Wikileaks documents show growing concern in U.S. government over Gulen's Islamic movement

More on that little slice of insanity based in Pennsylvania. "Meet 'the Most Dangerous Islamist on Planet Earth' He lives in Pennsylvania," from Canada Free Press, March 21:

The latest documents from Wikileaks shows growing concern among U. S. officials over Fethullah Gulen’s attempts to create a New Islamic World and the “braining washing of students” that takes place at his charter schools within the United States and throughout the Muslim world.
The cable that speaks of the “brain-washing” was written in 2009 by James Jeffrey, the U. S. Ambassador to Turkey.
In the cable, Mr. Jeffrey describes Gülen as a “political phenomena” in Turkey even when he resides “in exile” within a mountain fortress in Pennsylvania. He says the Gülen movement has gained control of Turkey’s government and dictates Turkish policy which has become increasing anti-Israeli and anti-American. It points out that the leaders of the Justice and Development Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma or AKP) who now govern Turkey, including Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul, appear to serve as Gulen’s puppets.
Other newly released cables state that Gulen’s disciples now direct the country’s 200,000 strong police force - - a force that remains in conflict with the military, which sees the group as an enemy.
In recent months, Turkish military leaders, and other critics of the AKP, have been arrested in the dead of night and whisked off to detention cells.
According to NurettinVeren, who served as Fethullah Gulen’s right-hand man “There are imam security directors; imams wearing police uniforms. Many police commissioners get their orders from imams.”
“It is not possible to confirm the Turkish police are under the control of the Gülen community members, but we have not met anybody who denies it,” one cable said. The most dangerous Islamist on planet earth
Gulen has been labeled “the most dangerous Islamist on planet earth,” although he has failed to attract the attention of U. S. counter-terrorism experts and the national media.
Gülen is a student and follower of Sheikh Sa’id-i Kurdi (1878-1960), also known as Sa’id-i Nursi, the founder of the Islamist Nur (light) movement. After Turkey’s war of independence, Kurdi demanded, in an address to the new parliament, that the new republic be based on Islamic principles. Kurdi turned against Atatürk and his reforms and against the new modern, secular, Western republic and Gulen has followed his militant mentor’s example.
Hailed as an outstanding educator by Graham Fuller and other CIA officials, the reclusive Gulen is semi-literate and lacks a high school diploma.
In 1999, he was driven from his native Turkey because of his attempts to overthrow the secular Turkish government.
Objectives of transforming Turkey into an Islam republic and of creating a New Islamic World Order
In his sermons, Gulen has stated his objectives of transforming Turkey into an Islam republic and of creating a New Islamic World Order. In one sermon, he said:
“You must move in the arteries of the system without anyone noticing your existence until you reach all the power centers … until the conditions are ripe, they [the followers] must continue like this. If they do something prematurely, the world will crush our heads, and Muslims will suffer everywhere, like in the tragedies in Algeria, like in 1982 [in] Syria … like in the yearly disasters and tragedies in Egypt. The time is not yet right. You must wait for the time when you are complete and conditions are ripe, until we can shoulder the entire world and carry it … You must wait until such time as you have gotten all the state power, until you have brought to your side all the power of the constitutional institutions in Turkey … Until that time, any step taken would be too early—like breaking an egg without waiting the full forty days for it to hatch. It would be like killing the chick inside. The work to be done is [in] confronting the world. Now, I have expressed my feelings and thoughts to you all—in confidence … trusting your loyalty and secrecy. I know that when you leave here—[just] as you discard your empty juice boxes, you must discard the thoughts and the feelings that I expressed here....

The war has not really begun yet. I am speaking of the shooting part of the war. The attempted takeover has been underway for a long time now.

Turkey is a devolutionary work-in-regress from secularism towards islam.

"In one sermon, he [Gulen] said:'...you must discard the thoughts and the feelings that I expressed here....."

Obviously someone failed to do so.

So "[t]he latest documents from Wikileaks shows growing concern among U. S. officials over Fethullah Gulen’s attempts to create a New Islamic World and the “braining washing of students” that takes place at his charter schools within the United States and throughout the Muslim world."

This is good. What is bad is the usual tendency of the U.S. government to do nothing until pressed by events. If it was easy to do something about Gulen, it would have been done already, and if it is hard to do something about him it is likely to not be done until it is too late.

Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister calls for bombing of Israel

Ed Lasky

http://www.americanthinker.com/printpage/?url=http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2011/03/turkeys_deputy_prime_minister.html

After assuring both Libyans and Turks that Turkey was not involved in airstrikes on Libya, Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç, of Turkey, said, "We wish that the United Nations had made such resolutions and countries had taken action in the face of incidents in Gaza, Palestine and the other regions

This is exactly the problem I thought might arise from President Obama's endorsement of the trendy principle of "Responsibility to Protect". In yesterday's blog, "The Rise of Samantha Power and the risks for the American-Israel relationship," I speculated that the rationale Obama adopted to bomb Libya bore the risks of others adopting the same "principle" to justify punishing, if not bombing, Israel.

