't have to feel anymore either fear or anger and contempt when I do, but just look at the pathetic continent indifferently or with amusement like a visitor to the zoo.

And do yourself a favor and don't bring up Norman Finkelstein of which you're probably an avid fan.

There's a historic parallel to the multi-culturalism.

The UK residential tower blocks (US readers: think high-rise housing projects) erected in the 1960s and 1970s were another attempt at social engineering. Architects, following the lead of Le Corbusier, sold the concept to politicians of the time.

Tower blocks were to include features that would "foster desired forms of resident interaction", "encourage harmonious and vibrant communities", and "inspire residents".

The reality? These 'Multi Dwelling Units' are an insecure communal environment where residents are living in fear and oppression.

Architects don't live in them.

At least there has been an answer - the wrecking ball.

Hey D&g - Lighten up. The epithet "Nazi" is often used here in the U.S. to condemn and silence any expression of good old American patriotism in the arena of public opinion. You can't say anything in the U.S. showing pride in American culture and traditions without being labelled "a nazi". It has a chilling effect on free speech and rational thought. It started back in the 1950s in some of the major U.S. Universities, notably Yale and Harvard for starters. The establishment squelched and defunded all curriculum in studies in history of ideas in Western civilization, along with pro-American studies. They defunded and shut down entire departments in academia. Then we had the 1960s and 70s, which was a continuation of the same policy expanded into the political arena. And so on. Anti-nationalism in the U.S. is potentially just as harmful and retrograde as was the ultra-nationalism of the 1930s in Germany. If a healthy and genuine well-informed nationalism is not allowed in the US, nor in Europe, what about in Israel? Will it be allowable to the Israelis? Yes, I know there is too much anti-Israel feelings out there. But the national culture and integrity of every nation-state has been under attack, (since the 1950s). Israel is not the only victim of anti-zionism. Anti-Zionism appears in other forms as in anti-Americanism, and it is promoted by the same shadowy political entities.

Katharina, I believe Kafir4life just omitted the "sarcasm" tag. I believe his reference to the astute Winston Churchill as an "Islamophobe" was meant tongue firmly in cheek—meant to indicate how the "politically correct" would characterize him.

"We must stop immigration from Islamic countries, we must expel criminal immigrants, we must forbid the construction of new mosques."

I can't help thinking that this won't be sufficient.

Wilders is the Thomas Paine of oue current War for Human Liberty.

May his courageous and refreshing lucidity inspire ten thousand and hundred thousand and ten million and a hundred million to stand strong against the regressive tide of Islamic intolerance and malignant misogyny and terroristic imperialism spreading in the name of Mohammadism's deified Irrationalism.

Nothing good comes from a deathcult but its end.

Athens, Rome, Jerusalem.

Athens: city of unsurpassed genius and miraculous victories. Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Thucydides, Aeschylus, Sophocles, Themistocles, Miltiades, Iktinos, Callicrates, Phidias. Etc.

Rome: the first international civilization based on secular law, law relatively distinct from divine commandment. The engineering, the aqueducts, the roads, the adaptation of the arch and concrete, the Pantheon.

Jerusalem: culture of the "I Am." The rise of a sense of linear as opposed to cyclical, mythical time. Historical awareness and individualized time consciousness. God as the "I Am." Humanity made in the "I Am's" image, sons and daughters of the "I Am." Blessed to imitate the "I Am's" creativity at the beginning of the world: "Be fruitful and multiply." Moral and ethical intensity. Incarnation of the "I Am" into humankind. Birth of the individual and the individualized, with divine sanction. Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, to God what is God's. Love as primary, precisely because love comes from the innermost core of a person and thus cannot be compelled. Love's primacy leads over the long run to a culture of liberty. Love your enemy. Love God with all your heart and all your mind and all your strength. Love your neighbor as yourself. The pre-Judaic sense of time, as something almost like a closed circle, by definition precluded progress, to some extent, whereas the open-ended, linear time consciousness developed by the ancient Jews and later spread by the Christians made various kinds of progress increasingly conceivable.

