Military strikes begin against Libya

The beneficiary will be the pro-Sharia Islamic supremacist forces in Libya and elsewhere. "Military action launched against Libya," from CBS, March 19 (thanks to Mackie):

French fighter jets soared over a rebel-held city besieged by Muammar Qaddafi's troops on Saturday, the first mission for an international military force launched in support of the 5-week-old uprising against the Libyan leader's rule.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy said after an emergency summit in Paris that French jets were already targeting Qaddafi's forces. The 22 participants in Saturday's summit "agreed to put in place all the means necessary, in particular military" to make Qaddafi respect a U.N. Security Council resolution Thursday demanding a cease-fire, Sarkozy said.

Qaddafi had tried to take advantage of the time lag between the U.N. resolution and the launch of the international operation, making a decisive strike on the Benghazi, Libya's second-largest city and the first major stronghold of the rebellion.

Crashing shells shook buildings, and the sounds of battle drew closer to the city center as its residents despaired. A doctor said 27 bodies were brought to the hospital by midday. By late in the day, warplanes could be heard overhead.....

Exactly. Whenever I see these gloomy, Allahu-Akbar-yelling males from various tribes (all that unites them: they are pissed because Qaddafi`s tribe rules over them and not vice versa), producing the usual islamic blunder (firing in the air, posing with an assortment of various weapons from machetes over axes to AK-47s), howling, waving arms, shouting, you name it, I wish they'd keep on infighting indefinitely.

Libyan democrates:

It would be much better to put a no-fly zone and a no-camel janjaweed zone in southern Sudan. I would have no moral qualms about protecting a new, Christian-dominant nation.

This no-fly zone in Libya and the "unknown" nature of the devolutionaries, seems like nothing more than an opportunity for Sarkozy and Cameron to flex some muscle and curry favour with their domestic muslim colonizers. It will all backfire IMO.

The above photo is fascinating.
He holds a cigarette: cool dude?
He shows a v-sign: is that victory or peace? (I'm being generous here).
But in his belt an axe! Does he intend to chop down the cedars of Lebanon? Or does he have something else in mind? (what's left of his mind)
And around his shoulders a shotgun.
Wow! He must be about to attend a wedding: Something old something new something borrowed, even blue smoke!

Libya is an Aliens vs Predator conflict. Contemplating it reduces to deciding which of these two entities is the greater immediate threat. Of course, by default this decides who the adversary will be in the future. Think Hitler vs Stalin in 1939. FWIW, the U.S. is smart to stay out of direct military engagement at this time. There will be plenty of time for that later.

Besides, this gives France some badly needed exercise time with their aircraft carrier.

To me, he looks as if he's about to execute a pas de seul.

Great photo! Where/when is it from?

Further to my post and in support of the English poster whose website article I read and fully concur with.
From Sarkozy, Cameron, and Obama.
"Libyans, we will get you the no-fly zone and a ceasefire. Trust us and please do not leave your beloved Libya. To show our commitment to you, brave Libyans, we are instituting a no-boat zone beyond 12 miles of your coasts."

Don't spend another US dollar on Libya or risk American lives. If the oil companies want a crack at Libya, let them hire foreign mercenaries and use their money, not the money and blood of Americans. Sickening.

http://whyyouexist.blogspot.com

It was in a "Der Spiegel" picture gallery about a week ago, when this leftist German publication went all gung ho about "The Victory of the Libyan People" and their supposed desire for democracy.

@gerard: Good observation. This guy can also just hop in any movie from "Lawrence of Arabia" to "Sinbad the Sailor".

I could not find the original post about Cameron being sure to lose "The International Dhimmi Of The Year Award" over the olympic zionist logo as posted by another JWer on the 2012 Olympic logo thread. However, this intervention could get him back on the nominee list, although he would be up against tough competition in Sarkozy and Obama.

From your post:

"Libyans, we will get you the no-fly zone and a ceasefire. Trust us and please do not leave your beloved Libya. To show our commitment to you, brave Libyans, we are instituting a no-boat zone beyond 12 miles of your coasts."

We have a deal! :-)

Look what ist just now flooding the EU day after day after day from mohammedan Tunisia (most of them), Libya, Morocco:

http://www.spiegel.de/images/image-180920-galleryV9-oeed.jpg

All these agressive, testosteron laden males come to the tiny Italian island of Lampedusa half way between the African coast and Sicily, waiting to be shipped right to the mainland, were they will miraculously disappear and flood into every and any European country. FRONTX, the European Border-Protection-Agency, is helpless: Due to political correctness, they can not robustly defend our Borders.

