OIC to convey strong condemnation of Qur'an-burning to UN Secretary General, demand UN action against free speech

Pakistan's ambassador to the UN condemned "this reprehensible act" as "the work of extremists." He didn't mean, of course, any of the recent jihad attacks or plots. What he had in mind was the burning of the Qur'an in Florida, which, as you can see in this story, the OIC is exploiting to renew its jihad against the freedom of speech in the West. The OIC is bent on compelling Western states to criminalize criticism of Islam, which will criminalize any honest examination of the ways in which jihadists use the texts and teachings of Islam to recruit for jihad among peaceful Muslims, thus preempting the formulation of any effective strategy to counter that use.

"OIC to ‘send’ strong condemnation," from the Daily Mail (Pakistan), March 27:

NEW YORK – Reposing complete confidence in Ambassador Abdullah Hussain Haroon, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, the OIC decided that the Ambassador of Pakistan along with Ambassadors of Tajiskistan (OIC chair), Morocco (OIC Coordinator for Human Rights), Iran and Egypt would meet with the UN Secretary General to convey OIC’s strong condemnation and ask him to take the lead towards promoting inter-faith harmony.

It was decided in OIC ambassadorial meeting which convened here the other day to discuss the recent desecration of the Holy Quran in Florida last week.

The meeting approved the proposals of Ambassador Haroon and his Iranian counterpart that OIC Chair and Observer Mission will draft a strong condemnatory letter on behalf of OIC with the assistance of Pakistan and Morocco to be sent to the UN Secretary General, President UN General Assembly, High Commissioner for Human Rights (HCHR) with the request to circulate it as an official document....

Reiterating the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari's clear expression of sentiments of the people and extreme provocation and seriousness of the issue, and his call to the United Nations to take immediate action on the subject, Ambassador Haroon the first Speaker from the member states voiced strong condemnation of this sacrilegious act.

He assured that Pakistan would continue playing its active and constructive role in promoting inter-faith harmony and peaceful co-existence.

On March 22, Ambassador Haroon had written a letter to the UN Secretary General, where he drawn UN attention towards this despicable act of desecration of the Holy Quran by Wayne Sapp and Terry Jones in Florida.

He voiced Pakistan's profound regret and deep concern at the increasing acts of "Islamophobia and growing trend of intolerance and hatred towards Muslims as well as insults to their religious symbols and personalities".

The letter further said, "While this reprehensible act is the work of extremists and is evidently designed to provoke dissent and discord among communities and peoples across the world, such sacrilegious acts also go against the very concept of inter-faith harmony and threaten the multicultural fabric of the societies and the brotherhood of the United Nations".

The Ambassador urged the United Nations to play its important role in ensuring peace and harmony among peoples of the world. He said Pakistan has full confidence in the UN's leadership and hoped that it would take all steps to fight such tendencies and promote intercultural and inter-faith harmony that is basic to coexistence of mankind.

Recalling Pakistan’s initiative on Interfaith Dialogue and participation in the Alliance of Civilization, Ambassador Haroon stated that Pakistan has always stood for promoting peace and harmony among people and nations of the world.

He regretted that while OIC has always supported peace initiatives in all regions of the world including tolerant and constructive engagement during last year’s Islamophobic incidents i.e. threats to burn the Quran and opposition to construction of Islamic Center in New York, attacks on Islam, its symbols and holy personalities continue unabated.

The Ambassador proposed that the OIC group should write a letter to the UN Secretary General (UNSG) asking him to issue a strong condemnatory statement and take concrete action to protect multiculturalism and promote peace and harmony in the world....

This article invokes the weird image of a Trojan Horse being pushed into town in recognition of the greatness of Judeo-Christian civilization... but the horse is made of transparent glass and the several hundred bearded skill ca- wearing dudes stuffed inside are staring out, barely trying to conceal themselves and what they're up to.

If this isn't the pot calling he kettle black, I don't know what is. Where is most of the religious intolerance found?
Answer: Muslim countries.

Non-democratic countries like Islamic states should be banned from UN. The we would have a UN that might mean something.

Then we would have a UN that might mean something.

"Pakistan has always stood for promoting peace and harmony among people and nations of the world."
I've run out of sick-bags.

So now we know what is a very important part of their strategy to conquer by stealth: "UN Secretary General (UNSG) asking him to issue a strong condemnatory statement and take concrete action to protect multiculturalism and promote peace and harmony in the world...."