As Wilders said, these three main tributaries, Athens, Rome, Jerusalem, which come together as the West, generally accept Logos, reason. According to the John Gospel, Jesus and his Father are the Logos. By contrast, the Islamic Allah is will, above all. As pure will, Allah obeys only himself, and does not obey any laws, including moral laws or laws of reason, which in fact don't even exist apart from Allah's absolute will, which can make them be whatever he wishes from one moment to the next. For Islam, good has no independent, consistent character. Whatever Allah says is good, that is what's good, even if human moral sensibilities are shocked, even if the good has become, "fight those who do not believe" (Qur'an 9:29). Because Allah is will above all, the prime virtue in relation to him is submission. Social orders based on Islam's Allah are based on submission to authority, not questioning. In the West, by contrast, God is conceived as Logos. God is not an absolute despot arbitrarily defining what goodness is, and having the right and the power to utterly change the definition from one moment to the next. Does that mean the Judeo-Christian God is "chained," as Muslim theologians have sometimes said? Assuming for the moment that God exists, why would he be "chained" by not being able to be bad? Taking goodness as a specific, consistent quality and not something changed from moment to moment by a divine dictator, why would God be chained by "having" to be good? What if for God, to be able to be good is to be able to be himself? Then goodness having a consistent character of its own would not bind God's hands, but precisely the opposite. If God's nature is goodness, then for him to be good would be for him to be free to be himself.

"And do yourself a favor and don't bring up Norman Finkelstein of which you're probably an avid fan."

I don't know who this man is. In any case, I prefer to do my own thinking. I see that I touched a raw nerve. I also have a raw nerve when I hear about the other many millions of victims of Naziism referred to simply as "others" not worthy of a few syllables more. Your masada complex is off-putting.

We are at war and I want to have as many assets available as can be mustered.

If you have seen any of my other posts, you will know that I have been one of the staunchest supporters of Israel to the point of bending my sense of natural justice. Your emotionalism precludes rational discussion and, quite frankly, reminds me of the enemy that we face.

You never know, maybe we can hoist a beer at a stammtisch one day.

It's dismaying that such wisdom and eloquence does not have more impact.

What does that got to do with anything I wrote?

Pokermutt suggests here and suggested before that we must never bring up Nazism because it hinders Europe's and particularly Germany's ability to develop the attitude needed to defend itself from Islam. I don't mind the suggestion, but this time he complains about "a certain lobby (industry) that constantly dredges up Naziism". What is he talking about? Of course, a "Jewish lobby" that he accuses of turning the Holocaust into an industry. This accusation usually comes from neo-Nazi quarters, aided by the Jewish (accident of birth) Norman Finkelstein.

I just can't take Europe anymore. It's like an abusive relationship where the abusive party will always accuse the abused party of abuse. Like in many abusive relationships it finally leads to murder, but still the poor Euros are our victims since we cause them psychological damage by mentioning it, which of course we do out of nefarious cynical motivations since we are evil and greedy (we turned it into an "industry"). And not only this causes psychological damage to the Germans, but because of us and our "industry" the entire West is in mortal danger:

"The Germans are a very dynamic, rational, and martial people. Yet they are handcuffed by a certain lobby (industry) that constantly dredges up Naziism; they have been psychologically immobilized to our very great detriment."

And it's all our fault! Because we're evil and greedy people who cynically exploit this ancient little mishap and because of this crime, our crime, the entire West will be lost.

Of course, the Holocaust is a great influence on the European post war mindset that led into all of that, though not a singular influence since there were also two devastating world wars, and there were racism and colonialism which are not only brought up more often than Nazism, but were actually made the dogmas and foundations of neo-Marxism and its analysis and criticism of not only European behavior, but of Western behavior in general, and this is the dominant paradigm on the left. But even if Nazism was really the most dominant part in it, it's not our fault that Nazism happened and it's up to the Euros to process this past in a constructive manner, rather than self destruct on one hand, and on the other hand to accuse Israel of all the Eueropean historical "sins" - racism, imperialism-colonialism, apartheid and genocide - to make themselves feel better. Or to hold the Jews responsible for the psychological damage caused to the Germans by the memory of Nazism.

Even as someone who today hates Europe because Europe hates me, I can still easily mount a defence of Europe, so certainly they can do it, but they need to stop living in fantasy and start to seriously confront all these questions about their past, why it happened and if they have a right to live and preserve their cultures and national identities in spite of their "sins". Of course they have a right! But they need to come to this conclusion themselves, not by denial, nor by continuing to look at reality through this twisted lense of projections. They need to stop with this unrealistic split of human psychology into angel and devil, where you can only be either a devil that has no right to exist, or an angel that has no chance to exit in the human world that isn't made of angels and devils, but of complex human beings, and where Europe's historical sins are by no means unique to Europeans, but are part of human nature since time immemorial.

I don't think the peoples of Europe will have much problem with it. The problems are in the elites and their response to the great European crises of the 20th century. But their response is not inevitable, there can be other far more positive responses.

Anyway, it's not up to me to cure the European pathologies. It's up to the Europeans. I'm sick and tired of the European pathologies by now.