Lampedusa:
Native population: 5000. Newly arrived Mohammedans: 3500. Housing capability for illegal aliens: 850. The desperate natives today tried to keep the Italien Coast Guard from docking at the pier, as they once again came loaded with Mohammedans they picked up from their "sinking" vessels.

Background: There is a European Directive that each person rescued from a sinking vessel has to be brought to European shores. Guess what happened after word of mouth spread this useful information like a wildfire? Any Mohammedan loaded arch seeing a Western vessel busily sinks itself.

ark - not arch. Sorry.

"This guy can also just hop in any movie from "Lawrence of Arabia" to 'Sinbad the Sailor'..."

...or an Indiana Jones movie.

"Besides, this gives France some badly needed exercise time with their aircraft carrier."

And maybe some practice making precision air-strikes for when the time comes to deal with their own Z.U.S.

For all of the humanitarian rhetoric being promulgated I see the same pattern here as that which preceded the invasion of Iraq: military intervention with little to no knowledge of the population on the ground, and little desire to find out.

Has anyone bothered to identify who these "rebels" are? These strange "democratic rebels"? These "peaceful reformers" who have somehow managed to arm themselves with all the panoply of war, including a fighter jet?

Has anyone bothered to ask who has armed these people? And why?

How is it that barely a month after praising Ghaddaffi as a reformer on Human rights and as a staunch European ally, the giants of Europe have turned against this man?

Why did China, Russia, and Germany abstain from the U.N. resolution authorizing the imposition of air offensives?

What oil deal went sour here?

What happens when French or American planes are shot down? Or if Ghaddaffi is killed?

Who will be responsible for the state of Libya in the aftermath?

What is our strategic interest in attacking Libya? Can anyone tell me this?

Banner headline flashing: U.S. LAUNCHES MISSILE STRIKES AGAINST LIBYA

Submarine Tomahawk-Attack - 112 Missiles - wiping out Libyan Air-Defense/Air-Sea-Missiles/Early-Warning-System at the coast. Mission Odyssey Dawn.

And so another stupidity of the well meaning but clueless West (while the nominally involved - and permanently praised - Arabs are laughing their collective ass off and still do nothing) begins ...

I hate to say it:

The West = Odi (well meaning but stupid)
Mohammedans = Garfield (smartly pulling strings)

I wish it were the other way round.

I should imagine the Brazilians are not very happy with Obama for launching a war from within Brazil while he is their guest. His visit, which was scheduled before Libya flared up, was a big deal in Brazil, and they are surely disappointed at having it spoiled in this way.

buraq_is_dead:
Right on, spot on brother. I hadn't heard about the stinking and sinking ship tactic before. There is an epic tragedy unfolding in Europe before our very eyes.

buraq_is_dead:
It should be, "stinking sinking ship tactic".
We need less carrot and more stick.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; it is all about control and not about Ghaddaffi. Does the leadership of the so called "West"(sic)think normal thinking people have marrow-bones as thinking apparatus like themselves - no sir, we can still do 2+2=4; you, however: #@=1+&6 = Wait for it = OIL, and as someone remarked: Young American lives will pay the price!

Reply to Spot On: From my point of view, the strategic worth of bombing Libya has been decided by the liberals of the world who believe that the rebels will form a democracy in Libya as soon as Qaddafi is eliminated. Personally, I believe the rebels will form an Islamic dictatorship similar to the one in Saudi Arabia. Why can’t liberals understand that democracy and Islam cannot co-exist?

I agree with your concern about supporting the rebels in Libya. In fact, MSNBC reporter Richard Engel reporting from Tobruk was asked by Rachel Maddow what he found to be the prevailing sentiment among the rebels for opposing Qaddafi. Engel reported astoundingly (or perhaps not!) that about twenty percent were in favor of overthrowing Qaddafi because they thought he was Jewish! He also mentioned that Eastern Libya was a hot bed of Al Qaeda -- which Qaddafi also claimed, incidentally.

Meanwhile, Yemen is blowing up and were it not for our preoccupation with Libya (which can probably be laid at the feet of Hillary Clinton, meaning Bill, still trying to expiate for not stopping the genocide in Rwanda even though the situation in Libya could not be more different than Rwanda) no doubt we'd find reason to contemplate intervening there, as well. For humanitarian reasons, you understand.

This whole foray into Libya stinks. I don't see any way it will end well.

(I have to justify my watching Rachel Maddow. I was getting ready to change the channel when, much to my amazement, she launched into an effort to do the impossible - showing the many ways in which Obama's war is different from Bush's war. I just had to stick around to watch that.)
