Israel to Hamas: Here's a thought, stop firing rockets if you want a ceasefire

Hamas fired the first shot on Thursday -- an anti-tank missile that hit a school bus -- and proceeded to play the victim, complaining of Israeli "aggression." The group, whose reason for existence is the destruction of Israel and the imposition of Islamic law, supposedly declared a ceasefire late Thursday, and the rockets continued to fly, not from "renegade" freelance jihadists, but from Hamas itself, Friday and Saturday.

In Islamic law, ceasefires and truces are not intended to last, and Hamas pulled another 2-ply ceasefire offer from the roll yesterday (they come in 4, 8, 12, and 24-packs), even as their rocket attacks continued.

Hence Israel's advice: if you want a ceasefire... Cease fire. "Israel to Palestinians: We'll stop shooting if you do," by Shira Medding and Kevin Flowers for CNN, April 10:

Jerusalem (CNN) -- Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Sunday that Israel was willing to stop attacks on Gaza if the Palestinians stop firing into southern Israel.
"If they stop firing at our communities, then we will stop firing. If they stop firing altogether, then there will be quiet," Barak said in an interview on Israel Radio.
But Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned shortly afterward that the converse was also true.
"Our policy is clear. If attacks against Israeli civilians and Israeli soldiers continue, the response will be very harsh," he said before the weekly Cabinet meeting Sunday.
Barak's offer comes after a particularly intense few days of hostilities following a Hamas rocket attack on an Israeli bus that left a teenager critically wounded on Thursday.
Netanyahu said Sunday the victim, Daniel Wiliech, "is fighting for his life. We, along with the entire nation, pray for him."...

Hamas' defense of this act was to blame the bus for using the road.

That is so old it is now a mantra that Hamnas and company do not hear....'When have they ever 'stopped firing'?

........................

with all due respect, SIR, the problem is that the response is never harsh enough!!!
what use is it to have one of the most powerful armies in the world if the citizens it is supposed to defend are NOT defended and this is an ongoing phenomenon...

what ever happened to the '48, '67 spirit... the miraculous defense of the golan by **ONE** (not a typo, and not bragging, just factual)tank commander (zvika greengold).....
the brilliant move of sharon to cross the suez canal to encircle the egyptian 3rd army.....

why is it no longer done? SIR!
is it because then we fought against an identifiable army with soldiers wearing uniforms and today we face a miserable collection of cowards that hide amongst an abetting population???
this is your clue, SIR, **THIS IS THE ENEMY**....

it is fine and dandy to talk talk talk and try to explain to a criminally antisemitic world that israel is 'the proverbial canary in the mineshaft'....

TACKHLESS! if i am not to myself, who will be for me...and if not now, WHEN?

SIR!

How many years now has Israel been saying "You better stop trying to kill us with rockets or we'll really get mad"?

And this "Iron Dome" counter-rocket system has, IMHO, got to be wrong headed. Holding up a shield & forever issuing warnings when you have a powerful military just can't be the way to deal with mortal Islamic hate-crazed enemies.

you've got that right canto!

"Hamas' defense of this act was to blame the bus for using the road."

What?...The Jews cannot use their vehicles on their roads in their country?...

But of course, Any Jew is a Muslim enemy even if they are driving a school bus. I suspect the bus was targeted because it was a bus...notably a school bus...the Muslims' timing was off just a little bit...I suspect they had intended to blast the bus when it was fully loaded...Muslims often go for the maximum shock value of a successful terror attack...and a school bus full of Jewish children would be a prized target. And I don't care what they claim...it's just a fact.

Israel, flatline Hamas.

Mohammedans get cocky: Arab League plans to ask UN to impose no-fly zone over Gaza.

The only positive from this article is that it came from CNN...I think this is a very positive development.

Wait a bit.

Let the Libyan civil war drag on. When Khaddafi is winning we should help the rebels and when the rebels are winning we should help Khaddafi.

Let the Muslim Brotherhood attack the Army in Egypt. Let the Muslim Brotherhood attack Assad and his Alawis in Syria. Let al-Qaida come out and lead the intifada. Let the Mullahs in Iran and Lebanon think they are winning.

When all of these states are paralyzed by civil war, then Israel, solve the Gaza problem permanently, once and for all.

Wait a bit longer.

The Phoenix,

I couldn't have said it better myself.

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar

Great strategy!!!

Quote Mark Twain in part:
" He has made a marvelous fight in the world, in all ages; and has done it with his hands tied behind him."

Tank you for summarizing the strategy of American neocons for what, all of the past 30 to 40 years?

Now, it is fortunate for the Jewish Israelies that Hamas' leadership is a bunch of blockheads. If they were sly, they'd be thinking about how to convert Israel into the last and final ghetto. But how would they do that?

It's simple. Make it nice and peaceful now, see? Make it an enticing place for all the world's Jews. No more rocket attacks. No more suicide bombers at Sbarro. No more blown up buses. No more ruined weddings. Any person who even thought about attacking an Israeli target would have his family viciously and brutally put down. That alone ought to discourage quite a few bombers.

However, it must become hellish for a Jew to live anywhere else in the world, including New York City. Of course, even if there were no rocket attacks from Gaza or elsewhere against the Jews, the Jews would NOT cease fire. Their provocations would continue, along with their tiresome victimology. Still, if the blockheads could restrain their braves, the world's opinion would turn against the Jews. In time, it would be pretty uncomfortable for Jews in America and other havens.

Then, one day, many years from now, when there's no safe place for the Jews to be but in Israel, the trap will be sprung. It'll be kind of a neat irony that the Palestianian Muslims labored in the meantime to complete that wall, which, of course, is something that every ghetto needs.

Now, every ghetto needs a name, too. How about Camp Seven for the last one? Of course, as noted, the leaders of Hamas are blockheads. So the Israelis have little reason to be afraid of Camp Seven.

Lakeview_Paul: Of course, even if there were no rocket attacks from Gaza or elsewhere against the Jews, the Jews would NOT cease fire.

The sky in your world is a very different color from mine. I stand against you with all my strength.