As for the Jews, I think the Jews will have to break with Europe for good, even though too many Jews really love Europe. If you go around the Internet you'll find Jews are accused of anything from the Armenian genocide to "stealing white genes" through selective marriage in order to turn ourselves into a "superior race". The latter is so typically European, though it might have originally been made by an American, of European descent - the claim to racial superiority combined with the envy and threat of Jewish success that challenges this notion of racial superiority and therefore can only be explained by a nefarious Jewish conspiracy to become racially superior by stealing the European racial superiority. Of course, these things exist these days only in the fringes, but blood libels against Israel and the convinction that Israel is the only state in the world that has no right to exist are already mainstream. And this is not criticism. Criticizing Israeli policies is legitimate, but lying about Israeli policies, actions, motivations, and history, as well as lying about our enemies' policies, actions, motivations, and history isn't criticism, but a strategy to demonize and delegitimize Israel to push a certain political agenda or to destroy Israel all together.

And as much as it may surprise pokermutt, this apparently immortal irrational hatred causes more psychological damage to the Jews than to the Euros since the abused partner internalizes the message of the abusive partner. In every abusive relationship the abused partner is never an angel, no human is an angel, but this is used by the abusive partner to justify the abuse, so the abusive partner inflates the faults of the abused partner totally out of proportions, invents new faults, and denies the virtues. The abusive partner needs to justify his violent outbursts, his beatings and the murderous rage he so often feels, so he needs the abused partner to appear as the cause, he needs to believe the abused partner is so evil as to justify his murderous rage, he needs to believe it's the actions of the abused partner that cause the violence, that the abuse is only a justified reaction to the evil of the abused and not a result of his own pathology.

The abused partner, naturally, asks himself why the abusive partner hates him so much and what can he do to alleviate the rage and pacify the abuser, so he starts looking for the faults inside himself and self fllaglate for any wrongdoing. And since the abuser has such an enormously long list of complaints and accusations against the abused, and he incessantly repeats them, and paints a totally negative picture of the abused with no shades of light whatsoever, at some point the abused starts suspecting himself of having all these faults and committing all these crimes. That leads to self hatred and a mutilated self perception.

The only solution is to break up with the bully and see him for what he is - a bully driven by his own pathology and not just reacting to your faults and actions. Liberate oneself psychologically, and as much as possible also physically, to save yourself. So IMO the Jews will have to break from Europe to survive and also go through a psychological examination of the pathologies we developed as a result of this abusive relationship.

And if the way I describe the European treatment of the Jews sounds eerily similar to the way the Muslims treat their victims it's because there are similarities.

To Doom-and gloom. Please don't reply to my last post. I handled you with kid gloves and offered you an olive branch. You have resorted to ad hominem attack and now I am done with you.

((((("Perhaps the term Leftists would convey better in Holland what you intend to say.")))))

The term, Leftists, works here as well. Many far leftists here identify themselves as Liberals. Yet most of them are anything but liberal in the true sense of the word... they're selectively liberal, at best. Hence my use of quotation marks when I refer to such "liberals".

I didn't realize that "liberal" has another meaning in Holland.

I've only read a few of Wilders' speeches and interviews, and have watched a couple interviews. Personally, I haven't heard any of his "scathing" remarks. I've only heard/seen very reasonable concerns expressed, as I've heard from many of our good freedom-fighters.

Thank you for the information.

YOU are off-putting.

The reason the Holocaust is mentioned separately from the tens of millions casualties of war is because the Jews weren't casualties of war, but of a systematic capmaign to wipe out an entire "race" believed to be inherently inferior and evil off the face of the earth.

"If you have seen any of my other posts, you will know that I have been one of the staunchest supporters of Israel to the point of bending my sense of natural justice."

Bulshit. Our true supporters don't feel they need to bend their "sense of natural justice" to support us. I immediately caught it the last time you said it, so I'm not surprised that you accuse us of manufacturing a "Holocaust industry".

"We are at war and I want to have as many assets available as can be mustered."

Yes, we are at war. Israel is on the frontline and might be the first to fall, yet EUROPE supports the jihad against Israel and is becoming increasingly antisemitic as well. Why?

The reason I hate Europe is what Europe is doing now and not what it did in the past. And I recognize both the left and people like you are an enemy as fierce as the Muslims, even if for now there's a temporary mutual necessity for uniting against a common enemy. But in the end, if we survive this, we will have to break from you for both our sakes, and seek friendlier and healthier allainces elsewhere because Europe will never change.

I answered you before I saw your last post, so feel free to ignore it, and I'll be happy if we'll never exchange another word. But if you're going to refer to a "lobby" or "industry" or anything of that nature again I will respond because we're not alone in the room. And I will put all I feel into it because I'm sick and tired of the attacks from Europe.