First, they (islam, collectively-ha) are stinging because of the repudiation of multiculturism in France, Germany and UK, by their respective heads. Multiculturism leads to a host of grand opportunities for them, so they can burrow in and take over quietly, to impose sharia, etc. eventually. So since it is such a really useful tool of fools, they really want to prevent pre-emptively the loss of it!

Second, promoting so called "peace and harmony" is that famous fact of so called "peace and harmony" after everyone is islam, and under the totalitarian thumb of the sword, which is, as we all know a pure crock! There never has been any "peace and harmony" in islam, nor could ever be. Even if islam were the exact opposite of all the total evil that it is, and were a truly good and peaceful ideology (can you even imagine such a concept), doing wonderful good all over the world, making the world peaceful and happy, just as in mythical Shangri-La, there would be dissenters, as were so in Shangri-La, destabilizing the system!

Hell, there was that one gray haired old woman dedicated peacenik dissenter that voted against the declaration of war, the day after Pearl Harbor, in spite of executed clear and present reality, and an otherwise unanimous vote of Congress! (Can you imagine the enormity of that act of that woman?)

That is freedom of speech, however stupid, crazy, indefensible, or brilliant!

Beyond that, the UN seems to be a general waste of money and time, a great idea, but virtually totally unworkable, as structured.

Forgot to add following at the end,

Beyond that, the UN seems to be a general waste of money and time (except for the benefit of being a propaganda machine for the non-democratic or totalitarian dictatorships), a great idea, but virtually totally unworkable, as structured.

>"Ambassador Haroon stated that Pakistan has always stood for promoting peace and harmony among people and nations of the world."

Apparently, Pakistani ambassador doesn't know what goes on inside his own country where Hindus and other non-Muslim minorities are brutalized, murdered, kidnapped, raped, converted ... on a regular daily basis for last 60 years!!! For him to come out and make this blatant lie claim is so sickening. But then Muslims are like that - always lying, nothing new here.

Someone should be pushing for Condemnation each time there is an incident of Anti Semitism, especially in the Muslim world.

The next time Ahmenidijad opens his big fat mouth to declare that Israel will be wiped from the Middle East, there should be condemnation. If the OIC won't recognize Israel's right to exist, there should be condemnation. We need to push this because it will expose this resolution for what it is, Islam's attempt to silence opposition with Blasphemy laws through the UN.

You know how the Islamic Jihadists are subverting our very laws and ideas of multiculturalism to advance their cause? Why are we not doing the same to push back? The very laws they wrote and championed to advance their cause can be used AGAINST them. It will only work if we have a coordinated effort to do so.

Was it a real koran, in the original arabic? The mohammedans are always telling us that only the arabic version is the real thing, and can't be properly translated. I suspect the Florida book was in English, so their complaint is obviously spurious.

And who was the owner of the book that was burnt? If the book belonged to Mr Jones, then he was entitled to do whatever he wanted with it. Who are they to tell me (or anyone else in the civilized West) what I should or should not do with my own property?

The sheer barefaced hypocrisy of this demand takes my breath away. It is also, as has already been pointed out, sickening.

All of the civilized Western members of the UN should submit similar complaints with regard to every mohammedan atrocity that takes place during the next week. Just that single week. The UN will then grind to a halt, completely snowed under with paperwork.

Poxistan, land of the pure, is barf-inducing in its hubris. It is an inferiority complex carried to dangerous dimensions.

"He assured that Pakistan would continue playing its active and constructive role in promoting inter-faith harmony and peaceful co-existence."

We have but to look inside Pakistan's borders to see sterling examples of Muslim inter-faith harmony and co-existence...and it is ugly...

On another note, I had a pretty sweet day when I walked into work. About 5 or 10 minutes into my shift I noticed a customer in line with a shirt that said "Infidel" with arabic word below it. I went up and asked the guy if he was an infidel, he said "Damn right". I said "so am I" and shook his hand. He and his girlfriend were smiling as they left the store. It was nice to see another anti-jihadist out there and not afraid to show it.

