A state senator has scheduled a daylong hearing for Friday on terrorism preparedness in New York City, featuring an array of experts in law enforcement, emergency response and counterterrorism.But his plan to take testimony in Manhattan about the threat from radical Islam is drawing sharp criticism from Muslim and interfaith groups that call the hearing anti-Muslim and incendiary — a local version of the contentious session held last month in Washington by Representative Peter T. King of Long Island.
In fact, the witness list includes Mr. King, a Republican who has promised more Congressional hearings on what he calls the radicalization of American Muslims.
The state senator, Gregory R. Ball, a Putnam County Republican who is chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs, said he did not intend his inquiry to focus unfairly on threats from any one group.
“But there are people who seek to hurt and destroy us,” Mr. Ball said. “We have to move beyond political correctness.”
Among the witnesses whose scheduled testimony has raised objections is Nonie Darwish, an Egyptian-born American who is president of a group called Former Muslims United. Mr. Ball said Ms. Darwish would testify about Shariah law and “being taught to hate Israelis and Americans” in Islamic schools she attended in Egypt.
Adem Carroll, a spokesman for the New York State Interfaith Network for Immigration Reform, one of the organizations protesting the hearing, said that by including witnesses like Ms. Darwish and Frank Gaffney, a former Defense Department official who has often criticized Islam, Mr. Ball was exploiting deep public concern about terrorism to incite fear of Muslims as a group.

Clearly Carroll is blaming the Florida pastor for those killings. Follow out that logic, and we can never do anything to resist jihad terrorism and Islamic supremacism, because if we do, Muslims might react badly.
Eight Democrats in the State Senate have signed a letter of protest to Mr. Ball from State Senator Kevin S. Parker, a Democrat whose Brooklyn district includes one of the city’s largest populations of Pakistani immigrants, most of them Muslim.“By including Islamic law as a topic of the hearing,” Mr. Parker wrote, “you conflate the religious observances and practices of a faith into a security matter. Some opportunists and political leaders have sought to create hostility against Muslims by raising the specter of the Shariah ‘bogeyman’ as a threat to America.”
He urged Mr. Ball not to follow that example, and suggested that he also call witnesses who are not biased against Islam.
That jihad terrorists cite Islamic law to justify their actions and make recruits among peaceful Muslims doesn't matter one bit. To look at such things ourselves would be "Islamophobic." This is Sharia, self-enforced by unwitting dhimmis: just as in Malaysia, non-Muslims who quote the Qur'an now face arrest, so here. Jihadis can quote Islamic law all they want, but if he notice and start studying their motivations in line with what they say, we're being "biased against Islam."

For proof one need only look at the muslim world...in fact, you will not find a better example of this "cycle of violence" than that perpetuated by muslim and islamic leaders the world over.
What's missing, however, is any concrete evidence showing the same occurring here in the US. Sure, Pastor Jones burned a qur'an, and one could indeed argue it was hateful, but as far as I know it did not incite a flurry of qur'an burnings, save perhaps the one by Miss Barnhardt (sp?)in Colorado. If Mr. Carroll is correct in his assumptions, one would have expected Americans to have burned the qu'ran en masse. Indeed the only burning going on was by muslims, who were busy burning bibles and effigies of the president, etc., while shouting death to America.

The above would be true if violence was being directed at Muslims in America. He forgets that it is Muslims, both homegrown and abroad, that are killing innocent people. It is Muslims who killed thousands in 911. Americans and the rest of the world are quite right to be concerned about the "cycle of violence". But all the real hate speech and defamation seem to be flowing from the mouths of Muslims claiming victimhood as they prepare for jihad!
The very first thing required of ALL critics of any of these hearings should be to watch "The Top 25 Films on Islam"
They would get a really rounded and fairly quick eye opening education pertaining their own IGNORANCE of what ISLAM is all about. Warning: only those with a strong set of cojones should watch them. On reflection I think that might be a very good idea. Someone knowledgeable about Islam not biased against Islam. Fair enough, but lets also vet out the person's bias for Islam.
Then once he's given his statement (it will always be a "he," usually one with a beard), grill the daylights out of him. Ask him all the questions that will make him squirm, from the Verses of the Sword to the concept of authorized lying to all the other uncomfortable subjects.
The equivocations, the evasions, will be on display for all of America to see and that we are dealing with duplicitous people who mean us no good.

The enrolment in 1962 of black student James Meredith at the University of Mississippi, sparked riots. The riots led to a violent clash which left two people dead.
By Carroll's logic it was wrong to challenge segregation.

Some (muslims) may simply be cowards, but it's still a choice to remain a member of a group that savagely murders non-members on a daily basis. 8. Questioning or examining Islam is considered an attack against all Islam
9. Any one who lives in the house of Dar al Harbi, has no right to live

The only way to defeat an enemy is to know them, their language and culture. When we speak their language they will begin to hear us. What is their language? Simple. Remember Saddam Husein, and how he kept peace? Simple. We need to start responding-in-like fashion, whenever an Islamic out-break occurs. So what if it "looks bad" in the eyes of the world? The problem we will run into though will be getting all bracches of government to stand by it and not waiver. (i.e. Stop the PC BS and recognise islam for what it is, a totalitarian way of life as opposed to a religion)