Katharina: I think kafer4life was simply quoting the whole text from Churchill’s book that Wilders cited, without intending to denigrate Wilders or anyone else who fears and despises Islam. Anyway, anyone who values his freedom and understands Islam and its agenda should be an Islamaphobe. I’m an Islamaphobe, and damned proud of it. You may also call me an ideological “bigot,” because I oppose not only Islam, which is a totalitarian ideology masquerading as a “religion,” but the nihilistic, totalitarian domestic agenda of President Obama to destroy the U.S. Obama has been waging his own “jihad” against freedom in this country with his legislative policies, and wishes also to see it defenseless against its enemies, which include Saudi Arabia, Iran, Putin’s Russia, Chavez in Venezuela, and Red China, and half a dozen smaller fry.

You may be sure that when Sharia law takes over any Western country, its first victims will be the multiculturalists who made the conquest possible. They will be beheaded, eliminated, or censored. Then will come the putative “reformers” of Islam, who claimed that Islam could be pacified and rendered harmless, ignorant of the fact that Islam can no more be made “pacific” than Nazism could be rendered more “humane.” Then the Islamic thought police will come after anyone who ever criticized, repudiated, or mocked Islam. In the U.S., the DHS will do that dirty work for the Islamists, at the behest of the Muslim Brotherhood and the very real Islamic lobby in Washington.

Traditionalists and conservatives always give the left the benefit of the doubt regarding the real intent of multiculturalism. Without actually saying it, I believe that Geert Wilders has "said it". He makes it obvious that no one could be so stupid as to not be purposeful as to where they are going with multiculturalism.

Most people do not want to be cynical, so they go along with all the left's feeble excuses for promoting multiculturism. The reality is that all of this long term effort by the left could be no accident, as Gert Wilders clearly details. The weakness that the left successfully exploits in our Judeo-Christian society is the general lack of interest in faith in our Judeo-Christian God. If people "believed" as they did 70 years ago, they would react more aggressively to incursions by Islam and the left. A lack of faith in God is by no means something that can be consciously changed or criticized, it just is what is. We are all part of this condition to one extent or another.

I believe we have a major case in point with the Libyan war. Obama, who is a creature of the far left with all far left advisors, decided to take out Gadaffi for aparently no vital reason. The replacement for Gaddafi now is being reported to be Al Qaeda along with related organizations and Obama will claim that he tried to help "democracy". He will be given cover in that decision by non-thinking giants such as Sen. McCain and Bill O'Reilly, who would obviously not otherwise agree to ditch Judeo-Christian cultural by replacing a currently "benign" Islam with a more virulent Islam. In the end, it is likely that Obama will succeed in replacing Gaddafi with Sharia compliant dictators just like was accomplished in Egypt (and Iran, many years ago). This will be a major win for the left in their struggle against the Judeo-Christian culture. THIS is the left's vital reason for replacing Gaddafi and assisting in the replacements in Egypt (and Iran). This is all not just an accident and we need to be more cynical about the true motives of the far left. We are probably witnessing a real worldly value in Faith in the Master.

"You have resorted to ad hominem attack and now I am done with you."

Actually, he presented perfectly reasonable arguments which you could attempt to refute point by point ... but that's too scary for you, eh? It's much easier to bury your head in the stand and claim a personal attack than to engage someone with reason, after all. How very Islamic of you... You should look up what is meant by the term 'ad hominem.' It doesn't mean what you seem to think it does. You shouldn't get on such a high horse if you're so thin-skinned; poor little guy, your feelings got hurt ... awww does wittle pokermutt need a hug? What's next, are you going to call everyone who disagrees with you a Pokermuttophobe?

I don't think that multiculturalism has failed any more than you would say that society has failed if there was one sociopath that doesn't want to join in.

Protestants, Catholics, Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Taoists, Wiccans, followers of Native American religions, and many others can and do live together.

It is only Islam that says that the others must be subjugated or killed.

That is indeed interesting to read, but I have to say that I would probably do the same if asked in the same context. The fact is that as a business person you almost naturally try to avoid political or social controversy or issues which could hamper economic transactions you don't try and extend your neck and speak out to support one or the other political faction or policy in fear that it will act as a boomerang. For business people profit is the main motive not democracy, not human rights or anything else.
Geert Wilders positions endanger the possibility of making profits while doing business with majority Muslim nations.
Exports to Islamic countries is a multi billion dollar business in the Netherlands but also in other Western European countries.Saudi Arabia having 300 fighter jets is thanks in no small part to Britain who sold them Eurofighter Typhoon jets. This kind of financial transaction is highly profitable and so resistance from sections of the business world to Geert Wilders is certainly assured.I also have to add though, that in the USA this is even more pronounced, no corporate media showed the Muhammad cartoons for example the censoring of the Southpark episode featuring Muhammad by Comedy Central is also an example of this.So not only do we fight a liberal leftist elite who hold vast to cultural relativism we also face a business class that under no circumstances wishes to offend Muslims and so hurt their own wallets.