Which gives me an idea. Jihadwatch, Atlasshrugs, Citizen Warrior and many other anti-jihad websites should all band together in an effort to sell shirts with "Infidel" or some other anti-jihad message. Maybe have Infidel on the front with the site name on the back. Sell the shirts and donate any profits to either a charity of choice or as a fundraiser for a particular anti-jihad organization. Decide upon a particular day, lets say 6 months from now so our goal would be to sell as many shirts before that date. On the day decided, EVERYONE would wear their Infidel (or anti-jihad) shirt. Kind of like a Flash mob idea. The goal is two-fold, spread the message to non-muslims who don't know about Islam and to see how many others out there are aware.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that one of my supervisors understands the dangers of Islam and Jihad, even if it didn't really know that much about the Quran and Islam itself. Seeing the shirt in the store sparked a discussion amongst the employees and customers in the store, to positive effect.

Ambassador Haroon the first Speaker from the member states voiced strong condemnation of this sacrilegious act.

Well, it would be sacrilegious if the Quran were sacred...
But unfortunately for submitters it is not...They can put their fingers in their ears, stomp their feet and scream bloody murder that it is, but that does not make it so...
It is not the Quran they want protected, but their opinion of it...Mahoundians are the most selfish, egotistical people on the planet...A pious Mahoundians prime personal goal is to get into Allah's Paradise, where riches await them...And they don't mind killing you to do it...They might even prefer it...they get extra points from Allah for killing kufr...
The Quran is not sacred, it is insanity...How can a religion that causes psychotic episodes in it's believers, be sacred?

If this burning so annoys them that they feel "compelled" to bring this to the highest levels of the UN, you know what that means?

Let the burnings begin!

Worldwide. Rattle their Islamic cages; annoy their acute sensibilities over pieces of paper. Bring on the battle b/w the values of the Enlightenment versus the dark beliefs of the 7th century.

Lets force the world to pick sides.

Is this speech to be 'silenced' by the OIC at UN?

* Who wrote Quran"?

* Is the Qu'ran the Word of God?

* The Qu'ran decoded

* Believe in Quran without debating?

* Bible vastly superior to Koran

* What is Truth: Bible vs Koran?

* The True Origins of Allah

* The Clash of Prophets ... etc.

These are the things the OIC would like to silence, legitimate and reasonable dialogue that questions the validity of Islam's exclusivity, examines its mythology roots, Muhammad's unilateral claims to 'prohethood' and his world supremacist aspirations. They should encourage these 'interfaith' dialogues, not silence them. If the muftis want to protect Multiculturalism and "promote peace", they should be on the side of Freedom of Speech, not silencing it. Islam is on the wrong side of the debate... once again.

Christians are burned alive in Pakistan. Christian Churches and homes were recently burned by muslims in Ethiopia a country where 70% of the people are Christian. Yet muslims whine about the burning of one privately owned koran.Terry Jones can do whatever he wants with his koran.I see desperation here from muslims as threats and intimidation even from President Obama didn't stop Jones from burning a koran and broadcasting the "ceremony" on youtube. If Jones can burn a koran then anyone can. BTW- There have been several videos of koran burning on youtube.

yea. just look at how well the anti-blasphemy law is working in the Islamic paradise of Pakistan...

/sarc off

Who in the Muslim world protested against the burning of Salman Rushdie's book? I never heard or saw any Mohammedan condemn the despicable burning of this novel, a crime against the right to freedom of speech. In "The Satanic Verses" there is no hate speech, nobody says "kill the infidels wherever you find them". As long as they don't condemn the burning of other books, they have no right to whine about the burning of the unholy koran.

Inspiring. They just want Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Heretics.

indeed.

with all the jizra paid to them from western nations misnamed as "aid" they have plenty of time to persue heretics between sitting on their backsides and enjoying possessions like women and donkeys.

the rest of us have little time for such persuits working to pay tax to pay jizra...

Ambassador Abdullah Hussain Haroon and the OIC have north-central Florida conservative radio talk show hosts on their side, along with libertarian talk show host Neal Boortz and others. Florida talk radio was severe in its condemnations and denunciations of the Gainesville, Fla. pastor; at least those near the church at "ground zero." So was anti-Jihad activist Brigitte Gabriel outspoken in her condemnation of Jones. Haroon has allies on both sides of the political spectrum.

"..the recent desecration of the Holy Quran in Florida last week."
Here is what William Ewart Gladstone (1809–1898)had to say about this book:
"So long as there is this book there will be no peace in the world."
http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2010/05/accursed-book-le-livre-maudit.html

Ambassador 'Haroon'?. .whaat?. .as in 'Musa', 'Isa' etc? Go away. Please. Your 'book' is gobbledigook.

