A lucrative and active human smuggling ring brought an undetermined number of potential Somali jihadists into the United States through Brazil, federal prosecutors say in court papers.Those prosecutors are asking a federal judge in San Antonio to give the maximum sentence to a Somali man who pleaded guilty in November to two counts of making false statements on a 2008 asylum application. Ahmed Muhammed Dhakane failed to report his connections to Al-Ittihad Al-Islami (AIAI) and al-Barakat, both specially designated terrorist organizations.
When he is sentenced April 28, prosecutors want U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez to factor in a series of related and disturbing actions spelled out in this memorandum, including the human smuggling of potential terrorists. They intend to call several law enforcement witnesses and three people Dhakane smuggled into the country.

This does not surprise me. It is generally well known that the Argentine-Paraguay-Brazil frontier region has a large Arab-Muslim population and that various terrorist organizations are active, operating smuggling rings, etc.

This doesn't surprise me. You hear more stories about Jihadists taking advantage of the disorganized and somewhat corrupt state of much of Latin America—and especially the chaotic border area with the US—to bring in Jihadists and Jihad materials.
We've had a lot of close calls. It's likely only a matter of time before we hear about some Jihad attack in southern California or the Southwest or Texas where the terrorists came in across the border.

Pakistani Muslims were *deliberately* exported, en masse, to Europe and the UK. They knew exactly which buttons to push in order to inveigle their way in. Naipaul saw that, in the early 1980s.
Previously, the US used to export Jihadis to Somalia. For an administration that swore on fair, rather than free trade, you'd think that they'd keep our trade surplus here intact. Instead, instead of exporting Jihadis to Somalia, we're importing Jihadis to Somalia. Where is Dick Gephardt when you need him? Or the AFLCIO, or the UAW, and so on?
The US should work rigorously to correct this trade imbalance. If Somalia is a done deal, then send the remaining Muslims, er Jihadis, to other places where they can be useful, like Libya, Bahrein, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, et al. In fact, have 2 streams of Jihadis sent into these countries - one Shia from Dearbornistan's Hizbullah community to provide such backup to the Shia of Bahrein, al-Hasa, Yemen, and another Sunni from the Somalian, Pakis, Palis and others who are here in the US. That way, there will be a constant demand of Jihadis from those countries from either side, and w/ enough luck, the US can export even prison converts there, and have absolutely zero US Muslims remaining.
