Senator Kyl at Durbin Muslim victimhood hearings: "Political correctness cannot stand in the way of identifying those who would do us harm"

I wonder why no one brings up the fact that there were eight times as many anti-Jewish incidents are anti-Muslim ones.

I would think Muslim Americans would feel a special obligation to help in such investigations.

Given what I've learned about Islam and its adherents, I wouldn't think that at all. After all, as OIC General Secretary Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu pointed out in a speech at Columbia University on Sept. 26, 2008:

The Muslim Ummah, means the 'community of the faithful'. It is a unique bond that has no similar example under any other political or religious system in the world. It is a belonging to ideals which bring Muslims together in an eternal brotherhood lock which transcends all other consideration of allegiance or loyalties or barriers of nationhood, ethnicity, geography or language.

Hence, there is in fact no such thing as a "Muslim American" -- a fact implicitly acknowledged by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the compound modifier in whose name is used advisedly.

I couldn't agree more. And while we're at it, let's spare some thought for another misunderstood and demonized minority, the modern day Nazis. Most Nazis in America want nothing more than to be left to get on with their activities of non-violent global conquest, compassionate enslavement of inferior peoples, and peaceful extermination of the Jews.

Consequently we need to counteract the climate of Naziphobia by implementing the following measures:

- An end to Naziphobia in the media, especially war films showing the Nazis in a bad light.

- Tax exemption for all places of Hitler-worship including airfields, munitions factories, extermination camps etc.

- Destruction of all blasphemous cartoons of Adolf Hitler(pbuh) produced in the Second World War.

- An apology from the British government for the campaign of Naziphobia waged by Winston Churchill, and the hurt feelings inflicted on the Afrika Korps at El Alamein by the Naziphobic bigot Montgomery.

- An apology from the American government for the insensitivity by the raging Naziphobe Eisenhower in failing to forewarn Nazi community leaders of the D-Day landings, which caused much distress among the peaceloving Nazis holidaying in Northern France.

- Burning 'Mein Kampf' must become a hate crime punishable by hanging with piano wire.

- Application of our parallel legal system known as 'The Gestapo' must be enforced in so-called 'democratic' countries.

- We demand affirmative action, in the interests of community cohesion, to promote Nazis to high positions in the security services.

- We demand government funding for the expansion of our youth activities, which play a vital role in keeping the younger generation out of trouble, and concentrate their minds on wholesome activities such as rallies, processions, camps, pogroms etc.

- The occasional Blitzkrieg invasions of sovereign states must not be portrayed in the media as being typical of Nazis as a whole, since this leads to Naziphobia. Rather they must be shown to be the work of a tiny minority of extremists who have hijacked a peaceful spiritual movement.

Let this be a lesson to those who insist both parties are equally dhimmified. The Republicans have their share of dhimmis, but they also have Peter King, John Kyle, Tom Tancredo, Rick Santorum and others who are out in front in the struggle against Islam.

I lucked out and caught the hearings by mistake. All was just a crock. However the only clear answer Ms.Farhana Khera gave(while trying to avoid the question) was when asked about the statement on her/their org's web site, was that she stood firmly behind whatever was written there. The statement was "when approached by the FBI, do not cooperate/answer questions until your lawyer is present." So once again some religions have immunity from our laws? But she just said that muslums are "fine upstanding law-abideing citizens." I'm soooo confused......

I hope they call Molly Norris as a "surprise!" witness..along with some of her motoons..But that would only make Durbin have to contradict the Constitution that he swore to uphold..Can't have THAT now can we?

If there is any real anti-Moslem activity in America, where are the victims? They sure seem to be awfully thin on the ground. I'm talking about real victims, not just some Moslem woman who thinks somebody was sneering at her burkha. The FBI's report on terrorism from 1980 to 2005 attributes about 95% of the fatalities to Moslem violence. Actual Moslem victims were non-existant, apart from some killed on 9-11 by other Moslems.
Moslems MAKE victims, they're rarely victims themselves, except at the hands of other Moslems.

Hey if the Nazis want "respect" I have the solution. Convert to Islam. Then they can indulge themselves in all of their pet hatreds with "a get out of jail free" card. Members of Toronto’s Somali community expressed shock( shocked I tell you(my add-on from Casa Blanca)) at Tuesday’s arrest of one of their own as a terror suspect, and said not enough is being done to keep their young men from drifting toward radicalism.

Abdar Osople, 34, put blame at the feet of the mosques and community leaders of Toronto’s Somali community on Wednesday, saying more should be done to keep young men engaged with building lives here in Canada.

“They don’t do anything for the kids,” said Osople, a married father of three who traded Mogadishu for Toronto almost 20 years ago.

“If the community gave them something ... encouraged them to succeed, to work, then they wouldn’t do this. We need to work together as a community to save them, because the community here does nothing,”

Mohamed Hersi, 25, of Scarborough, was arrested at Pearson International Airport following a six-month investigation by the RCMP and Toronto Police.

It’s alleged Hersi — a Canadian citizen — was flying to Somalia to join al-Shabaab, an Islamic terrorist group linked to al-Qaeda.

Osman Ali, executive director of the Somali-Canadian Association of Etobicoke, said the mosques and community groups are hamstrung, NOT HAVING ENOUGH MONEY FOR PROGRAMS to properly integrate Somali youth so their Islamic beliefs could co-exist with a more “Canadian” mindset of western culture and values.

“They are asking the mosques to help these people, but the extent that they want programs for these youth, they don’t have the means,” said Ali from his small second-floor office in the Thistledown Multi-Services Centre in Rexdale. What’s needed are employment workshops, leadership training and “elder” speakers who could talk both about the peaceful aspects of Islam and the dangers of radicalism on the Internet, Ali said.

“The mosques try their best with prayers and schools,” he said.

“The people at the mosques preach peace ... but they don’t have the means and the funds to really integrate them.”

According to the 2006 census, there are 18,445 Somalis in the Metropolitan Toronto census area.

The RCMP say information from the Somali community helped them arrest a former University of Toronto student for terror-related offences as he was about to board a flight at Pearson airport to Egypt and then Somalia.

Police seized undisclosed items from Mohamed Hersi, 25, of Toronto, before charging him with planning to participate in terrorist activities and counselling another person to do the same.

The former University of Toronto Scarborough campus health sciences student had been meeting “friends” for weeks at a local mosque who may have had an influence on him, some community members said.

RCMP Insp. Keith Finn said the suspect was allegedly travelling to Somalia to participate in terrorist activities.

“We believe he was on his way to join al-Shabaab and their criminal activity,” Finn told reporters at Toronto Police headquarters. “We will continue to work with partners to eliminate terrorist criminal activity in Canada and abroad.”

Finn said officers were able to obtain information about the suspect from the city’s Somali community.

The information led to a joint six-month investigation in October 2010, that was code-named Project Severe.

“The RCMP and Toronto Police were able to obtain numerous critical pieces of evidence required to lay criminal charges,” Finn said.

Toronto Police Supt. Tom Fitzgerald, of the service’s Intelligence Unit, said the accused left his job and was joining al-Shabaab.

“He was in preparation of going overseas,” Fitzgerald said. “We had great support from the community.” Officers said they’re concerned about the increasing amount of young people from the Somali community travelling abroad and becoming radicalized. They spread the fanaticism to their friends on their return to Canada.