Pakistan's ambassador to the UN condemned "this reprehensible act" as "the work of extremists." He didn't mean, of course, any of the recent jihad attacks or plots. What he had in mind was the burning of the Qur'an in Florida...
..................................

Grotesque. As I have noted here many times before, I am not a big fan of book burning—it has troubling symbolism. Moreover, the vile Qu'ran would much better be read by every person in the West, so that they know what they are dealing with with Islam.

That being said, Pastor Terry Jones' actions were peaceful and legal. They were, moreover, the act of an individual, private citizen—*not* of a government.

Has the Untied Nations ever condemned the actions of a *private citizen* before? The specter of this is itself troubling.

More than this, though, is the obvious contrast. Terry Jones bar-b-qued a paperback book, harming no one, while Infidels—Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains, animists, agnostics, atheists, Baha'i, and minority-sect Muslims such as the Ahmadi—suffer the most horrific oppression and violence in Dar-al-Islam at the hands of Muslims on a daily basis, carried out by Muslim individuals, by Muslim mobs, and by Muslim governments.

No condemnation by the OIC here.

More:

..................................

*What gall*. The suffering of Infidels in Pakistan and at the hands of Pakistanis—Hindus, Sikhs, and especially Christians—is *horrific*. Even Jews have been targeted, although Pakistanis had to go all the way to Mumbai in India to find any.

Infidels have been attacked, kidnapped, raped, forced to convert to Islam, persecuted under the country's unjust "blasphemy laws", and murdered outright, often under the express auspices of the government. No condemnation here.

More:

The letter further said, "While this reprehensible act is the work of extremists and is evidently designed to provoke dissent and discord among communities and peoples across the world...
..................................

Absolute crap. While I believe Pastor Jones could have found a better way of expressing it, his act was intended to point up the intensely violent nature of the Qu'ran, and condemn that violence. He made a supremely valid point.

Recalling Pakistan’s initiative on Interfaith Dialogue and participation in the Alliance of Civilization, Ambassador Haroon stated that Pakistan has always stood for promoting peace and harmony among people and nations of the world.

"Peace initiatives" such as building a triumphant mosque right at the scene of Islam's most horrific Jihad attack of modern times. Nothing says "peace" quite like that...

Any condemnation of outright Muslim genocide against Infidels in Dar-al-Islam? No, I didn't think so...

Wri, I would love to see Infidel shirts everywhere, but I have to tell you that I retired 2 years ago and if I'd ever worn a top with that written on it at the bookstore chain where I worked they would have fired my infidel, um, donkey in a heartbeat. A lot of companies have rules against wearing "message" clothing to work. I wear the Westergaard "Mo Da Bomb" t-shirt to rallies, but I'm told it's unavailable now. Hoever, sites like cafepress and Bosch Fawstin's have lots of good anti-Islam slogan shirts.

Wildjew, they get into bed with the muslims on this because a) it's a "holy" book and b) "you don't burn books, that's what the Nazis did". B.S. to both. Free speech does not stop at somebody else's arbitrary designation of "holy", and Krayons are burned as a symbolic protest against the violence and intolerance advocated therein, not as an act of censorship. (I disagree with Gabriel on this although I support her organization.) If the O-Imam's administration continues to pander to muslim demands for incursions against freedom of speech, more demonstrations of freedom of speech will be necessary.

Perhaps it is not possible for the OIC's resoultion killing free speech to be applied here even under Obama. However, if it were to happen, would anyone really hesitate to burn a koran in protest?

Doesn't that very demand of the Pakistani's ambassador constitute "discrimination based on religious beliefs" condemned by the recent UN resolution? I think it does. If Muslims burn our Bibles, it's only just and fair for Christians to burn their Quran.

Abdullah Hussain Haroon, CEO of one of the largest state run slaughter-houses of the world, announced on a shareholder meeting: "We have always stood for promoting strict veganism and at the same time a more liberal vegetarian way of life."

He should be laughed out of each and any hall of western civilisation all the way back to his stone age failed state.

"...to issue a strong condemnatory statement and take concrete action to protect multiculturalism and promote peace and harmony in the world...."

What a laugh!

There is no "peace and harmony" with "multiculturalism" (Muslims).

What a total joke.

All the Muslims want is to gain power over us, whether by force or demographics, and then cut all our Infidel heads off. In the name of Allah, of course.

"Free speech does not stop at somebody else's arbitrary designation of "holy"

Brava, lilredbird. Exactly.

Burn whatever books you want, people.