And yet again CNN has a headline feature story about how the poor widdle mooslums feel "alienated" in their own land because of the "climate of suspicion". Which, if true, means that at least some Americans are waking up and casting ever more suspicious eyes on these "hard-working" folks who somehow never, ever, have a word to say in defense of our country, but plenty to spare when it comes to whining about "Islamophobia".

We need the equivalent of a Geert Wilders as our presidential candidate in 2012, but do we have anyone of that caliber with even a chance of being nominated? Apparently most of them are waiting around to see what Sarah Palin will do before they even declare their candidacy. This does not bode well.

Would it be "Obamaphobic" to suggest that he's doing what he's doing in Libya because he wants al Qaeda to win?

Hi demsci,
I have a friend in Holland (professor in the University of Leiden) and when I tried to discuss Geert Wilders with him, I got pretty much the same response as angel espinosa. That was very sad. I'm afraid there's not enough people in Holland understanding the danger of islamization yet.

I don't think he's controversial. The measures he proposes - ban on immigration from Muslim countries, ban on construction of new mosques, closing islamic schools - are just the minimum minimorum the West must do to stop its own destruction. Tax on "head-rags" is harsh? Compared to what, actually? How about killing Theo van Gog for making a documentary about the life of women in Muslim world? Being afraid of making Muslims angry - well, they always get angry when you don't bend to their demands. In every debate with Muslims I watched, they became very agressive and tried to shout down the opponent when cornered by solid arguments. If the current trend persists - I mean, unless European "aboriginals" take a harsh and uncompromising approach right now - we'll have to either submit to islamization or to face civil wars in the future.

I wish UK had a political leader like him. Unfortunately currently the only voices of reason in England are those of Melany Phillips and Douglas Murray (who are not politicians). Murray's latest teardown of Mr Ramadan was an absolute delight, take a look:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMfcL0_njRU

You mean "Unwelcome: the Muslims next door"? I wanted to find out when they will be airing that, so I typed the name in Search-option on CNN webpage, and the first in the SPONSORED LINKS (!) category, right on the top of the page, was "How to Covert to Islam": www.islamreligion.com. Symbolic, isn't it? (the link didn't work, though. But still)

the penalty for Europe not listening to Wilders now will be a ghastly bloodletting in the future. The only question will be, when. This will be what the diversity-mongers and multiculturalists have wrought. The Serbs showed us what will happened only next time, squared.

The banner of multiculturalism has been used to define the reason for the immigration of Islamic peoples and therefore multiculturism has failed. Islam has not changed in 1400 years and Muslims would say that Islam has overwhelmingly succeeded.

Michael, you said:
"Actually, he presented perfectly reasonable arguments which you could attempt to refute point by point ..."

I said, in part:
"If you have seen any of my other posts, you will know that I have been one of the staunchest supporters of Israel to the point of bending my sense of natural justice."

Am I to bring up the case of Pals who have deeds and keys to properties in Israel that they fled out of fear way back when? What would I say to the Pal over beer and mint tea? Should I rip up his deed and clunk him over the head with a beer bottle? How will I defend the right of someone from New York City to live in Israel rather than someone whose roots are more recent? This is what I mean by bending.

I do not support the right of return for Pals as it would lead to the end of Israel. But I pay a price in diminishing my integrity.

A point by point rebuttal? I cannot type that fast and I have taken my measure of the man. The best would be to agree to disagree and try to rise above tribalism.

I have been called a neo-nazi and received a veiled threat. I have expressed my opinion and instead of education I have been chosen for vilification.

If a 230 pounder is little you are watching too many reality shows.

P.S. Michael:
You have now exceeded D and G in ad hominem attack.

"Christianity, and nothing else, is the ultimate foundation of liberty, conscience, human rights, and democracy, the benchmarks of Western civilization. To this day, we have no other options [than Christianity]. We continue to nourish ourselves from this source. Everything else is postmodern chatter.” Europe may be confronting the dilemmas of a truly multifaith society, but with Christianity poised for a comeback, it is hardly on the verge of becoming an Islamic colony." The problem is when will the people of Europe and US return to The Church- The people of The Byzantine Empire waited until it was to late-now it is Istanbul not Constantinople-If anyone thinks that the same fate cannot befall on Europoe and US they are Crazy!