I wrote:

It is not hard to envision that this R2P concept, swirling through the United Nations and in international foreign policy circles, can one day be applied against Israel when that nation is forced to respond from attacks coming from the West Bank, Gaza, and Lebanon. Terrorists hide behind civilians; Israeli actions to defend themselves often happen in densely populated areas where civilian deaths are almost inevitable - despite all the precautions Israel takes to prevent them.

And noted Omri Ceren's excellent analysis of the history of this amorphous concept of the Responsibility to Protect and how it has already been used to criticize Israel. It seems that adversaries of Israel are eager to apply this concept to attack Israel, metaphorically and diplomatically, if not militarily (yet).

Barack Obama listened not to Congress but to the Arab League, the United Nations, and people like Samantha Power to launch military attacks. But he has also opened a Pandora's Box by endorsing the Responsibility to Protect as an international norm that can be used to justify attacks by those the so-called " international community" consider to be threatening civilians.

This is yet another irresponsible action by Barack Obama - one that bears with it the risk of being used to justify all sorts of mischief in the years ahead.

I also found it quite interesting that George Soros - a huge supporter of Barack Obama's campaign, funds efforts to promote Responsibility to Protect as an international norm. Samantha Power (who heavily influenced Obama to launch attacks on Libya) also is a supporter of the R2P movement and played a key role at a think tank (The International Crisis Group) heavily funded by George Soros.

The ties that bind.

Yea and the CIA has no clue and besides that he is an outstanding educator without hardly any formal education except from an Islamic school of indoctrination. Boy I would like to ask why do we even have a CIA or FBI anymore? We may as well do our own investigation or for that matter just send Robert a check for all the information he and Pamela inform us with.

How has he even been given exile is what I would like to know. Also why has he been able to operate in the US for so long without getting attention about his activities? I'm willing to bet that wheels were greased with Saudi oil money.

Yes, we should send Robert a check. I do.

One bunker-buster and bye-bye dreams of the new Ottoman Empire.

Gulan obviously has attracted the attention of some people in the U.S. government, because there was at least one government document concerning him that has been leaked to Wikileaks. We are reading about that here. It is a good thing that such documents exist.

The big question is, what is to be done about him? No answers there yet.

I saw an article about Fethullah Gulen where it said he did indeed have some difficulties obtaining permanent entry into the U.S. The federal authorities finally gave him political exile status, but the details were not made public. The article also said Fethullah Gulen is himself a multimillionaire, and some of his supporters in Turkey are also very wealthy, so he has personal access to large amounts of money. His network of Gulen schools are partly funded in the U.S. with federal tax-payer's money because they qualify as "Charter Schools". But Gulen could fund them entirely with his own wealth if he had to.
Fethullah Gulen is a Sufi, which means he has pretensions to being a "mystic" in intimate special communion with Allah. So, probably, he has spread the story about himself that he has little formal schooling and he's almost illiterate -- therefore there's an aura of the miraculous presented (because he has published scholarly works including commentaries on the Quran, and he's evidently quite literate and highly educated). So, it's miraculous (to the typical Muslim mind) just as Muhammed receiving the supernatural inspired words of the Quran was "miraculous".
Fethullah Gulen, and his whole operation, is an extremely sophisticated production. It is the furthest ideological development of the Jihad so far. It presents the most convincing outward appearance of genuine modern civilization which Islam has yet put together to trick the unbelievers. It's the advance guard, the tip of the vanguard of stealth jihad penetration into the West. It should be approached with caution. Basic principles of warfighting strategy say you should attack your enemy at his weakest points first. The Gulen Movement is not one of Islamic Jihad's weak points. On the contrary ...

I wouldn't put too much stock in the opinions that Gulen is "illiterate" as this tends to dismiss too lightly a man who is actually quite a formidable force to be reckoned with. He manifestly is not illiterate, in spite of lacking formal academic credentials, as can easily be seen by perusing his writings. (FWIW, Mohammad was illiterate, as compared to Jesus, who, as a Jew, would have been highly literate.)

Instead, Gulen is obviously a highly intelligent, albeit largely self-taught, man. So was Abraham Lincoln. Despite being literate, Gulen appears not to have evolved much beyond the Sufism he learned in the village of his youth. At heart he possesses the same fanatical obsession with spreading Islam, albeit using methods of stealth jihad, as does his more violent brethren, and is arguably more effective then they are because of the intelligence he brings to it. A dangerous man.

"In recent months, Turkish military leaders, and other critics of the AKP, have been arrested in the dead of night and whisked off to detention cells."

hmmmm, sounds like a purge going on....and no one seems to care...

I can see how 'worried' U.S. officials are when they allow an exiled terrorist to operate indoctrination facilities on American soil staffed by imported Turkish operatives and financed by U.S. taxpayers. Nice to know we're paying an islamic supremacist to train American jihadist traitors so they can infiltrate every institution in this country and eventually overthrow our government.

He was expelled from Turkey for trying to overthrow the government, requested asylum in the U.S., and in ten years time established a thriving brain washing, jihadist production industry masquerading as education. Did he draw straws to choose where he would seek asylum, or was America his target? Gee, it seems like the government would keep a watchful eye on people like this dangerous man but I guess they want to ensure that his 'Constitutional rights' aren't violated. To hell with ours.