If it is so touchy for Muslims, then indeed it could be considered as a regular peaceful protest.

Each time there was a reported clearly Islam-inspired crime, like the killing of the Fogels or the burning of churches, or some clear honour killing, or of course the burning/ shredding of Bibles by Iran/ Saudi Arabia let there somewhere a Quran burnt publicly! For a while that would be gratifying, comforting almost.

Of course this would also upset many totally innocent Muslims, I realize, but still, burning books is within freedom of speech, and it hurts no one, not physically.

And, if innocent moderate Muslims get hurt psychologically, they might consider that the causes of the Quran-burnings would be a stream of atrocities committed by their co-religionists. You know, the atrocities they almost never protest against, that almost never cause them to change sides in a way that would earn them the trust of citizens.

http://newstime.co.nz/anti-blasphemy-resolution.html
The world goes crazy!

Discrimination of the holy Quran,
the book of the religon of amputation
(5:33 + 5:38 cut off hands)

My standard refrain to anyone who asks me what I think about Koran burning is to reply that I am against burning books but that I am far more against killing people for burning books. Shuts up the PC/MC type and makes the individual who hasn't lost all common sense pause and reflect.

Burning the Qur'an?...hmmm....the Qur'an has never saved lives nor fed people...

When it comes to Islam, I am perfectly willing to throw the baby out with the bath water...

Is this just me, or does our enemy seem much more united today than ever before? Hell, they are even using the UN. They must be feeling pretty strong. We are getting CHANGE. We are also seeing a people united. The problem here is that I see our enemies being united, not us.

And please do not forget: Paksitan has nuclear weapons AND the delivery systems for them.

Do these actually believe the crap that comes out of their mouths? The hypocrisy of their statements is astounding...what's even more astounding is that people would actually listen or believe them.

Since that Start of he U.N. there have been about 160 Wars where they only Sanctioned 2 as part of ending the carnage and mass-slaughters of civilians and some unarmed Military personel.
One was the Korean Conflict that is only in a dead-lock with the Peace-Agreement but now N.Korean is a Nuclear Threat thatnks to the u.N., and the other War was Gulf-war 1 with Kuwait.
Hans Blix from the U.N. did not have the guts to rule-out the WMD's as a threat but also would not confirm they were a Threat(typicial U.N. double-speak to talk for 20 minutes and say noting) as he would neither deny they exists or confirm they weren't destroyed.
Hmmmmm,confused??.
So was GW , and then after the 16 Resolutions(from the U.N.) that Saddam laugh at , we had 9/11 that saw the potential for 30K+ civilians being slaughtered that day if the 26'000 had not fled the Towers after the 1st Plane hit along with other Building that were emptied out and the #93 flight taken down prior to the Jihad Mission being completed.

Hind Sight is great for the Michael Moore's of the World because they can just fit their Conspiracy around vague truths to fool the useful-idiots that worship him.
What would you have done when the U.N. itself didn't confirm the WMD's were destroyed?, then 19 Middle East Muslims (15 saudi Citizens from Palestine origin) try to slaughter civilians on US soil for the Freedom-Fighters in Gaza and Lebanon .

If Micheal Moore won't stand behind the U.S. troops that are defending HIS freedoms, then the least he can do is Stand infront of the Troops to slow down the bullets as they go through 3 feet of fat and his bulging Wallet filled with 50's from his Movie that mocks soldiers and appear Pro-hamas.

the 1st comment on this thread by the apf, seems as clear as daylight, as obvious as the law of gravity and i am shaking my head in disbelief wondering, are we (jw readers) the ONLY ONES to see the elephant in the room...has the rest of the population in the west finished drinking the last drop of koolaide???
..."They have mouths, but they cannot speak. They have eyes, but they cannot see."
are we but a voice in the desert???

Americans will defend the 1st with the 2nd. Both were bequeathed to us precisely for this reason, to fight the likes of the UN and OIC. Molon Labe.

Can I get an OO-RAH?

"Molon Labe"
could not agree with you more, mac. i have also been accused in the past of preaching to the choir...
they have been constantly and more and more defiantly, covertly at first, and now, very overt, in your face, type of hostile activities that as the apf has stated in his 9:11 am comment, they do not even bother to conceal it any more...
i might be in a bit of a blue mood but we are more and more like the frog that slowly and imperceptibly is being boiled to death...
we cannot bring back the past...but the simpleton from texas, rushing in front of the cameras on national tv, with a bunch of muslimes behind him, to assure us that 'islam is a religion of peace'... made an error of judgement (now **there's** an oxymoron...)of epic proportions.
two atomic bombs dropped on hiroshima and nagasaki led to ending the war...
WHY weren't a few dropped 'to clear things up'? with the serious declaration that there are more where those came from...???

so, mac...when you say molon labe...i am just wondering...is there still time left?

