Yet another reminder of why it is perfectly reasonable to subject Islamic groups and individual Muslims in the U.S. to reasonable scrutiny within the bounds of the law.
"US charges Pakistani with illegal nuclear exports," from Reuters, March 10 (thanks to Mehreen):
WASHINGTON: A Pakistani national has been arrested and charged with a scheme to illegally export nuclear-related materials to his home country from the United States, the US Justice Department said on Wednesday.Nadeem Akhtar, 45, who lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, a Washington suburb, was indicted for conspiring with others to illegally export restricted goods and technology to a Pakistani nuclear power plant and a Pakistani research commission....
Akhtar, who owns a company called Computer Communication USA, was specifically accused of illegally exporting radiation detection devices, resins for coolant water purification, calibration and switching equipment, and surface refinishing abrasives. All of those items require an export license because they can be used in activities related to nuclear reactors and the processing and production of nuclear material, the Justice Department said.
The indictment alleged that Akhtar attempted to conceal the ultimate end use of the items and their true value by putting misleading or incomplete information on documents such as invoices and purchase orders....
Will someone please, please tell me why we have Pakistani nationals, living in the United States on permanent visa with export licenses?
There need to be more people like the young man who turned in the jihadists who had their film developed at the chain store. Being innocent of the danger to himself, he turned them in.
Think how many manufacturers and wholesalers of this equipment hear "Nadeem Akhtar," exporting to Pakistan, who just take the order and never think anything of it.
"Next!"
And...is there some reason this is not considered sedition?
If Pakistan already has nuclear capabilities, why would they want smuggled U.S. parts and equipment? What kind of propaganda campaign could be made from those parts and equipment? Something to be found at the scene of some jihad crime? Are they already running off of massive stockpiles of smuggled U.S. supplies? Perhaps an inventory of all parts should be done and the results made public.
Of course, perhaps the parts are needed in Pakistan's sharing of nuclear capabilities with Islamic partners. If one member of the global jihad has nuclear capabilities/weapons, they all do.

Drop him inside the critical mass Japanese nuke reactor site.