Europe's Christian roots and foundation are being replaced by "modern Enlightenment philosophy" says the Pope. Such philosophies recognize only what can be mathematically or scientifically proven, and deny any metaphysical reality. Unable to recognize God's existence or objective truth, morality is consequently reduced to a relative concept, leading to a "confused ideology of freedom that leads to dogmatism" and ultimately "to the self-destruction of freedom," says Pope Benedict. He cited the growing intolerance of the criticism of homosexuality as an example of this phenomenon.

What the Pope offers as an answer to the nihilistic secularism that pervades Europe, and the West, is not politics, but a spiritual renewal based on the powerful example in history of St. Benedict and the amazing cultural impact the Benedictine Order had on a similarly declining Europe in the Middle Ages. Beginning in the 6th century, Benedictine monasteries and spirituality saved Western Europe from a descent into barbarism after the fall of the Roman Empire and subsequently became the continent's main instrument of learning, literature and cultural revival.

I like the cut of your jib. Neo? Neo what? I am a neo-crusader.

((((((("but I have to say that I would probably do the same if asked in the same context. The fact is that as a business person you almost naturally try to avoid political or social controversy..."))))))

If you'd been asked in what "same context"? I haven't even shared "context" (nor setting/envrionment, for that matter).

Thanks for the intro to *Business Etiquette 101* but I'm well aware of proper conduct, and the need to just-zip-it when political/social topics may arise. The rules-of-etiquette apply regardless of which side, of a controversial issue, a person may sit.

I don't know whether the two men are "business men" (as you assumed) or not. But I do know this: Neither man was the slightest bit concerned with how their condemnation of the oh-so-controversial Mr. Wilders, might be received by me.

I don't know what-the-heck you're going on about. My only point was that their views are much too common among the "liberals", "leftists", "leftist elites", whatdafawkevers... and that this type of widespread mindset is what keeps us constantly rowing-against-the-tide.

((((((("I have a friend in Holland (professor in the University of Leiden) and when I tried to discuss Geert Wilders with him, I got pretty much the same response as angel espinosa. My sentiments, exactly. Actually, I'm afraid too many people, all over the Western world, fail to see the dangers and the harsh realities of Islamization in our own back yards. Its quite disheartening at times.

We must get more people to open their eyes. We must.

Yes, thanks for clarifying. My family came from India (we are hindus) over 40 years ago. Of course there were some issues with integration, etc. but hindus in general don't try to blow up the TTC, the parliament buildings and forcibly convert everyone to hinduism. I am sick and tired of people tarring us with the same brush that muslims shoud be only tarred with. Remember that hindus and other groups HAVE SUFFERED under muslims. Islam is incompatible with multiculturalism and democracy but uses them to establish shariah and a muslim-dominated state.

Chris,
Yes and no. It depends on which meaning of multiculturalism one is referring to. I often argue that instead of attacking multiculturalism as though it were all bad, we who are critical of Islam should instead be pointing out that Islam will destroy multiculturalism. That would be a way to get more allies from the left. Left and right need to unite on these issues.

Nevertheless, conservatives are right that there is a meaning of multiculturalism that has failed. That is the aspect of multiculturalism that promotes absolute relativism, and that refuses to make value judgments as to whether a free society is better than a totalitarian one. One used to see that in relation to communism. Too many on the left insisted there wasn't really much difference between living under communism and living in the free world. They would put free world in quotations. The multiculturalist notion that Western culture is no better than any other, and probably worse, has indeed failed. But the part of multiculturalism that is simply what conservatives would call pluralism, that continues to flourish.

I agree with you, I sense you were appalled by the assessment of Geert Wilders of these 2 men and the professor in Leiden Nina mentioned and the wide spread of these stupid or ignorant attitudes and I am too, as far as I am not already used to it.

You know, this attitude is also wide spread + deeply ingrained inside the 2 biggest Christian-Democratic parties as it is in Labor. But not so much in the "Liberale" VVD.

Perhaps many Dutch people do know, as I do, the English meaning of the word "Liberals". But the Dutch word "Liberalen" as the VVD-members call themselves emphasizes more their preference for the free market, the freedom of individuals, small government, less taxes.

And "Liberale" and "Linkse" (Leftist) politicians are almost forever in fierce opposition to each other. Although from 1994 until 2002 they governed together in a "Purple" combination, of the Blue of the "Liberalen" and the Red of the Social-Democrats.

Oh, and I know what Geert Wilders says well and he does not mince words and he can be pretty harsh, to Muslims and opposition politicians. But what he GETS is on average much worse and I don't blame him for his toughness, I rather admire him for it.

Thank you for your very interesting response. and for that link, and you gave another one on another thread too, about Douglas Murray. Those youtube-video's were great!!! What a man!!!