His Exalted Highmightiness the High Commissioner for Human Rights, when asked replied: "It's good to be High Commissioner for Human Rights". And the Emperor of Bactria nodded.

Tyranny=Liberty

If I burn a two-dimensional representation of the word Tyranny will the concept it represents vanish from human knowledge?
If I burn a two-dimensional representation of the word Liberty will the concept it represents vanish from human knowledge?

Burning either is a pointless exercise, if we accept the notion that burning the Koran is effective at extinguishing one species of tyranny then a psychedelic Tyrant who has embraced the Koran as his guide book might think that he can extinguish liberty by banning it. You can no more destroy liberty by banning it than you can tyranny.

Tyranny is timeless, and ever present (just as is Liberty, in perpetual tension).

One label for anti-tyrant/anti-tyranny might be: "Freedom Defenders"

It was the concept discussed in Federalist 47, which includes this passage:

"The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, selfappointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny."

Doesn't an Islamist view the absence of Islamic dictatorship as the very definition of tyranny? Dictatorship is defined as freedom. Reason itself must be extinguished for such an ideology to survive. Its followers -- but not necessarily its chieftains -- must be rendered mindless idiots by design.

Madison writes more about how to preserve "free government" in Federalist 48, which includes this passage:

"It will not be denied, that power is of an encroaching nature, and that it ought to be effectually restrained from passing the limits assigned to it."

Any overlay of Sharia -- being as inimical to freedom as it is -- on top of our laws or allowed to fester in parallel would dilute our carefully crafted free government. The Sharia/Islam/Muslim response to all the nuances found in Federalist 47 and 48 about how to structure power so as to preserve individual freedom (free government) would be to declare them (or even discussion of them) heretical to their favored scheme of Islamic dictatorship.

A free government is dependent on free thought.

Is there a formal Arabic translation of the Federalist Papers? (This looks like one automated Arabic translation.)

If we distributed millions of Arabic translations of the Federalist Papers, and the like, in Pakistan would that be any less objectionable to the OIC than labeling the Koran evil anywhere in the world?

I have a hard time taking these United Nations affairs seriously, When reading a report like this about the deliberations of the Organization of the Lilliputian Conference (OLC) I'm reminded of Lemuel Gulliver in the land of Lilliput laying down on the ground on his side so he can properly have audience with the emperor of Lilliput and his princely conferencees, so as to put himself on their level. (Gulliver's Travels; Jonathan Swift)

I am, on principle, against ANY and ALL book burnings. The Quran and hadith need to be studied so we can educate ourselves against their pernicious effects; BUT, what is it exactly about these a-holes that tempts me to chuck my copy of their blessed book on the briquettes next time I fire up my barbecue?

How about throwing it in the river? Using it for toilet paper? Pulping it? Burying it? Ripping it out page by page and papering the walls with it upside down? Lining the birdcage? Shredding it and using it packing material?

Burning a copy of the krayon that you legitimately own is an expression of protest of its content, no more, no less. There is nothing inherently evil about destroying one by fire if there is nothing inherently evil about destroying one any other way.

I am, on principle, FOR going right out and doing anything the OIC tries to tell me I must not, cannot, or will not be allowed to do. Including burning the effing koran, if I so choose.

Do NOT steal one out of the library or the B&N and burn it. THAT would be a crime, namely stealing and wanton destruction of property you don't own. That is a rational definition of a crime. Expressing your disdain for a book that advocates murder, rape, pillage, censorship, theft, extortion, terrorism, assault, mutilation, and deception, and whose devotees burn human beings to death in its name, is not.

Phoenix,

I don't know where to begin. IRONIC that you bring up APF's post, who used a Greek story to illustrate his point... which was brilliant, and humorous.

Brother, I take the idea of "Molon Labe" very, very seriously.

The way I see it, Western Civilization has endured thousands of years of hardship and bloodshed and evolution by our philosophical (if not biological) grandfathers and mothers in order to benefit us today. Will we be the ones to see it destroyed by a lesser creed?

