Iranian official: Soon all Middle East oil will be cut off to the West

On the oil subject, it makes you wonder why the Manhattan Project for Energy Independence, supported for years by Robert and Hugh, has never really been a priority (or a concern, however small, at all) on any American administration's agenda... Is it just because big oil has the politicians in its pockets? That might have been it until Buraq Hussein took office. Since January 2009, however, keeping infidel cash flowing to mahoundian lands (as aid or payment for the product of an accident of geology), so that those inbred bedouin savages never have to learn what an honest day of work means must have been added to the list of reasons.

Well, I suspect that the day of reckoning for suck recklessness and suicidal behavior on the part of the West's leaders is coming. I just hope that, until then, a wave of islamo-awareness and -realism will finally have woken up a majority of those among us to what we're up against.

In a better world, there would be a two-pronged approach to defending national security against jihadist terrorism -- two things our government is not doing right now. One, of course, would be to stop formulating policies based on wishful thinking about Islamic "moderation" and address jihadist violence forthrightly as part of Islam.

The other would be an all-out push for energy independence through public policy, individual choices, research, and development.

Imagine the idiotic compromises we'd no longer have to dream of making if our "frenemies" in the Mideast could not blackmail us with oil.

That means, of course, that they will do all they can to make sure that none of these "liberated" countries become actual Jeffersonian democracies. Not that that should be all that difficult...

The two oil price hikes in the 1970s did a lot of damage to Western economies, but we coped. But no oil at all would close down our industrial capacity to almost zero. The result of that would be hugely damaging to Islamic countries, too.

However, Islam's DNA has suicide hard-wired, be it literal or in terms of their economies.

The West should face this threat head on. We should call in the ambassadors of the Islamic world and inform them in no uncertain terms that if they try to cut off supplies of oil, we'll come and take it and dictate a royalty payment for every barrel.

It's as simple as that!
(And to those about to post a 'what about the Russians' message, we could cut a deal with them. No problem.)

Buy oil from Canada, Alaska, Russia and Mexico. Not from countries that sponsor terror. There is just as much oil in the Athabasca Tar Sands in Alberta Canada. Only problem is it costs more to extract. But it's ok. Help boost Alberta's economy. Buy our oil!

this guy Naqdi is one of the most hated figures in Iran. if it was not for the oil money, these douch bags would not exist for a minute. in fact, I was the president, I wouls ask the country not use any oil for weeks and let the oil prices drop to 10 a barral and see how fast those a holes will chanfe their tunes.

Should the U.S. attack any of the (liberated) countries, it will suffer a blow at the hand of all the nations of Islam.

I do so hope that we do attack a Muslim country, any one will do, and then lets see what the Islamic world can do.

I honestly wish they would. Within 2-3 months, we would have a vastly different (but better) society:

1. Many people would work at home, which would cut a large chunk of pointless commuting costs (this would also cut costs of auto insurance and road repair, and cause much less air pollution and fewer accidents)
2. Various ass clowns driving SUVs and pickups would start finding intelligent alternatives or even (horrors!) public transportation and ride-sharing
3. Sales on electric cars would increase
4. Massive shifts towards more coal and nuclear energy would occur, only with energy research
5. People would walk, bike, and use public transportation more, and get off their fat, lazy, asses; this would mean weight loss and lower healthcare expenses.
6. Less money leaving the USA
7. Less money going to Iran, Chavez, Libya, etc.

And so on.

So, the end result would be some change (gasp!) that would lead to people being smarter and healthier.

But the best part is we could finally ignore the Saudis and the rest of the dying Islamic world, and let them sink into the trash bin of history.

I really believe that if it EVER gets even remotely close to such a situation, the US and Europe will attack Iran. All the fancy notions about peace, diplomacy, democracy and equal rights to all and a world full of rainbows and other delusions, disappear when it actually comes to their own economy and survival.

They really are into cutting their noses to spite their faces, aren't they?

Oil exporters, mostly from the Middle East, hold over $212 billion in U.S. government debt. If they make a concerted effort to embargo oil, then we should make a pro forma declaration of war and repudiate that debt. Screw us, eh? You'll see what happens if you swap to the Iranians and become a vassal state.

The idea won't affect those bent on our destruction, but it should give pause to those who want to be "good" Muslims and who still wish to enjoy the fruits of the West.

What are they short of in the ME? Food.

I hate to say it, but because of some research, I have brought this up recently some ... the rate of change of oil consumption in China will be such that its consumption will exceed the US and after that, the west as a whole.

Who will the ME sell to? I will bet they are hedging there bets on China. They know they have something valuable and they know that China is experiencing their industrial revolution, they know the rate at which oil consumption is increasing.

We have enough oil to keep us going, that is known oil reserves, and untapped fields, not oil that if we looked for, we may and will find.

So again, tap every drop of oil we know about, every drop of oil we have ownership of, every drop of our assets in black gold should be under tap,ready to flow at a moments notice. This can be done-NOW! Get ready-now!

Nothing wrong with finding other sources of energy , or the use of known tech of Solar, Wind, GeoTherm, Hydro, Fuel-Cells, Coal, Wave, Hydrogen, Methane, etc.

Lack of action is the issue, or lack of clear thinking. Oil is going to be needed for the future, as well as the present, anything that raises the cost of its use is NOT the answer, more supply is the answer.

If the cost of gas goes above $4.00 nationwide and stays there, another depression will likely follow.

U.S. space ships use rocket fuel for lift-off, but they are solar powered otherwise. One of the very first automobile engines was designed to be steam-powered. We have had many innovations shelved and shoved out. We have the technology to be independent from oil, but the oil industry and it's Barons are not yet ready to give up all that profit.
