Failed Saudi jihadist: "Grant me martyrdom for Your sake and make jihad easy for me," but hey, being an engineer for Google would be neat-o, too

We know which side won amid Aldawsari's contradictory aspirations, ending with human potential squandered in jihad. More on this story. "Defense seeks discovery of terror suspect's writings," by James Clark for KCBD, March 31:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A terror suspect who made national news is getting ready to go to trial in Lubbock. On Wednesday, the attorney for Khalid Aldawsari, 20, filed a motion to see the prosecution's evidence.
It's called a motion for discovery and most of it is routine for any criminal case, but the motion specifically calls for the defense to have copies of Aldawsari's writing.
That might be interesting because the office of U.S. Attorney said in late February that Aldawsari had written notes to himself about possible targets for bomb attacks on nuclear power plants, hydro-dams, and the home for former President George W. Bush, to which he referred as the "Tyrant's House."
Aldawsari, a citizen of Saudi Arabia, also wrote about his anti-American feelings and his desire for jihad.
In March of 2010, prior to arriving in Lubbock as a college student, Aldawsari wrote in part in an Internet post, "grant me martyrdom for Your sake and make jihad easy for me." He further wrote, one month later, "It is war until… the infidels leave defeated."
Perhaps ironically, he also wrote that he liked being in Lubbock.
"Although the city is small, I have enjoyed it because everything is close to me such as shops, malls, theaters …," Aldawsari wrote on a blog on August 10th, 2009, which was one week after arriving in Lubbock.
"Texas Tech University is very nice one and I like it," he continued. "They have a good football team, so probably I will enjoy the city and the life here."
He was in Lubbock as a college student until he was arrested on February 23rd. Court records say Aldawsari had acquired the raw material needed for a chemical bomb.
When he wasn't writing about blowing up targets to defeat infidels, he was writing about his dreams to someday get hired on with Google.
"That dream is mainly and simply to be an employee in Google," Aldawsari wrote on May 11th, 2009. "I am preparing to make a device like Nintendo DSI but more sophisticated…"
"I think that device will get me into Google," he wrote. "Go Khalid."
The defense motion also calls upon prosecutors to reveal
- who if anyone might be an un-indicted co-conspirator,
- if Aldawsari has been convicted of, or accused of any crimes aside from his current criminal charge, and
- any evidence that prosecutors might want to use to influence his sentence if convicted.
Aldawsari's trial is set for May 2nd. If convicted on a single count of Attempted Use of a Weapon of Mass Destruction, he faces any term of years or life in prison.

You can't help feeling that if this kid was a Christian he would be on his way to a sucessful career and a fruitful life. Allah is the destroyer of humanity.

This guy's lawyer better be carfull. He's fishing for material for an insanity defense, but I'm afraid the guy's writings are going to clearly show inspiration, motive, plan and steps taken toward the achieving of his goals. Under American criminal law these things show sanity. I think that if he raises the insanity defense, he will convict his own client. The lawyer should call his malpractice insurer and up his coverage.

To be a young Muslim in America! Living in a small town and plotting to blow up the White House! No wonder America is a Mecca for foreign students!

A chemical bomb? Go Khalid, Go! Why don't you try a regular roadside bomb first? just like this one. It will take you straight to your 72 mohammedan virgins.

I think this chump's younger brother was one of my students in Riyadh.

I did surveys for each of my four groups of young Saudi men, 90 percent of whom stated that their "dream" was to study in America.

When asked to give a reason why, nearly half of the respondents chose not to include their reason, or admitted having no rationale.

I've said it here before: one can NEVER trust a Muslim. NEVER.

Khalid is going to get his just desserts for not listening in his TOK classes...

Decisions, decisions. Become a Google engineer or a murdering jihadist. Only a Muslim would seriously consider this to be a rational choice.

Please, dear God, help me murder millions of infidels with WMD or else be a Google staffer, or, if it isn't too much to ask, both.

'...the home of George W Bush ...is the "Tyrant's House" '

What a joke. Everyone knows the ultimate tyrant had a house in Mecca then moved to Medina.

I don't imagine this is uncommon at all. I think many Jihadists thoroughly enjoy life in civilized Dar-al-Harb until the very moment they murder us for our "un-Islamic" values—the very values that make so much of the West so pleasant in the first place.