So many people in Holland do not see the danger of Islamization. So many Dutch already get angry and close their minds when one even suggests what INTENTIONS a part of the Muslims might have. And they even object strongly against asking them about their intentions!

So many Dutch find it self-evident that Geert Wilders is extreme-right, racist, not respectable and oh yes, INSULTING to Muslims, intent on Discrimination of them. Many are not ashamed to vilify him when in front of Dutch Muslims or on TV, and many sort of apologise for him being also Dutch. That's what I meant with him being controversial. I find this wide spread attitude really Appalling.

But in the run-up to the elections of 2010 the prime minister, Balkenende, also was showing this appalling attitude, concluding that his Chr.Dem.party (CDA) had no basis of cooperation with the Freedom Party.

And what happened was that CDA lost historically and Freedom Party and it's ally the VVD won historically, while Labour and the Left sort of stabilized. Many analysed the landslide from CDA to PVV-VVD, but I believe the analysis that pointed to the anti-Wilders-attitude of Balkenende as a cause to a large extent. And it served him right! (Although in many respects he had been an honest and good prime minister, he just had no clue about how to react adequately to the Islamization IMO).

Come to think of Wilders, and considering this thread is about him, I like to tell you some reactions to him.

His words are often twisted by those who describe him. Like when people say that "He blames everything on Islam", which is nonsense.

Countless times now I have heard that Wilders sort of "sets apart, insults and sidelines" "an entire community". Which he is supposed to "painting with a broad brush". Which to me is blatant nonsense, completely ignoring the responsibilities of the members of that community. And completely ignoring Wilders' often stated adage that he is against Islam, not Muslims. Against the sin, not the sinner, so to speak.

Wilders is vilified for being a prime cause for some kind of "poisoned atmosphere" and estrangement of poor Muslims who according to many Dutch understandably are being pushed into isolation by him & his followers.

Of course many won't even consider that Islam is anything but some mysterious and therefore untouchable "religion" and many seem to consider membership of it as some kind of race.

Bitter it is to me that often Wilders is painted as anti-"allochtonen" (all immigrants from non-western countries), so not only against Muslims but also against black people, from the Caribbean and Cabo Verde etc. At least some of these people seem to think that he is.

His words and intentions so often get twisted and vilified. And yet, he keeps gaining in elections.

Traeh, excellent post on "Athens, Rome, Jerusalem".

I would only like to add: the scholarship and moral sense of Jerusalem; the philosophy, theoretical science and great art of Athens; and the politic theory and applied science of Rome; also form the basis of the modern, free West.

Between them, they lay the basis for everything in the West that Islam would tear down and destroy.

I was wondering where he'd gone to... thanks.

gravenimage, your addition is nicely synoptic.

More.

Perception is everything.

There's a story in a little book on art by Ben Shahn ("The Shape of Content") that goes:

"...my father used to tell of a traveler in 13th century France who met three men [pushing] wheelbarrows. He asked in what work they were engaged and he received from them the following three answers:

The first said:

"I toil from sun-up to sundown and all I [get] for my pains is a few francs a day."

The second said:

"I am glad enough to wheel this...barrow for I have been out of work for many months and I have a family to support."

The third said:

"I am building Chartres Cathedral."

We, too, need to understand what work we are engaged in.

Simply spreading info?

Only opposing violent jihad?

Or preserving Western Civilization?

The positive goal triumphs."

"Or preserving Western Civilization? The positive goal triumphs."

Well spoken, DDA. I. We encounter a threat, a process, initiated by an ideology which appals, starts us thinking and speaking out against it.

But when we stay in that stage, knowing full well what we are AGAINST, we end up forming pictures in our head about that, and that is then accompanied with emotion. And quite a few psychologists, filosophes and many writers, like the one of "The Secret" have said that that tends to "energize" and "help" the very thing a person hates/ loathes. Somehow. While the Muslims clearly do seem to have a positive goal for them; the expansion of Islam worldwide.

If this were true then it would be very important for Anti-Islam-Pro Democracy-people to realize and formulate what they are FOR and tell the world that to preserve and promote that it is that they are anti-Islam. Which threathens and blocks the positive formulated goal.

Going on from there and put the Muslims into the position that they are AGAINST the expansion of our civilization and Democracy.

For this it is also important for us to understand what it is what we will do when we have success! What then will we be thinking about, what will our next positive goal be? What will our next common enemy be?

A good candidate might be organised crime, an enemy we could then fight together with apostasized or democratized Muslims. And of course in favor of other positive goals, not just against crime.

"Why does a country like the Netherlands have to contribute six F16 fighter jets to enforce the arms embargo in Libya, while Saudi Arabia does not contribute a single plane from its fleet of nearly 300 fighter jets?"