It's why I was so inspired by this story posted by Son Of Walker here:

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2011/03/hizballahs-abominable-criminals-condemn-quran-burning-as-abominable-crime-call-on-christians-to-beha.html#comments

Scroll down to the 1:47 post by "sonofwalker."

It's the idea of "NO SURRENDER" exhibited by our Greek forefathers, in this case namely the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae led by King Leonidas in 480 BC.

And it wasn't just them, it IS every man and woman from THEN until NOW, that carried that idea of freedom in their hearts.

I know it's easy to be discouraged, God knows I get discouraged often. But that's one of the reasons I frequent this site. It buoys my spirit, and strengthens my intellect.

No matter what happens Phoenix, it's not too late, a determined and righteous minority will always overcome a hypnotized majority... our backs will never bend to the whip!

I just found another title for my new book 'Muhammad and the Koran: The Twin Towers of Muhammaden Imperialism'. It will be called 'Burning The Koran'. Look for it soon.

Asif Ali Zardari's “He assured that Pakistan would continue playing its active and constructive role in promoting inter-faith harmony and peaceful co-existence...”
So it is alright to burn Christians for not converting to Islam but it becomes an international issue when a privately owned koran is burned. Please look at this graphic image of a Pakistani Christian who was burned for refusing to convert to Islam and this Muslim savage(Zardair) wants us to believe he is promoting interfaith harmony and peaceful co-existence.
http://zuri1.com/2010/09/26/pakistan-christian-man-burned-alive-wife-raped-by-police-because-they-refused-to-convert-to-islam-graphic-pictures/

Damn, Redbird. Good post.

In honor of the hundreds of civilians the Muhammadens burned in airplanes to ignite the burning of the Twin Towers and the thousands of civilians in them on 9/11 we will have a national Koran burning day on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. From then on every year after this will become an international Koran burning day. Of course there will be the optional and/or spontaneous 365 day Koran burnings for any time a Muhammaden anywhere on the planet burns themself, Non-Muhammadens or the property of Non-Muhammadens.

Your 6:05 post was very inspiring. Thanks for taking the time to contrast the Islam and Founder's views.

Reminds me, the tension you speak of... the light fish and dark fish, each one with an element of the other in it... swimming together eternally.

Are we each utopians then, in other words, seeking our own perfect world?

Is it just the nature of this atomic world, one of two opposites only existing because of the existence of the other?

Is it for us to endure it, cognizant of this reality or not? Is it for us to endure it and accept it then, the existence of evil?

Is the solution to just let what seems the lesser of two creeds smite your neck while asking the Master Architect to forgive them? ... thereby insuring your place among a select few throughout earth's (possibly the universe's)history who have understood and transcended this tension?

And possibly, if it be so, escape the cycle of birth and re-birth?

I struggle with this, my friend. I feel a peace waiting for me on one side, should I withdraw myself from this fight.

On the flipside, I have children... and I'm sure I will have grandchildren. Would it not be more noble for me to fight so that they may experience the freedom to f*** up in all ways imaginable so they may in turn experience the exhilaration of solving their own problems and achieving the wisdom proportional in that problem-solving experience?

I feel that I have one foot in heaven, with my brothers Lao-Tzu, Jesus of Nazareth, and Socrates... and one on earth with my fathers Martel, and Sobieski.

I feel that tension, and I struggle with it. But I'm no different than millions of other humans who've lived. Or am I? Are you? Who knows? The shadow knows.

Sam Clemens said "Of the demonstrably wise there are but two, those who commit suicide and those who keep their reasoning faculties atrophied with drink."

And so I resolve to FIGHT. And to drink.

Seriously, this is a good development. We have difficulty getting the mainstream to understand us while stealth jihad remains hidden. But the more they push for what they really want, the more the public will become alarmed about Islam as well.

@Wri7913 - "I went up and asked the guy if he was an infidel, he said "Damn right". I said "so am I" and shook his hand."

I won't define myself in terms of what they call us.

Thanks for the kind words. I puzzle over such issues, and how to present them, if I speak at all.

The freedom to engage in the Pursuit of Happiness is no guarantee of happiness, unless the pursuit itself is happiness. Being in a state of happiness or depression is a habit forming condition, like a self fulfilling proposition where one can will himself or herself toward one or the other.

(Someone once characterized my comments -- elsewhere -- as fortune cookie comments. I might not ever figure that one out. Just now I searched on it and up popped this example message: "Many folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." Funny.)