If you follow StrategyPage.com, you will see that the incompetence of the Arab militaries is one of the region's top secrets. Arab militaries do not want to go into action and let the rest of the world see how poorly they perform.

After I read the comments here by those who are from Holland I felt relieved and grieved at the same time. Relived to know that there were others who had actually noticed how unapprecative they are of him in his own country, and grieved because they do feel that way. I know that's the way it is, and I have been trying to talk about it on the different blogs I use, but a lot of commenters don't seem to know what I am talking about. It's true that they have a nasty attittude about him in Holland --what a fickle bunch of dumbies. I attribute a lot of that to the media also, who just bash him something awful ! They think of him as a bigot and always use the words "far-right" when talking about him. He needs some possitive publicity. Two years ago his affairs made an inpact around the world, and there was praise and admiration everywhere. They made some pretty intense videos as a tribute to him. What has happened to the Dutch ? Do they forget already ? It's heartbreaking. Does he have to be killed before they show their appreciation--the way it was with Pim Fortuyn ? There is really no one else like him- idiots !

"As for the Jews, I think the Jews will have to break with Europe for good"

I think it's high time Israel stopped tolerating the intolerant and letting themselves be the Arab's punching bag.

It's high time Israel started taking some lebensraum from some surrounding Arab countries to give themselves a buffer zone against violence.

"We need the equivalent of a Geert Wilders as our presidential candidate in 2012, but do we have anyone of that caliber with even a chance of being nominated?"

John Bolton and Sarah Palin are probably best, but among those who actually have a chance of winning, Newt Gingrich has a degree of Islam awareness, and Mitt Romney's endorsement on the dust jacket of Dr. Walid Phares' 2010 book, "The Coming Revolution: Struggle for Freedom in the Middle East" (timely considering today's headlines) says:

"Walid Phares has been a pioneering scholar in raising awareness in the free world about the relentless threat of global Jihadism."

Dr. Phares also thanks Mitt Romney in the introduction to the book.

The Discovery Channel has an outstanding Egyptology series: Pharaohs in thriving cultures, great dynasties, Pyramids, architecture, etc. for 1000s of years, B.C. Egypt was a great civilization, as were many nations throughout the Middle East. However, as the Great Winston Churchill recognized (see quote above), ever since Mohammad-ism took over the land and people, its culture has had little progress from the 7th century, A.D. because this ”religionism“ crushed all creativity and individualism.
Today, most of the populations are living at poverty levels and would be starving if it weren't for their one natural resource, oil, which is controlled by oligarchy who keep the people poor and uneducated by exploiting Islamic dogma. Perhaps the current rebellions will bring about cultural revolution. Only time will tell.

I like your comments regarding Christianity. What would today's world be like if Christianity either did not exist or if Emperor Constantine had not followed his vision and accepted Christ?

You mean, you are insinuating that the wonderful anti-Fascists who brought us the German Democratic Republic, People's Democratic Republic of Korea, and Democratic Republic of Viet Nam LIED? Are you insinuating that participatory democracry HAS NOT been implemented in Sunny CUBA, or that People's China doesn't truly belong to the Chinese People?

Actually, I appreciate your insight greatly.

Maybe the roots of this sort of thing go all the way back to Plato, who would've put us all under a special class of political guardians.

There is no killing of Apostates in the Quran, and the Quran is clear. Islam is based on the Quran and anything outside of the Quran is highly questionable. Islam means submission [to God] derived from the Quran.

2:256 "..No compulsion in religion, the truth stands out clear from error..

4:137 "Those who believed then rejected then believed again then rejected again and then increased their rejection, God would not forgive them nor guide them to a path."

5:54 "Oh you who believe, whoever turns back from his religion, God will bring up people whom He loves and whom they love Him...

10:99 " If Your Lord had wished, all the people on earth would have believed. Would you (Mohamad) force people so that they become believers?

2:217 "..and those who turn back from their religion and die rejecters, their deeds will be depressed in this life and in the last life and they belong to the hell fire eternally.

60.8 God does not forbid you from being just and kind to those (idolators) who did not fight you for your religion or drive you out from your homes. For God loves those who are just.

2.62 Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

22:17 Those who believed and the Jews and the Christians and the Sabians and the Magians and the Polytheists God will judge between them in the day of Judgement, for God is a witness over everything." Quran 22:17

5.69 Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabians and the Christians whoever believes in God and the last day and does good-- they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve

2.190 And fight in the way of God with those who fight with you, and do not start the agression surely God does not love those who start the agression.

8.61 And if they incline to peace, then incline to it and trust in God; surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