The OIC is in a perpetual state of unhappiness, and they want to share it with others.

When I was a kid toilet tissue didn't exist or at least was too expensive for most people in my village. Cut up newspaper was used instead.
Later, at school, I was introduced to Izal. Not tissue exactly but hard shiny paper.
Mmmm. Bet a Koran could be used that way. At least it would be better than the soil and stones recommended by Mo. Also an apt use of the Koran don't you think?. Waste not want not.

To R.K.MacUalraig who stated and asked:
"I feel that I have one foot in heaven, with my brothers Lao-Tzu, Jesus of Nazareth, and Socrates... and one on earth with my fathers Martel, and Sobieski.
I feel that tension, and I struggle with it. But I'm no different than millions of other humans who've lived. Or am I? Are you? Who knows? The shadow knows."

Words that one speaks are apparently borne away to become the minutest of vibrations, or are they? I take some comfort in saying, "Only the wind remembers my name."

And you said:
"And so I resolve to FIGHT. And to drink."
I know about the latter one hell of a lot.

Most people are not going to pay attention to the stealth jihad until it actually gets in their face in a way that causes them significant discomfort, inconvenience, or outright fear. For that reason, at this point, unfortunately, dangerous and ominous developments such as the specter of OIC-induced censorship and the formation of a caliphate are as necessary as the tsunami warning sirens were in Japan earlier this month: they alert people that something terrible is coming. The tsunami can't be stopped but the warning saves lives; we have the advantage in that the jihad can be fought if the warning is heeded.

Daniel Greenfield (whose surname so evokes the hymn Far Away) has written a great piece regarding the wisdom of saving a billion people from themselves. It can be found at http://sultanknish.blogspot.com

Again a failure to see the dark side of democracy working against us. The UN is a nest of Islamic nations which are posed to enforce the Islamic political system on the world .

Democracy is the opposite of Islam . Unlike Christianity under which " Give on to Cesar what is off Cesar and o God what is of God." As can be seen , earthly powers are of no interest to Christianity, contrary to Islam , where earthly powers and domination is of main interest. Who offered Jesus in the desert all the power on earth if he bowed to him ? There you can identify who Allah really is .

Jacci/Jameela,

This guy raged against something too, in a more recent era:

"[The] "Unabomber Manifesto" [] argued that his bombings were extreme but necessary to attract attention to the erosion of human freedom necessitated by modern technologies requiring large-scale organization."

I can only surmise that it made sense to him.

What are your own words? Can you define liberty, freedom or justice for all?

The OIC is in a perpetual state of unhappiness, and they want to share it with others.

Isn't this the true state of Islam in toto, that they live in a perpetual state of unhappiness they wish to share (by force if need be) on others? If so, then Islam's universality as a 'Religion of Peace' means that true happiness will be found within Muhammad's theo-political ideology if, and only if, one accepts that 'unhappiness' is the true state of mankind. Ergo, our "We the People" who are endowed with inalienable rights to "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness" are 'blasphemous' in the eyes of Muhammad/Allah/Sharia because we dare to challenge the 'truth' of Islam, that human beings are meant to be Unhappy.

Good. Now I am happy to know I am a true blasphemer of Islam! ... - LOL

@Jacci/Jameela: "The Jews are NOT human, they are the Jinn species. "

Whoa dude, you drank deep of that Kool-Aid. Were you born into it, or did you 'revert' of your own deluded, misguided, confused will? Sorry, pal, but your are a raving lunatic. Why don't you peruse some of the links I provided above, and open up your reverted perverted mind: http://www.jihadwatch.org/2011/03/oic-to-convey-strong-condemnation-of-quran-burning-to-un-secretary-general-demand-un-action.html#comment-771690

Then take your dirty little Book and make yourself truly 'unhappy'. Burn it.

salaam aleikom.

@Jacci/Jameela
Was Muhammad a Prophet or a Prophetess? See for yourself:
http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2011/01/prophetess-of-islam-video.html

Thanks for the earlier compliment!

As 5 pm approaches it occurs to me that you have tapped a deep philosophical and psychological vein in us all. Or more likely, a keg.

What was it the Brits used to say during WWII? "Keep Calm and Carry On"? I changing my version to Keep Beer on Ice At All Times and Carry On.

I mean, when you unexpectedly run head-on into something like the post from "Jacci" above, it is critically important to not only have John Adams on your bookshelf, but Sam Adams in the 'fridge.
